Centralized control has strengthened privileged security and simplified audit investigations
While One Identity Safeguard is a strong and reliable PAM solution, there are a few areas where it can be further improved to enhance user experience and scalability. Regarding the user interface and experience, the UI, while functional, can be a bit complex for new users. A more intuitive and modern dashboard with simplified navigation would improve adoption, especially for non-technical stakeholders. Regarding integration flexibility, although it supports major integrations, expanding out-of-the-box connectors for more cloud-native apps, DevOps tools, and SaaS platforms would be beneficial. Faster and simpler API-based integrations could reduce deployment efforts. Regarding scalability and performance in large enterprise environments, performance tuning and scaling can require additional efforts. Enhancing seamless scalability and high availability configuration would improve enterprise readiness.

A stable solution that provides data protection and employee monitoring features in a single console
If a person wants to use a DLP product, they must know what data they want to protect and how to block, allow, and monitor data. We will not have any issues if the policies are correct and the user is authorized to perform the actions. Uninstalling is also pretty quick. Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"One Identity Safeguard is stable and provides great performance."
"One Identity Safeguard makes password manageability easy and helps us monitor and reduce manual tasks such as auditing and improving log visibility, while also providing compliance-based reporting for our upper management."
"There is ease of implementation. Compared to other PAM solutions, it is easy to implement and use from an administrator's point of view."
"Overall, my experience with One Identity Safeguard has been very positive, as it is a reliable and secure privilege access management solution that effectively protects sensitive accounts and provides full visibility into administrator activity, with minor improvements needed in terms of UI and reporting enhancements."
"One of the real benefits of safeguarding here is that the client will have an absolute audit of who is using an administrative interface, whether it's server or network."
"One Identity Safeguard has a noticeable positive impact around security and operational efficiency, providing secure, strong security, real-time monitoring, and full visibility."
"The most unique and valuable features are the upstream and downstream throughput capacities; the Safeguard platform provides agile integration. In actuality, all the features are valuable. They're good, user-friendly."
"We are able to log and get reporting on all privileged activity that is being performed. We like the fact that we can leverage the session recording feature, which is especially valuable when we're dealing with third-party vendors that have to remote into our our boxes and servers to do any work on behalf of the bank. Now, we can record everything they are doing to ensure that they're only doing the changes that were needed. In addition, we use it to leverage knowledge transfer with our internal staff."
"The product provides data protection and employee monitoring features in a single console."

Cons

"I rate customer support six out of ten. It needs improvement as it can significantly impact customer access."
"Many team members feel that the biggest friction with One Identity Safeguard relates to access requests, session approvals, and policy changes, which require more clicks than expected."
"We would like to have the option of importing assets by using the CSV file. It was available in the earlier versions, but it is not available now."
"While One Identity Safeguard is a strong privilege access management solution, there are some areas where improvements can be made."
"Documentation can be much better and they should provide typical use cases to get started more easily."
"One Identity Safeguard could be improved with a more user-friendly interface and simpler initial setup, as the learning curve can be somewhat steep."
"Support for One Identity Safeguard could be improved because sometimes the support team doesn't have an answer or solution for some bugs. A feature I found in a competitor would make One Identity Safeguard better, and that is the ability to load balance the traffic in the target."
"I find it complicated to implement HTTPS monitoring because the documentation is unclear."
"The user experience should be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The license is very expensive for us, partly due to inflation and partly because of the exchange rate between the Dollar and the Iranian Rial. We purchased a perpetual license that we've been using up until now, but I believe that we are not going to update it in the future. Instead, we plan to find another third-party to support us with the license, in the sense that we would have access to their license as a shared agreement."
"The pricing depends on our perspective, our budget, and, of course, the competitors we are taking into account."
"It was definitely cheaper than the other two products that we evaluated."
"The full license is expensive but if you plan to use it in a big organization then it is the best option because it is more flexible."
"It is more expensive than Secret Server but way less expensive than CyberArk. As a customer, I would like the pricing to be lower, but it has a good price point."
"They have comparable pricing. All identity products are essentially priced in a similar way. It's a per-user base."
"Its subscription cost is too much, and sometimes, it is very difficult to pitch the solution to the management for cost approval. If the cost is reduced a little bit, it would be easier. If its cost was less, many other organizations that currently cannot afford it would be able to use this technology. I'm sure many organizations around the globe are having issues with identity management, and it is a very difficult task for IT to manage privileged accounts."
"One Identity Safeguard is expensive and the cost goes up as we scale."
