Efficient email management with seamless integration
We previously used Microsoft Exchange but have moved to an MDN email solution due to cost and user growth Microsoft Exchange is a user-friendly and easy-to-deploy solution, which is beneficial for handling emails even without professional support. It is effective in managing email integration…

Great security, stability, versatility, expandability and low cost of ownership.
I like the ease of login best in GroupWise. With the desktop client you can login to GroupWise independently of the PC login and it has Web Client that can be used if your prefer not to install the client or are using a PC that does not have the GroupWise Client installed. I also like its user proxy capabilities. I also like the level of security that it provides. Additionally, it comes with GroupWise Messenger for secure instant messaging to desktop or mobile devices. It integrates well with the email on your mobile devices and smart phones via GroupWise Mobile Services.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The initial setup is very simple."
"On-premises Microsoft Exchange is good because it protects data privacy."
"For me, the solution is very user-friendly. I've used it a long time and I know where everything is."
"All features are useful; they meet the purpose of an email server."
"It's an excellent product from Microsoft. It provides more flexibility to the end-users. As it's connected with Teams, it also enables collaboration."
"It integrates well with calendar, scheduling, etc. It's easy for employees to make meetings and plan their agendas."
"Microsoft Exchange saves time by allowing users to send emails or set schedules instead of making calls or holding meetings."
"It is easy to set up."
"Very secure with great storage capacity."
"The solution is very flexible and has great storage capacity."
"The cost-effectiveness of the solution is most valuable."
"I would advise others who are looking into implementing this product to go for it."
"I like the ease of logging best in Micro Focus GroupWise. I also like its proxy capabilities from a user level. I also like how secure Micro Focus GroupWise is."

Cons

"An improvement would be to combine Exchange and Teams so that emails, calls, and chats can be integrated into one window."
"Load balancing is lacking."
"If it was the same product, and slightly cheaper, that would be amazing."
"In terms of probability, every now and then there are changes coming and going."
"I see some drawbacks and areas for improvement; the quarantining is not fantastic because it lets a lot of spam through, and when it is notified of spam, it does not particularly alter its behavior quickly."
"The licensing model could be improved."
"The price of Microsoft Exchange could improve, it is priced high."
"The solution could be more user-friendly."
"What I don't like about Micro Focus GroupWise is the removal of the Unix client. Micro Focus took that function away about ten years ago because there wasn't enough demand for it."
"Their support can be improved. It is not as good as it used to be."
"The WebAccess feature is somewhat lacking and could be improved."
"Their support can be improved. It is not as good as it used to be."
"Customer support did what they could but we had some issues because it required coordination between GroupWise and SUSE Linux or the Micro Focus storage support. It became a ping pong between these two parts of the same company and was unpleasant."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Microsoft's licensing structure is too complex, but its prices are affordable, though not cheap."
"The product pricing is reasonable if you utilize its full suite of features."
"I don't have enough information about the licensing costs of Microsoft Exchange, but I do know that you need two types of licenses to run it. You need the product key and the client access key to activate Microsoft Exchange. This means that apart from the standard Microsoft Exchange licensing fees, you have to pay additional costs."
"The platform has a reasonable price."
"This solution is expensive."
"Compared to the other options in the market, the licensing costs attached to Microsoft Exchange seem reasonable."
"It's a little bit expensive."
"The solution's pricing is fine...I do think the tool offers value for money."
"It was a part of the suite, so it was very cost-effective. There were no costs beyond the licensing fee."
"Micro Focus GroupWise is the most affordable solution on-premises. Versus Microsoft Exchange on-premises, pricing is 20:1, so there's no comparison. Micro Focus GroupWise is cheaper, though, for my clients, it's not about the cost but the stability and security of the solution."
