Reporting features improve operational efficiency while weekend support needs enhancement
Support is moderate and needs improvement, especially during weekends when technicians perform upgrades. During weekends, they need to provide more support to ensure a smooth transition. There is a call for ManageEngine OpManager to scale better in automation and AI functionality. Although the product stability is good, support enhancement is necessary to enable better planning for upgrades and maintenance activities.

A network monitoring platform with a useful reporting feature, but permission-based options could be better
The initial setup is fairly easy. Most of it's wizard-based. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to set it up. But if you don't know certain things related to protocols and everything else, it might be difficult. If you know how SNMP works, it'll be fairly simple to set up.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Some of the useful features are NetFlow and analytics."
"The traffic monitoring and the traffic analysis are great."
"The most valuable feature is the monitoring alerts, as the administrators are immediately notified and can do the required action immediately, and this is the feature we value and use the most."
"This solution is very easy because the pricing was not that high and the setup wasn't complicated, and it was very good for our environment."
"The solution's network device monitoring is the most valuable feature."
"Flexibility in the two view dashboard helps viewers and admins get the information they need about the fetwork in a flash."
"The most valuable feature of ManageEngine OpManager is the management of the virtual machine and the host machine."
"We use the solution to monitor links. It also helps us to track servers and monitor logs."
"Reporting on NetCrunch is pretty good; it's very similar to SolarWinds, just with a different interface, and the majority of everything there was beneficial."
"The setup is very intuitive and quick - it all just took a few minutes we were done."

Cons

"For the implementation part, I am facing issues when configuring the business view; when I create the business view, I experience problems with the port interface and get confused about which interface is connected to which endpoint."
"This product is little bit slow sometimes."
"The licensing model is confusing."
"Based on the high cost, I'd rate the solution six out of ten. I don't know if I would recommend it."
"OpManager is slow but that just might be the server we have it on. I don't think that's the problem but I don't do the server. But it is slow. When you're interacting with it, it could be more nimble and could be faster."
"The support of ManageEngine OpManager could improve. We had two issues and the support was not able to solve our issue."
"You cannot resolve 100 percent of the issues yourself. You would need to reach out to the support. It needs to be cheaper."
"This product is little bit slow sometimes. It may be that we need to change the configuration to improve performance."
"I didn't care for the role-based, permission-based options, which were not the best."
"I didn't care for the role-based, permission-based options, which were not the best."
"Our network is made up of a lot of Cisco devices, and it needs improvements."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing is on a yearly basis and the pricing is on the cheaper side."
"Pricing for ManageEngine OpManager depends on the number of nodes you onboard and whatever pricing is reflected on the ManageEngine portal which offers discounts from ten percent to fifteen percent. It purely depends on the sales volume and the negotiation. In my organization, there are about one thousand two hundred nodes which cost around $29,000 per year. There's no additional support fee or maintenance fee from ManageEngine OpManager. Pricing for the solution is highly competitive and I would rate it five out of five. ManageEngine OpManager is one of the most competitive options out there."
"ManageEngine OpManager is cheaper than SolarWinds."
"The price of ManageEngine OpManager is reasonable. We have an annual license and the cost comes from how many devices are being monitored. There is not anything extra cost for maintenance and support."
"The solution is highly affordable"
"ManageEngine OpManager has a three-tier licensing model."
"The price for ManageEngine OpManager is average."
"We had perpetual licenses. The cost was around 36,000 for OPManager, and then you'd have the yearly maintenance fee of 2,000 or 3,000."
