Scalable with strong reporting capabilities
I haven't found any specific areas for modernization or improvement in Galen Framework yet. However, one observation I have made is about the auto-generation of Galen files. While this feature exists, functions don't seem to be available for automatically generating Galen values based on the specifications in the spec file, and this could be a potential improvement for Galen Framework.

Automation test development becomes accessible and effective for functional testers
Tricentis Tosca is a codeless tool, making it easy for everyone to understand the transition of how to develop scenarios or test cases. In Tricentis Tosca, analyzing failures is straightforward because every time it fails somewhere, I get the screenshot, which helps me analyze how and why it failed. It has all the modules, including some pre-built ones that can be reused efficiently. Compared to other code tools such as Selenium, where I used to develop one script in one day, with Tricentis Tosca I can easily develop one script in four hours or three hours, saving four to five hours in a day.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"What I like most about Galen Framework are its advantages, particularly its spec language and the spec file feature."
"In the market, not so many tools are able to check the layout with different screen resolutions as Galen can."
"This tool is very easy to use and I think that anyone can come in, having no experience with it, and within four to six months be comfortable with it."
"From a positive perspective, I would want people to use the reporting from Tosca."
"It has helped teams within our organization become more aware of the testing requirements in terms of risk and priority."
"I face no challenges or stability issues."
"We have multiple applications, and it supports parallel execution. It has mobile automation."
"Tricentis Tosca can be easily integrated with SAP infrastructure."
"We decided to go with Testsuite because you can integrate manual test cases and you can see the reports in a nice way and see how the test case is going in the requirement section."
"The most important feature is its ability to support the technical automation of specific clients that we cannot use with other tools."

Cons

"There don't seem to be functions available for automatically generating Galen values based on the specifications in the spec file, and this could be a potential improvement for Galen Framework."
"When I use @Test(dataProvider), it causes a loop; the test result/report cannot accept the value of the data and show it in the test result/report."
"Sometimes new features do not work as shown on slides, in the first release."
"Some issues with stability, but those are minor errors."
"The tool lags in client-based applications. We have also encountered issues with the features in integrations."
"When using it with iOS devices, I cannot start automation directly and must use a remote machine."
"It is very expensive as compared to other tools that we have in the market."
"If you need to improve one of the Tosca engines, you have to develop it in the same language, such as C# and Java, so you need more technical experts to help you."
"Tricentis Tosca could improve on the ease of use. There is a steep learning curve. The reporting section could be better and some of the new features could be simplified. Additionally, the user management of the client and the server are confusing. There should not be two."
"The disadvantage is that it is very expensive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The licensing cost for Tricentis Tosca is expensive. It has multiple features, but to use all of its features, you have to pay for additional licenses."
"It is expensive. There is also the training cost, but it does speed up the process. So, you get a return on investment."
"In terms of the licensing costs for Tricentis Tosca, we are spending more or less $70,000 per year. We have a very complex mechanism because there are some business users and some BI users, so the licensing structure is not simple, but support is included."
"The price of the tool is a problem for a lot of Brazilian clients or Latino clients, as it is expensive. Where I work, if one is low price and ten is high price, I rate the tool's price as a ten out of ten."
"If you are purchasing less than five licenses, then the pricing is high. On a scale from one to ten, with one being low and ten being high pricing, I would rate this solution at eight."
"Tricentis Tosca is an expensive tool and the licensing is not simple."
"I am satisfied with the cost."
"I give the cost of Tricentis Tosca a six out of seven."
