Integrated web hosting has simplified secure services and has supported long-term growth
To be honest, I do not see any major areas for improvement. Perhaps something simple and minor. It should not go more complex than it is at the moment. The only disadvantage I see is that the documentation is a bit difficult to find. There is a lot of configuration that is very hard to get information about.

We use the solution for web services.
It would be good to enhance the schedule interface. There is no indication that lets us know if a module has stopped. Shortly speaking, each business host has color in the Production page. Meanings of colors are described in a "Legend" link on the Production page. Also, each business host either has or has no private pool (processes that work with its queues). When we stop a business host by scheduling, its private processes are killed (if they exist). Such a situation is not expressed in changing business host color. The only way to check if a business host is stopped by scheduling is to check its processes presence.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is easy to use."
"The solution integrates well with most Microsoft products."
"IIS's best features are its management console and stability."
"This is definitely a stable solution."
"It helps scan and mitigates our vulnerabilities using the best protocols to secure our environment."
"Authentication for network appliances, load balancing products and wireless devices became easy to do."
"The solution has been reliable."
"The product is flexible."
"The InterSystems technical support (WRC) is perfect and highly qualified."

Cons

"The scalability depends on how you have set it up. If you're running IIS on a single server, it might not be as capable as if you are on many in a cluster or with load balancing and so on."
"The visibility feature of the product is an area with certain shortcomings where improvements are required."
"The documentation of IIS could be better. They are not easily accessible. I had to use YouTube and other online resources to learn how to use the solution properly."
"The initial setup was somewhere in the middle. It wasn't complicated but it wasn't easy either. The documentation isn't very good and the options are very complex."
"They need to improve their response time and first level support quality because the escalation process takes too long."
"The documentation is not very detailed."
"Finding the correct options are not more intuitive, and it should be."
"The solution's stability needs improvement."
"It would be good to enhance the schedule interface."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The yearly licensing cost is very high. The solution is very expensive."
"I didn't need to get an additional license for the solution since it was included in my server."
"IIS comes along with an OS license from Microsoft. Others can opt for a perpetual-based licensing model to be able to use the system."
"This solution comes included with Windows Server."
"The price is good."
"It is licensed with your Windows installation which makes it relatively cheap if you already have a Windows Server sitting around."
"The cost for IIS is already included in Windows services. We don't have to pay anything extra."
"IIS is expensive."
