Has good encryption features
Vera encryption is the most valuable feature.  Additional improvement can be done as the issues are encountered.  I have been using Fortra's Vera for two years.  The stability is a nine out of ten.  The scalability is a nine. The clients are small enterprises.  The initial setup is an eight…

Has provided wide data coverage and supports flexible implementation for growing database environments
Imperva SecureSphere Database Security offers the most comprehensive coverage range of database types, which is a significant advantage. It has very flexible implementation modes and an understandable console. Even someone who is not a database administrator could work with it, understand the security events, and comprehend the data activity monitoring events.Data is the most important asset in any organization and the primary target of hackers. Imperva SecureSphere Database Security provides one of the best solutions to analyze data, maintain GDPR compliance, and help investigate any incidents. It is user-friendly and can start with a small scope. Unlike competitors such as IBM Guardium and Oracle, customers can start with a small scope and scale every year. This advantage allows them to invest less money initially while learning the solution. Year after year, they can add value scope and cover more databases in their organization with high quality. We have been working with Imperva SecureSphere Database Security for about 10 years. I started working with this project about five years ago.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Vera encryption is the most valuable feature."
"The most valuable features of Imperva SecureSphere Database Security are vulnerability assessment, enrichment security policy, and security."
"If an organization wants to do both the cases like I have a database, I have a web server, I want to secure both the infrastructures, I know I can strictly go for the Imperva, and Imperva will give management of two gateways for two different solutions, and that's it."
"The tool happens to be very intelligent when it comes to processing policies and sounding alerts. It allows us to implement policies and measure actions against them, raising alerts accordingly."
"Imperva is a product leader in this line, and it is very good."
"The solution provides significant benefits such as compliance and security. Its data risk analytics tool helps reduce numerous events to more manageable incidents."
"The audit feature is great. It is totally encrypted."
"The solution is very stable."
"Currently, we have audit features for auditing databases, for example, granular auditing, which we really enjoy. We've been using it to check what users do."

Cons

"The additional improvement can be done as the issues are encountered."
"Areas of Imperva Data Security have room for improvement."
"This product needs a good team of UX people, because it's not always that understandable, and sometimes it's straight up confusing."
"They can maybe look at its pricing model. Its pricing could be cheaper for the African countries or developing economies."
"The professional services and customer training aspect needs to be improved."
"It is quite expensive. I would prefer a lower price."
"Its reporting can be improved. The reporting feature is currently not good enough for our clients."
"The development mode on the platform needs improvement."
"Database security from the access management perspective could be better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"It is quite expensive. We wanted it in my former organization, but the price was very high. So, we couldn't purchase it. I moved to a different organization, and this organization has purchased it."
"The pricing is reasonably good in South Africa."
"Imperva SecureSphere Database Security was quite expensive several years ago, but now they provide a subscription plan for licensing. It is available now for smaller and medium-sized companies, not only large enterprises."
"Pricing is low and scalable to add features and volume."
"The pricing over-all depends on the entry level. For example, if support and maintenance are about $20,000 - $25,000, the initial cost can be five times more. It is less expensive for the company to maintain the client than to make the deployment."
"The pricing is reasonable and competitive."
"There is an annual licensing fee for upgrading the device."
"The price is very high but compared to the price of the overall solution, then I think it's a good deal because the solution itself is great."
