Advanced security reporting has protected high-traffic betting platforms from constant attacks
I don't see room for improvement to Cloudflare Web Application Firewall. One thing I don't know much about because we have a dedicated IT team for that, and I'm not involved with Cloudflare much anymore. But if I were to compare them to F5, I would like to see more features that F5 offers. F5 has an option to bring the whole infrastructure, the whole WAF and all their packages, Bot Management, and everything else on your infrastructure. You need to install certain services from their side, and then you can choose if you would like requests to hit your servers immediately or if requests need to be proxied through F5 backbone. That would be a nice addition because we have 90% of the traffic as legit traffic coming from whitelisted servers. If it comes from whitelisted servers, I don't need to go every request through the backbone; I could easily just IP whitelist everything. Then I could maybe have Bot Management on my infrastructure that drastically reduces the price of Cloudflare. I would like to see Push CDN more improved in the next release of Cloudflare Web Application Firewall. And maybe something similar to Pushpin that Fastly has, which is an option where you can push messages that then can be scaled globally over the network. From our perspective, if we have a listener that listens for stock updates, I would just need to have one processor that pushes those updates to the Cloudflare API, and then Cloudflare would broadcast that message to all listeners. Cloudflare will check the order of the message, and if you, as a customer, are not connected or have some kind of network issue, when you reconnect, you will receive the latest state and missing updates.

Strong policies and bot defenses have secured critical APIs and have reduced attack noise
From my research regarding the IAM space that Imperva Application Security Platform is trying to look into, I believe they still need to do a lot of modeling and modification to make sure that also helps. There are several competitors in the IAM space, so Imperva would do well if they can do some basic modeling and modifications from my own personal research and my own experience in the IAM space. Alternatively, they could actually just focus on trying to be stronger in the web application space and the database activity monitoring space. The main reason it is not a perfect ten is regarding support. At times, having to reach the support team takes eight hours to ten hours maximum. There are times when clients could have urgent issues to attend to. The support team could do more by having a faster response rate.

Very secure with an easy initial setup and pretty stable
We are using the latest version of the solution. We sell this solution for financial systems. We're Oracle partners and service providers. We'll present this solution to our clients and give them a benefit analysis of the product so they can see the reasons why they need the solution or why it might help them. I'd rate this solution nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Cloudflare WAF provides protection through rules and functionalities like Cloudflare's SDRAP."
"The integration of Cloudflare with Cloud Suite is its most valuable feature."
"In general, it's a very good product: the solution is very stable, the performance is great, the product offers very good scalability, the pricing is very reasonable, the installation is very straightforward and quite simple, and technical support has a very fast response time and is helpful."
"This is a good product; it's reliable and scales well."
"It's pretty convenient and pretty easy to set up and run. And then kind of for static content, it also offers caching."
"The impact of Cloudflare Web Application Firewall's integration with existing web technologies on our site's performance and security measures is quite great, actually."
"Does a good job preventing web application attacks."
"We like that there's load balancing, firewall capabilities, DDoS protection, et cetera, all covered by Cloudflare."
"The website itself is our first priority and we have seen improvements in that area -- it's faster."
"IncapRules is one of the most valuable features, as you can create your own security and access control rules on top of your security policy. Using IncapRules we were able to easily block Layer 7 DDoS attacks several times."
"The implementation of Imperva Cloud WAF is easy, and because it is a cloud solution with no appliance to install, the actual installation will only take a few hours and full implementation can be completed within 24 hours."
"The availability of our sites, thanks to the load balance functionality, has improved, and it enables the site to be available all the time, despite people trying to attack it."
"The technical support is excellent."
"Imperva is a Gartner leader, so its scalability, performance, and features are excellent."
"There are a number of features that are valuable such as the account takeover and various antivirus features."
"The configurability of the tools and the ease of operation to be the most valuable feature of Imperva."
"Oracle security is excellent for our banking organizations in terms of the security offered."
"The initial setup is pretty easy."

Cons

"A key challenge arises when dealing with numerous integrations with HVAC systems. Depending on the specifics, there might be some configuration mismatches, which necessitate specific support."
"The blocked logs are difficult to read at times."
"Their documentation could be better. They don't have documentation that explains everything well."
"The ModSecurity core rules need to be updated."
"They have some limitations with third-party integrations."
"The notification part could be improved. It's very much connected to Web Application Firewall, rate-limiting, and DDoS protection."
"Support can be challenging at times."
"The user interface is very simple and straightforward, but users need knowledge about DNS to accomplish tasks."
"It's quite expensive."
"We had an issue when securing the web applications for DDoS protection."
"Imperva Web Application Firewall could improve the console by making it easier to use."
"Sometimes, the SSL setup can be a bit slow/inconsistent."
"HTML minification could be improved. The actual HTML minification does not provide the maximum HTML minification nor provides the best result."
"Incapsula: Allow easier scripting of firewall rules."
"The log analytics interface within Incapsula isn't really good. For example, if you have to get all logs from there, it's a very cumbersome process."
"The solution works for particular zones but isn't always the best solution for all zones."
"The solution should have a Data Mask for the next release. It would be helpful for banking institutions as they would be able to hide the server number of the ATM machine in the CPU."
"Technical support could be improved overall."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing model is very straightforward compared to the competition. You just pay per month for the product and usage."
"Cloudflare Web Application Firewall is more affordable than other solutions."
"What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? I believe the pricing is not the best, but it's reasonable and acceptable. We also use the McAfee system in parallel. In terms of pricing, its okay - not great, but not bad either. It falls in the middle, which is acceptable. In terms of support licensing, last time, we were searching for a solution, and we considered products from resellers rather than directly from the cloud provider. However, the pricing we encountered was exceptionally high. As a result, we are inclined to select support from the reseller."
"The solution's pricing option needs to be more transparent for enterprise clients."
"It is not too pricey."
"The solution is expensive."
"The annual licensing fee is $10,000 USD."
"Cloudflare offers different types of subscriptions for businesses, enterprises, and personal users, and the pricing is negotiable."
"The cost is on par with other solutions such as Cloudflare and Akamai."
"The price of this solution is a little bit high compared to competitors."
"The cost of this solution depends on the platform."
"There are a couple of different licensing models."
"We have an issue with Imperva Incapsula in the Iraqi market because of the high price."
"The price of Imperva Web Application Firewalls is expensive compared to others."
"Imperva charges us based on bandwidth, which is better than other vendors that charge us according to data transfer."
"There is a license or subscription renewal that our customers pay."
