Secures critical infrastructures with essential user session audit records
A potential area for improvement is enhancing support for cluster environments and distributed Vaults. Clients in multiple countries that need central access have different challenges that require better solutions from CyberArk. For financial services, CyberArk can improve incident response by ensuring fast support for critical priority tickets to meet compliance requirements. Providing more documentation on CyberArk is recommended for new team members to enhance their troubleshooting capabilities. I understand it's up to the client, but 99% fail to change the demo key, so it's crucial for CyberArk to emphasize changing the key and documenting it as part of the installation process.

Streamline identity lifecycle management with intuitive interfaces and robust policy features
The functions of RSA Identity Governance and Lifecycle, especially the IGA, are quite strong with their custom forms and workflows integrated. The user interface is very friendly and easy to use, making it a good product overall. However, it still has to be on-premise and the cloud version is not easily accessible, as dedicated instances are required and machines cannot be shared as multi-tenant for various customers. The advanced policy features of RSA definitely help in defining certain policies such as segregation of duties. That's particularly useful along with creating different access reviews. Regarding access control in simplifying access management, RSA Identity Governance and Lifecycle has strong foundations of groups and roles, which help in defining all policies very easily. This makes it very easy to integrate with other access management tools or privileged access management tools.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"CyberArk PAS is our go-to solution for securing against the pass the hash attack vector and auditing privileged account usage."
"The value is probably the best of all of the other products which are offering the same services."
"Accounts are managed, passwords change frequently, and we have better audit logs!"
"The most valuable feature is that it always provides flexibility, password quality and one-time user check-in and check-out."
"CyberArk Privileged Access Manager provides granularity. You can break things down into individual safes. You have specific access to safes by individual or group. The interface is with AD, with LDAP, or with local CyberArk passwords. You also have the ability to establish policies for your individual credentials."
"I appreciate CyberArk's real-time capabilities. I can secure critical sessions, such as SSH or database sessions. As a security professional, I have real-time visibility into ongoing sessions. If anything suspicious occurs, I can terminate or freeze the session, which is part of user behavior analytics."
"CyberArk has been easy for us to implement and the adoption has been good. We've been able to standardize a bunch of things. We've been able to standardize relatively easily with the use of the platforms and managing the policies."
"Auditing and control are the most valuable, as you can control password management almost to the max, giving you, your users and your auditors great flexibility without compromising security."
"RSA Identity Governance and lifecycles are good for the access certification and auditing sections."
"Never - one thing I can say about RSA is that the boxes are stable and solid."
"Customer service was always exceptional and if we needed to call the regular customer support number for administrative tasks on the account, they were always helpful and resolved our cases within a few days."
"The data collection is excellent and easy to do."
"The most valuable feature is the security, in particular, the One Time Password support."
"The user interface is very friendly and easy to use, making it a good product overall."
"Soft and hard tokens for two factor authentication has been introduced."
"All of the features in this product are good and this is a product that I recommend."

Cons

"The Vault's disaster recovery features need improvement."
"They are taking two to three days for resolution are too slow. Customers, including myself, do not want to wait this long for solutions."
"The support services could act faster when people reach out to resolve issues."
"To get it to a ten it should give other possibilities to select if you could follow the keystrokes. It should have a flexibility with things where people can use it a lot faster."
"The initial setup was a bit complex."
"The major pain point that we have is the capacity of CyberArk due to the sheer volume of NPAs that we are managing."
"The challenge with the product is pricing since it's expensive. It also needs to improve the customization. We encountered some stability issues as well."
"From what I can see, the Systems Integrator is useless. When I ask for the information, nothing is given to me."
"If you use the appliance version then it won't handle a huge database volume."
"This product is missing a lot of features which other competitors are providing. One of the key features that are missing right now is risk scoring. Additionally, there is not much scope for customization - everything is hard-coded and predefined, so it does not allow the developers to make many modifications."
"It could be a little more flexible with the installation of the product."
"It was expensive initially, but day to day costs are minimal."
"Every connector that you have in the product needs to be custom-built, so there are not a lot of standard connectors available in the product, because of which there are a lot of hidden consultancy costs."
"The stability of RSA Identity Governance and Lifecycle could improve; it has some bugs that need to be fixed."
"We were excited that the self-provision feature was now built into the box but disappointed at the implementation."
"There are scalability issues. This product does not scale very well. It is not a good product for load balancing / active–active architecture."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Licensing fees are paid on a yearly basis."
"Our risk is definitely significantly lower. Also, our resources are low."
"The price of CyberArk support could be a little bit less. Otherwise, pricing is fine."
"I would rate the tool’s pricing a six out of ten."
"If you want a Ferrari, it will cost you. The solution is really nice, so it costs the client, but in the long run, it is very good. If you buy a solution that costs a lot to maintain because it is not stable, and you are frequently asking for consultant support, it costs more."
"The price of CyberArk Privileged Access Manager is expensive. There are no other fees other than the standard licensing fees."
"CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault's pricing is reasonable."
"The SaaS version of CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault is very expensive, but the on-premises version is relative, e.g. depending on the size of the environment, it can be a bit pricey, but it's relatively okay compared to the others."
"I rate the product's price a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"Pricing varies based on user count/number of modules you need."
"We are using the cloud platform, but we don't find it compatible to be served as a multi-tenant platform. This is a large drawback. It becomes expensive because it is then an all-dedicated solution. You have to have a separate tenant for each client, which increases the cost. The overall unit pricing can be less expensive than how it is right now."
