Has strengthened user authentication and remains reliable despite recent license transfer limitations
I love to work with Fortinet FortiToken because it's easy to configure with any user and with FortiAuthenticator. We uploaded it and use it for any authentication with any user, with integration with any device. With FortiAuthenticator, we integrated it with any server, such as Active Directory, and use the token for VPN and other purposes. In the future, we ask customers to use it with FortiAuthenticator, not just the token, as it provides better integration capabilities. When we buy a specific Fortinet FortiToken, we use it on FortiGate only. Fortinet FortiToken provides very important security benefits because it is used to manage FortiGate from outside, exclusively with Fortinet FortiToken. Without Fortinet FortiToken, administrators cannot use or add admin privileges or manage it from outside, as this could lead to attacks or malicious activity.

Useful for making logins more secure by using multifactor authentication but extremely expensive
There is room for improvement in a few areas. Firstly, it lacks support for OIDC and OS capabilities, making it less versatile for integrating various applications. Secondly, there are some limitations in the number of supported applications. Lastly, it doesn't offer an agent-based or reverse-proxy-based approach to integration, which could enhance its flexibility.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"If you're looking for a fast installation, easy deployment, and not much maintenance, this is the solution to go for, but the only thing is that it is good for Fortinet."
"FortiToken is integrated with FortiClient solution for users working from home, providing an additional layer of security by sending OTPs for authentication."
"The initial setup is easy. You receive a QR code via email, scan it, and add it. No complicated procedures involved."
"I would rate the overall solution an eight out of ten. The solution is a smart product that anyone can easily access and manage. The solution is a good product for multi-factor authentication and to secure remote authentication in the corporate environment."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its mobile application. It is particularly beneficial as it eliminates the need for hardware management."
"The deployment is quick and simple."
"The integrated Fortinet security with the app that allows you to easily do the two-factor authentication is most valuable."
"It provides me with the token so that I can do the Multi-Factor Authentication."
"The most valuable features of RSA SecurID Access are push notifications, multifactor authentication, and ease of integration and deployment."
"In house applications access via weblink can be locked down to specific groups or criteria."
"All of its features work well with the cloud authentication manager and the tokens — the authentication manager is good."
"Encryption random key generation and making it available for the user on the fly without any knowledge of the user regarding the keys."
"I would say that the two-factor authentication and the ease of installation and configuration are the most valuable features of this solution."
"With the SSO RSA technology, we simplify the login and authorization process for dozens of web sites with high load traffic."
"It is easy to set up and reliable."
"It is a scalable solution."

Cons

"I do not have any notes for improvement."
"The solution could introduce a mobile application instead of a physical product."
"The problem is that our customers create budgets annually based on the figures at the beginning of the fiscal year. Our customers get annoyed when the price is adjusted in the middle of the year. I understand that it's a difficult time, and price increases make sense for hardware devices. However, FortiToken is a software product, so it shouldn't be affected by factors like chip shortages or supply chain issues. Software solutions should have more transparent and predictable pricing."
"Fortinet FortiToken should improve its push notifications."
"I would rate the scalability a seven out of ten. The migration issue definitely brings it down a bit."
"Maybe the price could be improved, and the integration could be better. But the integration is different from the authenticator side."
"The solution works well. We have nothing to complain about."
"I'm not sure if it's already available, however, I wonder if there's an option to have it sent to my email address instead of having it on the mobile app."
"We are currently migrating to CA Site Minder due to RSA not having a viable SSO solution at this time."
"There are different compliances across the globe; RSA SecurID Access could be more complaint-based."
"It doesn't offer an agent-based or reverse-proxy-based approach to integration, which could enhance its flexibility."
"Sometimes, we encounter issues with other applications that are not compatible with RSA SecurID Access and require expert troubleshooting. At those times, we need additional support from an implementation perspective. This is an area where Oracle can improve as there is no substitute for reliable and efficient support."
"The interface needs to improve a lot. It should be easier to manage and navigate."
"I would really rate the technical support as 4 (in a scale of 1-10). My interaction with the technical support was never good."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is not very high, so I'd rate it around six out of ten, where one is high and ten is low."
"Fortinet FortiToken is not an expensive solution."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a six out of ten."
"Although the platform is relatively expensive, it offers significant value. I rate the pricing a nine out of ten."
"It is included as part of our firewall license."
"I rate the tool's pricing a five out of ten."
"The solution’s pricing is moderate and reasonable."
"The solution’s price is good."
"RSA SecurID Access is expensive."
"I think the price of this solution is reasonable compared to YubiKey and Duo given that it offers the same similar features."
