Centralized device management has automated onboarding and improves remote security compliance
One thing I feel Microsoft Intune could improve is troubleshooting visibility. In many cases, when a policy or application deployment fails, the error messages are a bit generic. So, admins still spend time checking logs manually or testing on devices one by one. Compared to the simplicity of deployment, troubleshooting sometimes feels less mature. I also think reporting and real-time monitoring could be stronger. The dashboard gives useful information, but in large environments, many teams still depend on additional tools or scripts for deeper reporting and analytics. If I had to focus on one area first, I would probably choose troubleshooting and reporting. Deployment through Microsoft Intune is generally straightforward, but when something fails, identifying the exact root cause can still take more time than expected. Error messages are sometimes too generic, and admins often have to dig through logs, sync status, or multiple portals to understand what actually happened. I think user experience and policy management could also improve further. Microsoft Intune has become much better over the years, but sometimes the admin portal still feels fragmented because certain configurations open in different sections or redirect to older interfaces. For new admins, especially, it can take time to understand where everything is located. Another thing is policy conflict handling. In larger organizations, multiple device policies, compliance rules, and configuration profiles can overlap. When conflicts happen, the visibility is not always very clear, so admins spend time figuring out which policy actually won or caused the issue.

Allows us to revert to an optimal system state. I would like to see a faster Google Drive Sync.
* Deep Freeze: Ensures that I can maintain a baseline of an optimal system state where performance and system security are guaranteed. No matter how long a computer is in use, it will always revert to that same condition. * Data Igloo: Has been an important feature for me because on a frozen computer, the user's files and folders would have been redirected to the ThawSpace, thereby avoiding data loss upon a system restart. Users no longer have to worry when saving their files naturally to the Documents, Pictures, Music, Video, or Downloads folders or when manually saving their files to other locations. Data Igloo has been configured to handle all that.

Automated onboarding has saved hundreds of hours and now standardizes device security globally
In terms of how Ivanti Neurons for UEM can be improved, I think there's potential for automation of some repetitive tasks. The device provisioning process has already become very close to zero-touch, but the patch deployment is still scheduled and policy-driven. As a result, I believe we can reduce endpoint administration further. I also think the number of integrations and the scalability of the tool can be improved, along with customer service, as we've encountered some issues in certain countries. Regarding the needed improvements, particularly concerning integrations or customer service challenges, we have had problems with integration with some third-party tools requiring additional configuration and testing. Occasionally, we also experienced delays between systems, particularly with user group changes and device compliance updates. The accuracy and reliability of output from Ivanti's AI can be improved. We notice that the AI-driven insights are useful, but there are anomalies and some false positives. Since we are still in a validation period, I cannot provide a definitive mark, but I believe that accuracy should be enhanced, especially for more complex and environment-specific issues where human intervention is still needed.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"With on-premises Active Directory, the main challenge was that we had no control when a user was working from home. We didn't know what exactly a user was doing and whether the AV was up to date or not. Intune provides better control of their machines."
"What I like most about the tool is that it's now very easy to set up a device for someone to use. It also helps us tremendously in managing security. Before, we used on-premise management with a domain controller. It was difficult to manage security comprehensively. For example, it was hard to know which computers were updated. We weren't able to do that easily with our previous solution."
"Being able to manage the devices remotely is most valuable. We can push security requirements through Microsoft Intune."
"The most reliable feature is the integration with Microsoft XDR, which grants administrators and solution architects like me the ability to bring value to a business."
"My favorite feature about Microsoft Intune is that I have good logging capabilities; I can effectively troubleshoot, though I'm also missing some aspects."
"Intune is a very good product and everything is cloud-based, and it provides a very simple unified platform to manage everything from the single management console."
"Microsoft Intune is reliable, scalable, and user-friendly."
"Microsoft Intune is a must and should be needed for this time, for this hybrid model period, and I highly recommend this product for employees, education institutions, or device management."
"The technical support is excellent, as they are persistent and thorough with their investigations, extremely polite and patient, and they keep me regularly updated on progress and tentative resolution schedules."
"Ivanti Neurons for UEM has positively impacted my organization by providing customers with tools to scan, perform remote desktop functions, conduct patch analysis, and manage software deployment along with network scanning."
"The security issue we had a few months ago really shows how Ivanti Autonomous Endpoint Management improved things for us; it saved hours and hours of work and hours of research, and we were able to comply with some of the things that the security company was asking us to do within hours, which I believe would have taken us days, maybe even weeks, depending on where the devices were."
"Both in terms of features and operations, this is a good solution."
"From the reporting we receive, we perform patching updates every week with no tickets or complaints from users saying they dislike it or their computers were abruptly restarted."
"The best features Ivanti Neurons for UEM offers include automation capabilities that help reduce manual work and improve efficiency."
"Ivanti Autonomous Endpoint Management has positively impacted our organization by allowing us to reduce the volume of daily tasks."
"A positive impact of using Ivanti Autonomous Endpoint Management on my organization is the ability to perform mass updates in the environment, as today we are able to update hundreds of thousands of computers at once."
"The most valuable features are device management and support for upgrading applications."

Cons

"Policy and app deployment should be faster, as it currently takes between minutes to hours to apply, with an average of one hour."
"The security aspect could be more effective."
"Reporting needs improvement."
"However, Autopilot enrollment is not available for Mac devices yet, which would be a great addition if implemented."
"There is room for improvement in the remediation and detection modules, which are currently about eighty percent fully functional."
"There are areas that have room for improvement in Microsoft Intune, particularly regarding integrations."
"Setting up Intune Autopilot can be a little complicated."
"I'd like to see an ability to deploy more ways of management, managing devices and processing the policies."
"There were infinite reboot loops on some computers, especially during maintenance updates."
"I tried to be a partner of Ivanti and, from this vantage point, the quotes are, perhaps, a bit high."
"Customer support is really poor."
"From my perspective of having just moved away from the product, I would probably give it a six."
"The release of new versions often goes in the wrong direction with Ivanti. The test team or the testing procedures are flawed because they release new versions with numerous basic issues."
"The reports have to show the compliance level of the patching, which Ivanti does not provide."
"The integration between the MobileIron and Advanced Neurons isn't completely in sync, and we're still working on that."
"Regarding Ivanti Autonomous Endpoint Management agent in general, it can seem somewhat laggy."
"From my perspective of having just moved away from the product, I would probably give it a six."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Every customer used to purchase licenses based on their needs."
"While Microsoft Intune boasts a wide range of features, its user-friendliness and bundled licensing cost are key considerations for me."
"Based on the features that it gives, it is cost-efficient. It is not necessarily on the expensive side of the scale. It provides a hefty number of features that any organization would want. It is in a good price range."
"Existing E5 license holders for M365, Intune, and Azure, receive a free license."
"Microsoft Intune is a cost effective choice. It is less expensive than other products on the market."
"Licensing depends on how you are providing support to your enterprise, whether it's device-based or user-based."
"Microsoft Intune is not cost-effective as a standalone product."
"We don't get Intune as a separate module. Most of the time, we use it within an enterprise agreement like E3 or E5. Those licenses are at a good price, but what is annoying is that every single year they go higher."
Information not available
"The solution is expensive compared to other products."
"The price of MobileIron UEM is very good."
"While the price is a bit high, it may be equitable with the features one gets with the product, such as that involving the interface."
"The license can get expensive if you have a lot of nodes."
"For the one that works with SCCM, it is relatively inexpensive at $8 USD per node, yearly. The standalone product has two versions; the one that patches servers is about $45 USD annually and the version that patches workstations is about half that price at $22 USD."
"The solution is affordable."
"My impression is that MobileIron is very expensive."
