A stable and scalable hybrid solution with easy setup
The solution is scalable. It has three levels. You have the presentation area that can be escalated to the balance sheet. You have the back-end area that can be escalated using higher viability to configure more application servers. Also, the area of storage can be increased. We usually cater to enterprise solutions but have small- and medium-sized customers. It starts with 25 users and goes up to 100s and 1000s.

Threat detection is effective, and the solution provides good control over device access, but it still needs better troubleshooting options for agent-related issues.
From an improvement perspective, I am looking for a way to troubleshoot situations where the endpoint agent becomes corrupted and requires reinstallation, as there is currently no option to resolve these issues without rebooting the system. I give it a rating of seven because, in today’s scenario, the portal is complicated to navigate. The Trellix Endpoint Security Platform dashboard is somewhat difficult to understand, and it takes considerable time to familiarize oneself with the tools and policies compared to other solutions. For on-premises deployment, I would also like to highlight that the architecture is quite complex, which is an area Trellix Endpoint Security Platform should consider improving.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Data Recovery: Its ability to repair damaged partitions and uncover hidden partitions from within the tool, and allow further analysis."
"The technical support is excellent."
"The solution is very stable."
"It speeds up the process, so I can meet my deadlines."
"It indexes much faster, and is more reflexive because of the Enscripts."
"I like the processing feature on the product because it does everything at once, i.e, indexing, recovery, keyword searches, etc."
"The most important feature we've found is the Enscripts. That is one powerful feature that I, personally, love to use."
"The new central console is better than the earlier one."
"Trellix Endpoint Security is a proven, robust, and cost-effective solution that protects the organization from different types of ransomware and attacks."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is its simplicity."
"A big advantage of McAfee Endpoint Security is the ability to manage very big environments. We are supporting environments with 200,000 to 300,000 endpoints. The ability to manage with one single console is very important for us. McAfee has phenomenally improved in terms of detection. It provides real-time detection and response with the error, Real Protect, and reputations. It is not only based on signatures but also on behavior analytics, artificial intelligence, or machine learning. We have environments that never had issues with ransomware in the last 20 years. McAfee has a very good performance in this field."
"The thing that I like is that they have gathered almost all the products in one management server, the ePolicy Orchestrator."
"McAfee MVISION Endpoint is stable."
"The most valuable features are the adaptive tech on McAfee."
"The threat scanning is excellent. It uses predictive technology and I can utilize attack data to help us fine-tune our systems and network infrastructure. This protects us against current and future attacks."

Cons

"Ease of use and learning curve need improvement."
"Sometimes the application can take more time to complete the image processing or fail at the end of the process."
"I would like to see a capability to ingest and absorb more data. That would be really good. It currently is lacking this function."
"We have come across problems with the end-case. We could not find an email discovery type of module and there was not flexibility with the email."
"There were minor UI bugs."
"The reporting is a bit unreliable. It needs to be better."
"In the past, incident response time for tech support was slow."
"It would be a lot easier if I could add multiple user accounts within a single device."
"Intrusion detection and intervention seem to be falling behind the competition."
"I would like to have the ability to have more control over the deployment in the next release. If you have this console in the cloud, you cannot make pilot groups for deploying the agents. We only have the current group. So, as soon as you inject the software, it will go directly into production, which doesn't work for us. We need to build up pilot groups slowly. We already requested to have this feature on the cloud, and we are still waiting."
"The product needs to reduce the usage of RAM and CPU."
"Search feature could be made more user-friendly."
"The solution consumes a lot of end user memory and CPU. Trellix doesn't really focus much on the anti-malware side."
"I would like to see more local integration for the applications that we use."
"If you have another endpoint product running on the same machine, you have to fine tune functions from FireEye to avoid performance and user experience issues."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is affordable and user-friendly."
"EnCase is an affordable solution."
"We have a license. And, we found the cost high. We contacted them and talked to them about the ratio of the US dollar versus the Indian rupee and then we came to a solution."

"Licensing fees are paid yearly."
"Pricing for McAfee MVISION Endpoint is not very good, and I would rate its cost three out of five, though I won't be able to mention how much its actual price is."
"The pricing is great and licensing fees are billed on a yearly basis."
"I think Trellix is more on the higher side of the market, just on a general scale, but I also think it depends on what particular package you choose."
"The price of the product is similar to the ones in the market that offer the same features."
"I rate Trellix Endpoint Security a nine out of ten for pricing."
"The current pricing is much better than before because they now offer product-related promotions along with some changes in product licensing. The new pricing model is better than before."
"We pay for the license on an annual basis."
