Real-time monitoring and seamless integration enhance deployment efficiency
The main disadvantage I see is the limited awareness of Nolio Release Automation in other organizations. It is a very nice tool, but its market presence is limited. I heard from the organization that the licensing cost was somewhat expensive. Perhaps focusing on marketing efforts would be beneficial. It is a really nice tool, and I am unsure why many organizations are not using Nolio Release Automation. It is one of the greatest tools for continuous deployment, yet its popularity remains limited. Some organizations are not aware of its existence. This might be an area worth researching and potentially developing new marketing strategies.

Easy to set up with intuitive UI and good reliability
I haven't used support. Since it is on-prem, our tech support would manage to troubleshoot. There might have been instances where there have been some issues with the on-prem version that I don't know of. Our tech support may have touched base with the. However, I don't have that level of visibility.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The graphical view of when you're writing flow is the most valuable feature."
"We previously used a different solution, and CA Release Automation really makes life easier as follows: it has a large number of available actions, deployment pipeline and approval gateway features that increase security to the deployment flow, and it integrates with service desk tools."
"The release time has gone down from a number of days to a few minutes."
"It’s an enterprise-class continuous delivery solution that takes release automation to the next level, providing an agile and collaborative application delivery chain."
"We now have, instead of three-hour deployments, they're three minutes."
"It now takes around two hours for us to deploy any product, whereas it used to take close to two months, including preparation."
"With CA Release Automation, the customers whom I worked with were able to increase the number of deployments, increase the deployment speed, increase the number of concurrent deployments, lower the error rate, and improve the visibility and the reliability of the deployment process."
"It is a very good product and can help the organizations in the long run, which will lead to higher customer satisfaction."
"The rollback feature has been most valuable; we can write scripts from scratch, and Octopus maintains an independent package for every deployment."
"This has always been our choice for continuous product development."
"It's a deployment tool; it does one thing, and it does it well."
"The UI is very intuitive."
"Deployment is valuable. It deploys well."

Cons

"It is possible to have a lot of execution servers, but you can’t put them in a balanced pool of servers."
"I would suggest that, rather than just concentrating on release automation and management, this tool could provide for more automation in different areas, such as database automation (we already have this but still can be improved further)."
"The challenge that we've got within our company at the moment is that we're in the process of trying to roll out a cloud. It's trying to understand how Release Automation fits with that because I think it's getting very on-premise focused until now."
"Mainframe automation is one of the biggest challenges for us and currently the product doesn’t address it."
"Some of the existing action packs still have bugs which need to be fixed."
"The system seems unstable as we are constantly having to re-connect execution servers and agents that go offline."
"It does not support integration with Jenkins for .Net"
"Stability is an area for improvement."
"This solution could be improved by making it easier to divide variables in YAML file or JSON files."
"You've got to jump through a few hoops to get some things configured, but if set up, you can do so many different things in it. So, there is complexity."
"There could be scope for more integration with other platforms."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Nolio is a pretty much good tool, though its pricing is relatively high in the market. It's more expensive than other tools."
"I don't know the exact cost, but it's not exorbitant. It may be a couple of thousand dollars a year or something like that. I'm not sure, but it's reasonable. We get value for money out of it."
