Excellent reporting server that is compatible with MySQL
We ran into some quirks that Infobright had. We interacted with Infobright's support and were able to resolve them. There still are issues with data replication - Infobright is currently for one server (unless you buy the Infobright appliance). This would mean that redundancy is something you need to implement yourself.

Running secure internal banking applications has been reliable and supports fast deployments
I am still working with Oracle products. I am still using Enterprise Manager 14c. I am using Oracle Database, Oracle ExaCC, Oracle EBS, Oracle WebLogic, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Oracle Linux. I can answer questions about my experience with WebLogic Suite. I use it in my company. I have not used WebLogic's diagnostic tools. I do not utilize its lifecycle management features. I do not have much experience with WebLogic Java EE support, as I just deploy the application and the other team utilizes this server. I am not directly involved in WebLogic. I have been using Oracle Linux myself. The deployment is local, on-premises. I have been working with Enterprise Manager as well. All the components of Oracle I am using are on-premises. I use Oracle 19c database, Oracle ExaCC, Exadata on Cloud at Customer. I have been using Oracle Linux, Enterprise Manager, and databases as well. I have been working with Oracle Database for about 20 years. My experience has been 100% positive with Oracle Database. I have utilized its Real Application Clusters along with Data Guard. I do not use Oracle's Advanced Analytics and machine learning features right now. I have given this review an overall rating of 9 out of 10.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has very amazing smart grid query feature for very fast aggregate queries across millions of rows"
"We now have multiple times faster queries in comparison to MS SQL."
"The performance of ad hoc aggregation queries is superior to any RDBMS that I have used and I have used them all."
"The high compression and the relatively fast load for a free product."
"ICE helped us improve the speed for the “group-by” query by 10x."
"It is very straightforward and easy to work with."
"Infobright gave us the ability to avoid significant changes in our data structure and just use Infobright like BigDataMySql."
"A valuable feature was the use of a columnar database for large, ever-growing, big datasets."
"In general, Oracle is quite good. It's a large database that houses many applications."
"The most valuable features for us are its capability and reliability; it's the best performing database solution I've used, and it's dependable, rarely going down or exhibiting instabilities."
"I think this is a good solution because it's easy to administer and manage but it requires the right skilled people."
"Oracle is a good database with decent performance, which is fortunate because we are required to use this database for our ERP system. Even if we thought Oracle was the worst database in the world, we would still have to use it."
"Optimization of databases, RAC, Data Guard Replication with Data Guard and RAC Database are the best features."
"The reporting feature was fine for what we were using it for, Oracle Database has been serving its purpose, and I was happy."
"Optimization of databases, RAC, Data Guard Replication with Data Guard and RAC Database are the best features."
"Offers a lot of backup security and is very powerful."

Cons

"Only the data from the columns that reached 2GB will actually decrease. Other columns below 2GB in size do not leave the disk."
"After all the re-work to our product to remove as much reliance on Infobright, and the extra hardware costs we had to absorb, there was definitely a negative return on investment."
"On the contrary, we have switched back to the MS SSAS Tabular Model, because of pricing policy."
"When running a complex subquery, the system hangs without giving the user any response."
"There was no scalability at all. Infobright didn't permit any changes in tables."
"There still are issues with data replication - Infobright is currently for one server (unless you buy the Infobright appliance)."
"MPP, distributed processing!!! And better integration with Hadoop."
"We didn’t purchase the Enterprise Edition because it was too expensive for a product that wasn’t going to replace our main DWH database (Oracle), but was, somehow, only an addition for it."
"The integration could be improved. If you are integrating with other Oracle products, it is fine, however, if your goal is to integrate with third-party products, Oracle isn't as good."
"The pricing could be more cost-effective, as the high price is driving some customers to consider migrating to open-source alternatives."
"The initial setup could be easier."
"The product's price can be lower since it is a bit of an expensive solution."
"We believe that the usability could be improved, especially within the data lakehouse."
"In terms of stability, we know that Oracles releases quarterly batches but we have still been faced with many bugs over the last year. I cannot say that it is stable."
"Oracle Database is expensive."
"Cheap and easy solutions for startups need to be made available."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Our pricing was based on server instances and it was actually very cheap compared to Oracle. I guess you get what you pay for."
"Its cost is astronomical. They charge by the size of the server rather than what you're actually using. It is just a terrible business model. It has got a ton of features that are great, but you have to pay for them, and we don't want to spend a lot of money. If you use any of their additional products, you have to pay for those. Almost everything extra is at an additional charge. We also use RAC, and there is an additional charge for that."
"We have been paying for an annual enterprise license Oracle Database."
"Our licensing costs are between $40,000 and $50,000 per year. Those are the costs that cover maintenance and licensing."
"The main issue where I feel that Oracle still has a problem is with the licensing. Licensing is still expensive and the reason why today most startups use other, cheaper databases. Those other databases are much less sophisticated than Oracle."
"We pay a yearly maintenance fee."
"The price is very expensive for the support."
"The licensing cost is not based on a yearly subscription but rather on the number of devices used annually."
"There is a license required for this solution and it is a little expensive."
