Centralized management has simplified our home Wi‑Fi setup and supports multiple users reliably
Given my experience with NETGEAR Insight Access Points, my piece of advice for other organizations considering it is that they have to look at the rest of their system because NETGEAR Insight Access Points is quite useless with anything but the Wi-Fi system. I rate this product an 8 out of 10.

Reliable wireless coverage has supported busy operations and has improved daily connectivity
We have areas that are interference-prone. I am not using BeamFlex technology with Ruckus Wireless. We are satisfied, but there are some problems in the current Ruckus Wireless solution that we could not solve two years ago, and we are still waiting for a solution. These are lateral management problems, and we solved them with another type of tools. However, I do not know if the new versions of the product have resolved that issue. We had approximately 150 access points at that time, so we had many points to change. We had another solution five years ago, and we changed all the access points to Ruckus Wireless solution as well as the Ruckus Wireless platform to manage all the access points.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"My advice would be to go ahead and switch to this one, because this is the best-performing device I have seen so far."
"I find the centralized management of NETGEAR Insight Access Points very beneficial because we are using five access points, and it is quite useful to be able to manage them centrally."
"The GUI is pretty stable—I haven't had any issues go down—and it's pretty user-friendly, enabling me to remotely make certain changes via my phone and apply them right away, which makes life easier when it comes to managing the equipment."
"The initial setup of NETGEAR Insight Access Points was straightforward."
"We use NETGEAR's Insight management solution to do off-property controls. It is user-friendly and provides network management, monitoring, and service deployment across multiple remote and local sites. That means I don't have to be physically at a location to do things if I want to make any changes to the network. It saves time and money."
"With the Insight management solution, it is awesome that you don’t need an additional cloud controller, appliance, network manager, or PC/server to configure and manage your access points."
"Our company sometimes uses the solution's technical support, and we have seen that they sort out our general problems quickly."
"The metrics demonstrate that NETGEAR really does a good job of balancing the load between the various access points on the networks and this results in an elimination of downtime."
"In summary, I think that Ruckus is a good product."
"The most valuable feature of Ruckus Wireless is the Beamforming feature."
"Very reliable."
"I am familiar with the brand and it works well."
"It gives you the whole user session, and you can tell that the client connected at the traffic post."
"The product does a very good job of covering specific areas using less equipment than other providers."
"It ensured our Internet service was always up, allowing us to serve our customers 24/7."
"We belong to the hotel industry, and in the hotel itself we have deployed WiFi fully throughout the establishment and so far it is working perfectly."

Cons

"Managing users could be improved as it is quite difficult to block someone, and it is impossible to block someone on one specific access point."
"Software-wise, they need to provide the ability to kick users out."
"The biggest issue I've had is that it works very well with the WiFi, but it does not offer any assistance at all with the routers. You can't control them or manage them at all. As soon as you want to use anything on the network side—because I have multiple 28-port switches—you can't manage them using this app."
"The pricing and standard connectivity can be further improved."
"The biggest issue I've had is that it works very well with the WiFi, but it does not offer any assistance at all with the routers."
"While the data throughput does provide us with full insight into data being used, we find that it's not very accurate."
"A con is the backend system which is very, very slow."
"When it comes to features needing improvement, the WAX610, WAC540 and the WAX610Y do not reliably stay online and this is especially true of the WAC540."
"The solution currently lacks the integration of security services."
"The solution is a bit expensive."
"It is very difficult to convince the customer to choose Ruckus because of the price."
"Sometimes doing mass changes on their products can be challenging."
"They can improve the cloud portion. Other vendors have a cloud controller, and they can provide the same so that we can see everything."
"There is some strain with Ruckus because of various buyouts involving the company used for data centers and the cluster."
"The solution lacks a lot of features other solutions provide. If you are an organization that is more focused on security or you need a lot of other features, such as location tracking then Ruckus Wireless may not be the right choice. If you want a solution with more than basic security I would choose Arista or Aruba."
"The biggest adjustment improvement will come from a price adjustment because the price is quite high; it feels like premium pricing."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Their pricing is perfect for smaller businesses who are money and budget conscious. There are a lot of other solutions out there that are two to three times more expensive."
"We have some basic models they give without a license."
"I can source the stuff pretty quickly wherever I go through the distributor. There is pricing available at NETGEAR if you can spend between $2,000 and $5,000 on a solution. So, there is special pricing that they can help with. The vendor's reps are very responsive. They have a good channel system."
"It is an expensive solution."
"My company does not need to pay anything related to the solution's licensing costs."
"It wasn't much more than 100 dollars a year. For the devices that we have, the pricing was pretty fair."
"For what you get, the price of Insight access points is very reasonable."
"The pricing seems to be reasonable."
"The setup that I have at the moment does not require licensing, although I am not sure whether a bigger project will mean that I have to spend more."
"I would rate their pricing 3 out of 5. There is no annual licensing cost."
"The price of Ruckus Wireless is more expensive than other options."
"It is a pricey solution."
"It's definitely a good value. It's more expensive than some of the other offerings out there, but when you compare it to other enterprise-class gear, it's very well priced. And the beauty of it is, because it has better range because of their patented BeamFlex - which is the way they can send and receive and listen to signals - you can actually use fewer access points. That means that it's a cheaper overall project."
"I rate the product price as six to seven on a scale of one to ten, where one is a low price, and ten is a high price."
"Ruckus Wireless is available at a reasonable price"
"It's a lot more expensive."
