Deployment recovery works well but requires configuration improvements
While I do not use the product frequently, many issues were due to configuration rather than the product itself. I cannot give an exact recommendation as it is not my area of responsibility. The team that uses it finds it adequate. It is presently good enough for us not to investigate other options. Overall, I rate the product a six out of ten.

Offers comprehensive monitoring and tool consolidation but integration complexity needs improvement
There is room for improvement in the speed of setting up the service and integrating PowerPacks. Although these prebuilt features are great, there is considerable complexity in bringing them together to create a unified dashboard. Even with many good integrations and deep visibility, the implementation takes time, especially when it doesn't involve these integrations. While some other companies have easier APIs, using this solution demands significant expertise. It's challenging for new customers to implement independently. The implementation speed of non-PowerPack or non-out-of-the-box integrations should be improved. Additionally, the AI automation feature is not yet very rich due to resource constraints supporting a wide platform.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Software deployment and WSUS are most valuable."
"Microsoft Configuration Manager helps with patch management."
"I like a lot of the reporting capabilities and baseline configurations."
"Microsoft has done a good job with authentication solutions, such as single sign-on, or open authentication."
"Endpoint Manager is valuable to our organization because it allows us to connect to our enterprise from remote locations securely. The most useful feature is its robustness and scalability. It is highly scalable and flexible, allowing us to use it in various environments. Additionally, we can specialize the policies related to each device group. This ensures that each group has access to the applications they need for their work and non-work hours."
"I manage software updates and operating systems for devices, and within seconds, we can remotely deploy a system for, say, 2,000 devices. Not only that, but we can also deploy scripts and create comprehensive compliance rules."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager is it's incredibly simple to configure and execute changes in bulk, allowing for seamless deployment. With this solution, you can easily track the status of all modifications and send them with ease, making it a comprehensive and efficient solution for any necessary adjustments."
"I like its ease of use. It does what you need it to do, and it's a one-stop-shop for the company and for all your deployments. If you incorporate Intune into it, you can have both. You can bring your own devices and corporate devices, and everything runs out of SCCM and Intune."
"The best feature is the highly flexible graphs."
"Best feature of all is detailed monitoring of services, processes, ports and SSL certificates and or web content."
"The tool is quite easy to deploy, and it offers very good support."
"ScienceLogic allows us to create and customize a user-friendly dashboard."
"It is simple."
"The most valuable features of ScienceLogic are AI and machine learning."
"The flexibility to support most technologies. The way ScienceLogic gathers data from multiple sources is vital to our customers. As we work with new customers (often with different technology requirements), ScienceLogic is flexible enough to support our clients’ varying network needs."
"When it comes to features, the power pack is the most valuable."

Cons

"In spite of us being a premier customer we find the support unsatisfactory."
"On some hardware, we'd like an easier way to get peripherals attached."
"The solution does not support remote devices so the CMG is still required."
"Troubleshooting in general needs improvement. There's just a ton of logs to go through, and so finding the error log that corresponds with that you're doing can sometimes be difficult."
"I would like to see more automation."
"The deployment process is lengthy and should be quicker to complete."
"The product needs to improve scalability."
"I'm looking for a single solution for all discovery needs. It fulfills about 40% of the requirements, and I'd like to see the other 60% so that I don't have to keep doing this."
"It was challenging onboarding users."
"ScienceLogic does not have application monitoring. We definitely need something integrated within ScienceLogic to monitor applications so that we don't have to rely on monitoring tools to monitor other applications. At least the ones that are market leaders, such as SAP, Oracle, and others."
"They should add CLI command modes and scripts for high performance."
"There is room for improvement in the speed of setting up the service and integrating PowerPacks."
"Admins do not have direct access to the reporting."
"Integrating observability and APM monitoring into the overall portfolio would be beneficial."
"ScienceLogic is working towards a kind of AI, DKAIRA enablement, but I find one dependency is the frequent need to rely on professional services."
"The product must educate its strategic partners for deployment."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"SCCM comes with its own version of SQL Server. If you use that SQL Server with SCCM and don't use it for another applications than you get an SQL Server for free."
"The solution operates on a licensing model that can be expensive."
"There is an annual license needed to use the solution."
"We have to pay for a license."
"The licensing is good because they have various options, depending on what you are looking for."
"Presently, I am using a free trial version."
"Along with buying a license for MECM, we also have to buy a service called CMG (Cloud Management Gateway) which is a virtual machine in the cloud with which you can link your MECM to the Azure tenant so as to manage teleworkers."
"For enterprises, there is an annual license required to use this solution. The price of the solution could be cheaper. However, this is mostly because of the exchange rate from the dollar to the Nigerian currency."
"Plan for adding more to it. Once you see EM7 in action, you will want to keep adding systems to monitor."
"Its price could be lower, but for what you pay, you got a lot of value from its features and functionalities. Customers always want a discount or a cheaper solution."
"Pricing between the two is quiet large therefore you can save some money if you don't require to collect all info on each device."
"My company has an enterprise-level contract with ScienceLogic, so it is available to my organization at a good price."
"The pricing model for ScienceLogic could improve."
"Decide what you want to monitor and only monitor those items. Absorb other elements as you grow."
"I'm not the best person to discuss pricing, but what I do know is that it's a use-and-go structure. You use this much storage and pay this much for it. That's how it is. Every time, we continue to add a large amount of data to the environment."
"The license of ScienceLogic is based on how many endpoints are used. The number of monitoring points you want to have."
