Have managed daily asset and alert monitoring effectively but have encountered limitations with manual processes and interface usability
It's still very manual and doesn't work on its own. It's still in an early stage and not on par where we can consider it a really successful detection system. The accuracy is not there. The UI could be better when compared to Sentinels where we can use flags and tagging. It could be much more user-friendly. IBM Security QRadar has all features and is fully competitive with other SIEM tools, but when it comes to user-friendliness, a new user takes time to get used to it. More intuitive, user-friendly interfaces and more helpful documentation would be beneficial. The query searching and data fetching could be faster. In large to very large organizations with around 5,000 or 6,000 assets or beyond, even with proper configurations and RAM and hardware backing up, the query is fairly slow.

Technical support is knowledgeable and quick to respond
It is used for compliance Gathering information Scheduling It needs to have better reporting.  More than five years. We have not encountered any issues with stability. We have not encountered any issues with scalability. I would rate the technical support very well as they are…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"QRadar allowed us to concentrate two functions in one place: an extremely fast log manager with a very user-friendly web UI and the ability to correlate events from many different sources."
"IBM QRadar User Behavior Analytics's most important feature is its ease of use."
"IBM QRadar is easy to scale, it doesn't affect the environment. In our office, we have around 40 - 50 users, but our clients have more users on their networks. Our organization has staff in the software department that manages IBM QRadar for us."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"The solution supports MSSP models, which most service providers have, meaning that a single system can be onboarded for all 200 existing customers for monitoring purposes."
"The solution is easy to use, manage, and review all incidents."
"The feature that I have found most valuable is how it monitors the real network; that is its leading security feature."
"This solution has allowed us to correlate logs from multiple sources."
"I would rate the technical support very well as they are knowledgeable and quick to respond."
"We have not encountered any issues with stability."

Cons

"IBM QRadar could improve the plugins and threat detection."
"There could be better integration with the solution."
"IBM technical support is always terrible."
"I have noticed the interface has room for improvement."
"The setup was a bit complex. It was complex because you need to understand the product and they need to understand our business requirements, as all of this is in the setup."
"Basically, your listening agent is at the mercy of the administrators, and for a security device or security software, that is a big vulnerability, because anybody can then go into the server, stop the agent, and then run any command or make any change they want to do, which would make your monitoring null and void."
"I have also been working with other SIEM solutions, and I have observed that they have extensive Linux-based and Unix-based integrations."
"We have had problems with networking."
"It was very complex. There was poor native correlation. "
"It needs to have better reporting. "
"It was very complex. There was poor native correlation."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution's pricing is based on the EPS model."
"The solution has a licensing model that is based on events per second so it scales to need and budget."
"It's very expensive but it fits our budget."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate IBM Security QRadar's pricing a five out of ten."
"The product is expensive. We have purchased the perpetual license, but we pay for the support."
"It's not expensive for the resources that it gives you."
"The price of this solution is a little high."
"QRadar's price is reasonable compared to LogRhythm."
"Do a PoC. Make it detailed so it can help later."

Questions from the Community

What are the biggest differences between Securonix UEBA, Exabeam, and IBM QRadar?
It mostly depends on your use-cases and environment. Exabeam and Securonix have a stronger UEBA feature set, friendlier GUI and are not licensed based on capacity (amount of logs and information in...
What SOC product do you recommend?
For tools I’d recommend: -SIEM- LogRhythm -SOAR- Palo Alto XSOAR Doing commercial w/o both (or at least an XDR) is asking to miss details that are critical, and ending up a statistic. Also, rememb...
What is your experience regarding pricing and costs for IBM Security QRadar?
Pricing and the license of EPS were managed by the governance team. I was not responsible for managing those. I was supposed to put up the requirement of the license needed to integrate that amount...
