Creates versatile applications seamlessly across platforms
I like the simplicity of making panels with Flutter. It is easy to use when you understand the code, know how to use Docs, and understand the components of Flutter. It allows you to create fragments that look good and work on both mobile and web environments. Additionally, it works for both PC and iOS devices.

A low-code platform for the development of mobile and web enterprise applications
To illustrate a case, the customer initially had a private cloud, essentially a data center hosted within it. They needed a disaster recovery solution, which would involve using a public cloud. This situation led to some deployment challenges due to the hybrid nature of their setup. However, once we implemented the solution for them, they were extremely satisfied. The process was not only effective but also quite speedy. To be more precise, we completed it in around 100 days, even though they initially requested it to be done in four months. They were very pleased with the efficiency of the implementation.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It allows you to create fragments that look good and work on both mobile and web environments."
"The most valuable features of FlutterFlow are the integrations and workflows."
"FlutterFlow offers a lot, but one feature that really helps me is the debugging features that allow me to test everything on the spot. This is really helpful."
"I like the simplicity of making panels with Flutter."
"It is a scalable solution...The initial setup of OutSystems is easy."
"The OutSystems' most effective features for speeding up development cycles are the process orchestration and the drag-and-drop updating of business processes."
"One thing I like about OutSystems is that there's no lock-in. You can keep running your applications because it's on .NET and hosted centrally. That's one of the advantages I see there in terms of not having an IT strategy that has a dependency on a particular platform."
"I find it to be a genuinely cool and effective platform for my development needs."
"Our previous solution had other overheads such as release management, version management, code management, monitoring, etc., all of which are built-in with OutSystems."
"Reduces the manual labor in compiling and deploying applications and generating procedural code (by reducing development bureaucracy/processes, resulting in real gains). The LifeTime Server approach, requiring just a few steps to publish applications in production environments, is fantastic."
"The solution helps to build mobile and web applications on SOAP and REST. You can integrate it with backend systems by submitting a code."
"It is a stable solution, and the initial setup is straightforward."

Cons

"There is room for improvement in advanced functionality so it could cater to more complex app development needs."
"Scaling depends on project requirements."
"I am trying to see how it can be integrated with the backend. That said, I haven't gotten there yet."
"The UI components could be more standardized. Sometimes, for certain properties, I have to search more than I do with other platforms. With other platforms, once you know one, you know all. But with FlutterFlow, sometimes you have to look around for what you need."
"One of the biggest areas for improvement is that every time an existing data element is modified, it creates a new data element. It doesn't really modify that particular data element. So, a user has to follow an extra step of removing the existing data element and bringing in the new and modified data element that is being added, which sort of goes into negative productivity."
"The installation is a bit tedious."
"We have performance issues while fetching bulk data."
"Writing custom code still needs to be done via Integration Studio. This might have been added to the IDE."
"The product's high price is an area of concern, where improvements are required."
"While I can't speak to the market impact, as a developer, I've seen significant reductions in development time across different versions of our applications. One area for improvement would be the UI controls in Service Studio. Sometimes, controls don't appear in the IDE, requiring us to check them in the web browser instead. Overall, our experience with OutSystems has been positive, though improvements in UI development would be welcomed."
"OutSystems does not provide any native reporting resources. All reports must be created with other tools or as a webpage."
"Its ability to create and run automated tasks could be better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I would rate the licensing costs a three out of ten, with ten being expensive and one being cheap. Currently, I use the free version."
"It is very high price."
"The tool’s licensing is based on the user’s usage."
"OutSystems is a good solution, but it's not cheap."
"OutSystems is expensive, and they changed the pricing model in the last couple of years. It's changing too much and it's becoming unstable. They are constantly shifting their prices based on users, courses, and other factors."
"I believe they are very strict with their pricing platforms, or the pricing policies, and it changes."
"The product is expensive and I would rate its pricing a seven out of ten. You need to pay a yearly subscription to use the product."
"I would rate it five to six out of ten."
"There is a need to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs attached to OutSystems. It is an expensive product."
