The ease of installation and licensing are also significant advantages
We use the application filtering, content filtering, and intrusion prevention system (IPS) features. These features are crucial for our network security. The ease of installation and licensing are also significant advantages, as it allows us to have one license for all products, which simplifies upgrading and maintenance. Additionally, the ease of deployment is critical for us.

Enhanced threat detection with integrated security features and good support
We are using application firewalling, WAF, and SD-WAN. The capabilities are mostly within the box. For example, you will get web application firewall WAF as part and parcel of this. SD-WAN is also bundled. It integrates with their SIEM and SOAR solutions very nicely. Lastly, the pricing point is very cost-efficient as well.

Pros

"Juniper is better than Cisco for management."
"Stability-wise, it is very good; this product is very stable and it's proven to be a very good tool for us."
"The ease of installation and licensing are also significant advantages, as it allows us to have one license for all products, which simplifies upgrading and maintenance."
"The technical support has been good."
"The solution has good features."
"The initial setup was very straightforward; there was no problem and the initial deployment took about one hour."
"The support is excellent."
"Easy to maintain. Easy to use. Easy to set up. It is easy for me to go in and update settings, make changes, or add/remove rules or security."
"The top functionality is the reporting feature."
"I think the tool has the feature to detect and kill ransomware in three seconds."
"The capabilities are mostly within the box."
"Sangfor has the best capabilities for securing connections, securing web browsers, securing servers, and general threat protection."
"In our hospital, Sangfor NGAF works well for us in terms of ensuring confidentiality and availability, which are crucial in the healthcare industry."
"The absolute best part of Sangfor NGAF is their support; it's a 24/7 support channel, and the last time I requested their assistance I got a reply within three minutes and they helped solve the problem immediately."
"I think this solution is a very good example of a proactive solution that can detect problems and immediately fix the problems or issues."
"Particularly good in the DPI where we can inspect inbound and outbound traffic."

Cons

"The solution should consider improving its licensing policies."
"It could use more tutorials. I think there's a step missing or the use cases are missing information."
"Some people complain that the solution tends to have a steep learning curve. It could be because most people have basic familiarity with Cisco or other similar products and maybe have never worked closely with Juniper products."
"I would like to see an activity sensor for malicious content or sensor for viruses and malware."
"The solution can be improved by allowing automatic updates for the OS devices."
"The GUI really needs a lot of work, and it has got worse with successive version updates."
"We worked with Cisco's support and Juniper's support and there are some differences, to be honest, Cisco is more available and is more competent at addressing our cases."
"The solution could improve its technical support."
"The tool is expensive."
"It has an issue with the Sangfor Cloud Platform rather than the firewall. When we run a virtual machine, the window tabs display Chinese characters."
"Our experience with its customer support was quite challenging."
"The web interface needs to be improved, making it more user-friendly."
"It would be ideal if the solution offered SD-WAN capabilities."
"Scalability for any network device is not very easy in terms of vertical scalability."
"Sangfor need greater exposer in the market because the market is mainly saturated by Fortinet. The user experience of Fortinet is quite different compared to NGAF. If we want to switch our users from Fortinet to NGAF, we have to convince them that the user experience will be much easier once once they start to use it."
"The setup phase is quite complex."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution is inexpensive."
"We like pricing through the AWS Marketplace."
"The solution could have been cheaper."
"After some research, I think that the cost of Juniper is more than Check Point, Palo Alto, and Fortinet."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"Our experience purchasing the solution through the AWS Marketplace was good."
"As a customer, the pricing is good for us."
"The ongoing licensing cost seems to be pretty standard. There are no additional costs."
"Sangfor is cheaper than competing vendors."
"Price-wise, I would not consider Sangfor NGAF to be a cheap product. It is an expensive firewall solution, though not as expensive as something like Palo Alto, which is costly. However, the higher price point is justifiable given the feature set the tool provides that other firewalls may not offer in a single dedicated appliance."
"If one is very cheap and ten is very expensive, I rate the tool's price as three out of ten."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"I rate the product price as one on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price."
"We purchased one year technical support and return to factory support, and we also purchased one-year technical support services. So those were additional."
"The price falls in the mid-range, neither exceptionally low nor high."
"For four to five physical appliances for a licensed firewall, it costs approximately $4,000."
