Automation has reduced repetitive endpoint maintenance and keeps our educational devices compliant
Every software has some drawbacks and cons. For Ivanti Autonomous Endpoint Management, I think the first improvement I would suggest is to simplify initial configuration. The process to make endpoint enrollment, device grouping, and configuration easier, particularly for organizations managing different categories of devices, would be helpful. If the initial configuration is simplified, better workflows for shared computers, labs, faculty workstations, and administrative devices would make it easier to apply different software and security policies without duplicating configuration. For my work, I would suggest one improvement that would make my experience with Ivanti smoother than before. I would want Ivanti to clearly explain the root cause when something fails, such as when a patch deployment or automated remediation fails. It shows the error code, but when we are doing a lot of work, it kind of makes a lot of hassle to read the documentation or ask an AI what kind of error it is facing. My recommendation here is to show the issue, show the full explanation of how it is working, where it failed, and show whether the issue can be safely resolved automatically without needing a third party. I think it needs a lot of improvement. First of all, centralized management and scalability can be improved, particularly the ability to manage endpoint configuration, which would be more helpful for my field of work. Regarding scalability, centralized deployment and policy enforcement can help maintain consistency across larger device fleets without configuring every endpoint individually. I think another improvement would be detailed failure diagnostics, flexible maintenance scheduling, controlled policy rollouts, and clearer reporting on whether the fix will cause any issues.

Provides strong visibility, straightforward integration, and reduces the risk of attacks
Legit Security is a product that hyper-focuses on the various aspects of the software development pipeline. For example, if an engineer spins off a new project and stands up a new Git project, Legit automatically detects it, connects Snyk and other tools, and ensures the engineering team doesn't have to think about it. This way, we stay on top of security from the beginning. On the other hand, Legit provides a clear view of the controls around repositories. We have standards requiring code reviews and similar practices, and Legit shows us whether these are being followed. Additionally, Legit helps us identify unmaintained repositories, which often arise when engineering teams try something and leave it behind. This knowledge allows us to determine the appropriate action for these neglected projects. One area where Legit falls short is secret detection. While it functions well overall, the feature has a 10-20 percent false positive rate, requiring some manual intervention. Almost everything else works flawlessly. The true value proposition of Legit lies not in its features but in its ability to support our product security program's focus on creating guardrails instead of toll gates. Unlike traditional programs that require security reviews at specific stages, hindering development flow, we strive to partner with the product engineering team to ship secure code seamlessly within their existing workflows. Legit plays a crucial role in this by automatically notifying us of new projects, eliminating the need for manual communication. This partnership approach, enabled by Legit, allows us to work much closer with our engineering teams than ever before.

Pros

"The solution is a good product and I have heard that the interface is more friendly than that of Windows."
"Automated patch management is the best feature from my personal opinion because it helps identify missing updates and streamline batch deployment, reducing the manual effort required to keep endpoints up to date."
"The best features Ivanti Neurons for UEM offers include automation capabilities that help reduce manual work and improve efficiency."
"We use the solution for security patching of Windows devices."
"The solution is good, it's effective in what it is able to achieve and it's easy to use."
"I can estimate that my team has saved an immense amount of time and resources since implementing automated patch management with Ivanti Autonomous Endpoint Management, where I now manage tasks that previously required a whole team of over 100 IT members."
"A positive impact of using Ivanti Autonomous Endpoint Management on my organization is the ability to perform mass updates in the environment, as today we are able to update hundreds of thousands of computers at once."
"The security features in Ivanti Neurons for MDM are very effective, which is why we have been distributing it for the past 15 years."
"Legit has had a positive effect on our overall security posture."
"We implemented Legit Security to gain visibility into all development teams and ensure that consistent controls are in place and accounted for on every route."
"The true value proposition of Legit lies not in its features but in its ability to support our product security program's focus on creating guardrails instead of toll gates."
"Legit has increased my security posture to a level I couldn't achieve before. I don't need to worry as much about what's happening within my developer environments. I can rest assured that my vulnerabilities are being detected."

Cons

"In terms of areas for improvement, we have a lot of problems with the console. After they do upgrades, there are always some issues; they probably do not beta test enough."
"Regarding how Ivanti Neurons for UEM can be improved, the dashboard can be quite complex for first-time users and even small-scale organizations."
"Ivanti Patch could be improved with better integration with other cloud solutions."
"Ivanti Autonomous Endpoint Management can be improved by ensuring it runs a little more smoothly. It should not lag every single time I have to open a window, and it should not take so much time to load a lot of data."
"Sometimes there is a lag with the environment, and we need to refresh before using it."
"The price being quite high and the limited container storage are areas that have room for improvement."
"I would like to have better support for the application."
"I also found the UI to be quite complicated to work with, so it takes quite a bit of time to train any new staff and to get them to understand how the solution works."
"I would like them to have their own static code scanner, and I'd like them to have their own open-source software scanners."
"Legit Security could do a little better with detecting publicly exposed keys. It's not bad. The detections that they are running get to everything eventually, but it would be great if they could increase some of that awareness."
"One issue is that engineering teams don't always embed secrets in the same way, making it difficult for the tool to consistently identify them."
"The one we're working on right now is the ability to dynamically rerun development teams and groups."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution is affordable."
"My impression is that MobileIron is very expensive."
"The license can get expensive if you have a lot of nodes."
"For the one that works with SCCM, it is relatively inexpensive at $8 USD per node, yearly. The standalone product has two versions; the one that patches servers is about $45 USD annually and the version that patches workstations is about half that price at $22 USD."
"The price of MobileIron UEM is very good."
"While the price is a bit high, it may be equitable with the features one gets with the product, such as that involving the interface."
"The solution is expensive compared to other products."
"The pricing is reasonable."
