Everything has worked better since we started using it
Sometimes the syncing is inconsistent. I'm confident that the devices are checking in every eight hours, but sometimes the devices aren't picking up the settings as quickly as I would expect. Some features haven't been updated in a while, and Microsoft doesn't seem interested in developing them. Unless you talk to an engineer, you don't know whether there will be an update. There are communication issues, so you might start working with a feature without knowing if it will be deprecated six months from now. Some reporting areas still need development. For example, I noticed that the reporting for driver updates is still confusing.

System supports legacy OS and manages endpoints efficiently but requires a more user-friendly interface and improved technical support
Ivanti Endpoint Manager has served us well over the years, supporting operating systems from Windows XP to Windows 10 ( /products/windows-10-reviews ). It provided essential features needed for our operations, including endpoint management and remote control. The licensing was quite affordable when it was an on-premises model. Despite being an older tool, it met our requirements until recent advancements.

Provides enterprise mobility and remote control mobile device management
I would like to see some SMS integration so people can send data directly from a mobile phone through SMS when there's no internet. This feature would be good because there are some places in Africa where the internet stability isn't that good. During the voting process, they send the result through SMS. If SOTI can add the functionality where some of the clients can send information offline, via SMS, then that would be a good improvement for some places where there isn't a lot of internet stability.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"In terms of technical support, you will get an immediate response."
"I can reach devices or computers over the internet. I don't need to worry about the network connectivity between the offices. I can manage any device. That is the most important part."
"It provides control over all mobile devices that are being connected to the corporate network."
"The technical support of Microsoft Intune is good."
"I would rate the stability of Microsoft Intune nine out of ten."
"The stability is good."
"Its protection policies are most valuable. It protects mobile devices as well as individual apps. It is pretty scalable, and its documentation is also pretty good. It is also pretty straightforward to deploy."
"The tool's most valuable feature is Autopilot."
"Ivanti Endpoint Manager has served us well over the years, supporting operating systems from Windows XP to Windows 10."
"The product saves time and money."
"Ivanti is a great product from a security perspective."
"The licensing is simple."
"The keywords menu is better than other MDM. They have an Out of Contact policy, which other MDMs don't have."
"All features are useful. It is useful for preventing the use of unauthorized software on corporate-owned devices. It provides an option to lock the devices for unauthorized software. The devices can only be used under the supervision of the device manager."
"It's been very stable over the past few years."
"SOTI MobiControl is the right solution for customers who want a reliable and low-cost MDM solution."
"SOTI MobiControl is user-friendly and easy to access compared to AirWatch."
"I recommend SOTI MobiControl for its ease of deploying new components and software remotely without onsite personnel."
"It gives us the ability to manage our mobile fleets and push out updates quickly for all of our internal applications to keep the business running. We can push an app update out in minutes..."

Cons

"The technical support could be improved."
"I'd suggest adding more features for macOS in Intune. There should be more functionality for managing macOS. There should be a better capability for pushing things down on macOS. Currently, Intune is not capable of managing macOS at the same level as Windows."
"Microsoft Intune could improve by being more user-friendly and having it geared toward device management. The graphic interface is not very good."
"From an end-user perspective of Microsoft Intune, I haven't experienced any challenges since installation. However, some customers have reported experiencing slowness when using lower versions of the Android system."
"Intune should support platforms other than Windows. We have encountered several limitations, especially when handling iOS devices."
"It would be nice to have a location tracker for the mobile device management tool. I'm not sure if it exists but hasn't been configured or if it's missing, but we've been unable to utilize the location features."
"We only have major classifications for iOS and Android, but there are different brands that have different cycles of updates. If they can fine-tune it to make it more brand-specific, that would be even better."
"There should be more predictability in the release cycle. We don't feel we have any control over when new updates come out, and whether there are changes to the backend functionality or to the user interface. Updates just happen."
"The product's implementation process is in areas of concern where improvements are required."
"Setting up the solution on-premises is difficult and needs improvement."
"Ivanti Endpoint Manager is not user-friendly and feels outdated, which affects usability."
"There are some limitations with the remote control feature, and the interface occasionally experiences issues."
"Improving the reporting section would be beneficial for enhancing the product's overall functionality."
"Customer service is good, but sometimes it is challenging to reach them promptly during urgent situations."
"In the next release, they should make it easier to migrate."
"The quality of the support service is poor. The headquarters are not very responsive. And, the actual quality of the software has its drawbacks."
"SOTI MobiControl could improve by being more user-friendly."
"The documentation could be improved in SOTI MobiControl."
"The previous version, for example, had the networking signal and that feature was great. When we were troubleshooting, we could find the level of the network I/O. If the worker was working in a corner of the warehouse where the signal was not as strong as in another part of the warehouse, we could tell, "Just move a little and you will have coverage for your device." That was great. I don't know why they removed it from the newer version."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is reasonable. When you have Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 license, it is already licensed in that license. So, you could say it is free."
"The cost of the license and the features are justified for myself as a technical person."
"Consider the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite rather than choosing specific sub-components, e.g. only Microsoft Intune."
"Even if they charge a premium, they aim to provide equal value."
"Intune is inexpensive. It also comes bundled in some Office 365 licenses, so you can choose to purchase it separately or as a package."
"The overall pricing of Microsoft Intune is good for companies that have big IT budgets, 3,000 or more users and devices."
"It comes with the E5 plan. We bought the E5 plan from Microsoft."
"I recently got to know that the AD P1 license is compulsory to use Intune Autopilot, which was surprising for me. Earlier, this was not the case. It is the wrong thing to do. We now need to purchase AD P1 licenses for us and for our customers. I would rate it a seven out of ten for pricing."
Information not available
"The price of this solution is high when you compare it with Microsoft Intune. This is mainly because Microsoft Intune is included with some packages, such as Microsoft Office 365. It makes it difficult to sell SOTI MobiControl because of the pricing against Microsoft Intune."
"It's a little bit expensive."
"They've been pretty flexible with us, because we've changed the way we do our licensing a few times. We did a yearly, and then we went back and we did a quarterly, and I think we're back to yearly right now. We've been able to work stuff out and pricing has gone down since the onset. We've got a better rate per device and it's reasonable. The licensing cost from SOTI usually doesn't scare anybody, away once it's explained."
"SOTI's pricing seems to be competitive."
"SOTI MobiControl is a cheap solution."
"The price is average. SOTI manages the price according to the type of client they have. I would rate the cost as five out of ten."
"It makes sense to have scanners on SOTI MobiControl, but it makes less sense to have printers because there are fewer features for them, while the price is the same for both."
"The pricing is reasonable and the licensing model is very reasonable when compared to some of the competitors in the market. I can speak directly regarding Intune, which is very expensive compared to SOTI."
