Backup operations have become faster and secure data protection supports diverse workloadsRubrik is one of the leading technologies in the market, but we still have legacy technologies such as NetBackup, IBM Tivoli Storage Manager, and Dell Avamar. Rubrik probably needs to overtake all of these tools so that it can do well in the market. For example, one roadblock is that sometimes the page hangs. The Rubrik UI, and specifically RSC, gets hung. RSC, which stands for Rubrik Security Cloud, is a centralized tool where we manage all of our backups. Sometimes the user interface hangs, or we have a hard time interacting between the user interfaces within RSC. When this happens, we need to reach out to customer service. That is one of the areas where I ask the Rubrik vendor to improve. Rubrik also needs to ingest more workloads down the line. For example, NetBackup can back up around 120 workloads, and I do not think Rubrik can do that. Rubrik needs to ingest more workloads so that we can back up most of what we need. Customers might come up with something new day to day, and we have many thousands of tools and applications right now that need to be backed up. That is how we can declare any tool an enterprise technology. I do not think Rubrik has fully matured yet. It is only seven, eight, or maybe 10 years old, not 20 or 30 years old. For example, Cohesity did something smart. They recently bought NetBackup, and Cohesity is the biggest competitor of Rubrik. Cohesity bought NetBackup so that it could ingest all of its features and improve its market position. I do not think Rubrik has bought anyone recently, and that is something they need to try in a smart way so that they can have more features.
