Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Comprehensive workflows and data views have supported complex teams but still need cost improvements
JIRA Service Management is costly. The pricing structure needs improvement. When I add some plugins, I have to pay the cost for every user whether they are using it or not. For smaller companies, the detailed workflow editing and the kind of details that JIRA Service Management provides would be complex. For startups and smaller companies, JIRA Service Management would be complex. The cloud offering is easier because I don't have to manage the infrastructure. There are two templates of the project: company-managed and team-managed. Team-managed is a newer feature, which is good for startup-kind companies where they don't need control over data from multiple projects displaying in one dashboard. For startups, JIRA Service Management is somewhat complex with its schemes and everything. Capacity management should be improved in terms of additional features in the next release of JIRA Service Management.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Document automation has notably reduced manual effort."
"For a tool that can be fun to use and make people's job better on day one, that is the most valuable feature."
"Overall, I would rate Automation Anywhere a nine out of ten."
"Automation Anywhere can have a significant impact on any company's operation, as it can automate a wide variety of tasks that are mundane, time-consuming, and the least productive."
"We have seen AA bringing immense value to the clients once operational. Bot deployment is easy and controlling Access is easy with RBAC With Recent additions. User groups and user management is on par with tools like Blue Prism & UiPath."
"We can see what the bots are doing when they are working."
"One of the most valuable features is the different possibilities it gives you to manipulate the interface screens that you're working with."
"Automation Anywhere, specifically A2019, has helped us in automating a major chunk of such tasks, thus helped in saving a lot of time, effort, and revenue."
"JIRA can really scale perfectly for our needs."
"Two features I like about Jira are its ticketing system and its compatibility with Confluence. Also, the Knowledge Base is one of the more valuable features that would really benefit us."
"The customization is the most valuable aspect of the solution, as I can customize full workflows and it is very flexible, and we can use mail if we want to open requests as well."
"Based on my experience, you should go for the full Atlassian ecosystem if you are looking for IT service management and workflow management for your businesses."
"I think one of the most valuable things is that it's all integrated, because between the Wiki and the product itself, whenever someone is typing in an error, it automatically pops up a solution."
"I think that people should really go for it because of its ease of use."
"JIRA is an excellent tool that can cater to multiple needs and purposes, and the fact that we can use it for multiple tasks alone makes it scalable and very good at what it does."
"Jira gets the basics right in terms of the Product Backlog and a Scrum Board that Scrum Teams can use to manage Sprint Backlogs."
"The user-friendly solution enables business users to extract data in various formats independently. Additionally, it controls access, allowing for data masking of sensitive information within Oracle. These features contribute positively to the user experience, especially from the perspective of business users."
"The solution's technical support is very responsive."

Cons

"The product falls behind in working with webhooks."
"In the version that we have, there are some challenges with the browser-based applications, the cloning of the objects, and the solution's stability."
"They continue to release new features, but end users struggle to adapt to them."
"One of the important drawbacks of Automation Anywhere is that it needs to be able to show the automated process as a single flowchart."
"Giving access to our internal websites was not simple during the initial setup."
"Automation Anywhere can be improved as there are issues with the recorder, which needs enhancement to extract more fields in the property set to increase reliability across various web application platforms, such as those built on React, React Azure, and React Angular."
"They need to make the AA stable across all browsers and I hope to see it fixed in the next version."
"Automation Anywhere has a persistent click-related issue that can make automation difficult, particularly in unattended environments."
"This solution lacks features for project management. I would like to see more reports."
"JSM's ability to handle large volumes of emails isn't great."
"The product does not have the capability to sort queued tickets by product. This would be useful in making workflows more efficient."
"I would like to see the user interface changed, it is not very user-friendly, and it transitions workflows."
"The way it handles subtasks can be improved. We would really like the ability to have different types of subtasks."
"The solution needs to be integrated better with Office X5."
"Jira Service Management could improve by offering more control similar to Monday.com, such as easier automations, file addition, and sharing with different people."
"The documentation needs improving, it's difficult to find specific procedures."
"The concerns where improvements are required lie in the area of finance revolving around aspects like receivables and the general ledger."
"I recommend enhancing the user interface to make the product more user-friendly for business users. Identifying queries that apply to Oracle technical assessments would be beneficial, particularly for Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) or other specific ready-made packages."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The cloud-based version comes at an increased cost, although our clients are happy with the new features and have not complained about the pricing."
"The cost is anywhere between $10,000 and $100,000."
"Its usage is expensive for us because my user base is mostly in Manila and KL. The unit cost of labor is cheaper there than in the U.S. or Australia, which puts a bit more stress on how to get a positive ROI while continuing to use it."
"It is reasonable, but it can always be a little bit cheaper."
"The cost of this solution is a little bit high, but it is worth the price."
"We have saved time and money using this solution."
"The solution is quite expensive. Not every organization can consider this option."
"Automation Anywhere is thought to be quite expensive, especially for smaller organizations."
"I would suggest to always buy licenses through an Atlassian partner, so you can also rely on their expertise."
"We need a license because we have a higher number than the free part."
"It is one of the premium products on the market, but it is very costly, especially in the Indian market."
"Buying a software solution is only a half part of the solution (or even less). You need to optimize usage of the software by hiring professionals who will help you to make the most of the software, especially in the beginning."
"Right now, there are only two of us who are both agents on the help desk and developers. We might be on the free version because we're less than three agents or users. I'm looking at Zephyr tests, which have a $10 a month flat rate, so right now, it is $10 a month. There are lots of add-ons. They do a free version, a standard version, and a premium version. In the last company, we started on $50 a month. By the time I left, we were paying $4,500 a month. That was mainly because we had 100 users on Confluence. I bought an add-on for Jira software for which we had 10 users, and that was $5 per user per month. It was costing me $500 a month, whereas it should only be $50 a month. I don't know if licensing fee has changed. I'd like our whole company to use it, but the big problem is the licensing because the Confluence side is what is really useful, but if I add 30 users to Confluence and then buy an extension for Jira software, I've got to pay for 30 licenses, even though I've only got two users in Jira software. It is the one big disadvantage of cloud software. You always have to pay for the number of seats regardless of which product you are on. This will probably severely limit how many people would use it because I'm not going to start paying $10 per user per month for a Jira software add-on when there are only two people using it."
"It is a cheaply priced product."
"JIRA Service Desk has different pricing as it is based on agents. On average, the price is about $300 per agent."
"It costs around $150 to $200 per user."
"The tool is cheap, but monthly subscriptions are a bit high."
"I rate the product price a six or a seven on a scale of one to ten, where one is low, and ten is high."
