Real-time alerts have reduced server outage impact and support fast incident response
In the dashboard, if they could show a little more metrics regarding the application and related things, that would be how New Relic could be improved. Currently, there are things showing from the server level and application level, but it can be improved. That is what I felt. Regarding user interface, I do not feel much concern, but for some kind of issues when we are trying to get support from the New Relic team, their SLA seems to be long. They are taking seven to ten working days for resolving some kind of scenario or issue. That is a bit difficult for us. If they could improve the customer support by reducing their SLA within three to five days, if they could remediate everything, that will be so much helpful. When it comes to the customer support part, I felt they need to be a little more improved on that part. The support overall is good, but they can improve. That is the reason I have given it eight out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Insights with key transactions and response time, to understand which calls take the longest and where the bottlenecks are."
"Its greatest benefit comes from its ability to provide trending/marketing data."
"We have done the New Relic integration with Serverless AWS, which has helped us with monitoring, and keeping our monitoring from our on-premise part with the cloud part."
"NewRelic provides a one-stop shop monitoring solution for organizations that are looking for 360 degree monitoring solution: Application, Infrastructure, Network, Database, Enduser monitoring, Mobile everything under one roof."
"It gave clear information and a complete picture of what was happening in our system, which helped the operations team in performing the required actions."
"New Relic has helped us in terms of optimizing our print and loading times, and it has solved many of our performance issues."
"Using New Relic, we can showcase business KPIs data and compare it with trends from the last month or year, easily check whether our business performance is declining, stable, or improving, as well as the revenue generated from our website, and analyze this data efficiently if we are sending it to their platform."
"In my experience, New Relic is one of the best APM tools."
"The product can scale."
"Everything that is around the digital performance environment, I can see."

Cons

"There has been some problem with the agent, and it is just not working well. It is not able to record information with the application server. They have been able to fix the issue, but it took quite a long time. This is the main issue in the APM products and also in New Relic. The mobile application monitoring has been pretty difficult to set up and also quite expensive. It should be a little bit easier and cheaper. Because it is pretty difficult and expensive, many customers don't take it."
"If we can find a way to communicate the need to use it, we use it, but we want a way to hand it off to our clients easily."
"It would be nice if there were pre-made dashboards. There should be out-of-the-box options that you can have."
"The licensing cost is a little high and it should be brought down."
"All the information is there, but sometimes it’s hard to figure out what it means."
"Sometimes the UI feels like it is not that much user-friendly for any new user who is using New Relic."
"Perhaps the retention on some of the old problem traces would be an improvement."
"It’s generally stable, but last year it was a little flaky."
"I can't recall coming across any missing features."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is neither cheap nor expensive, and I believe that it is a competitively-priced tool."
"Cost is significant with a lot of extras."
"The pricing is okay comparatively their competitors. The only concern was whether it should be purchased on demand or bring your own license, and which way passes some savings onto the end customers."
"The price of the solution could be less expensive. You have to pay a lot for each user. There is an additional cost for extra features."
"The new licensing model is great, as we pay for what we use (in computational units). However, the pricing is expensive compared to other tools."
"Comparatively, the pricing is expensive."
"We feel it's a little bit pricey."
"The price of New Relic APM could be less expensive. We are using the New Relic APM pro account and it is more costly. When compared to competitors the solution's pricing should be much more realistic."
