A well-established product that meets all our specifications in terms of usability
In the initial stage when we went with Data Integrator Cloud Service it was primarily the nativity factor that was key for us. Having a single vendor supporting the entire suite of applications, and the ability to configure activities and direct integration with various other Oracle products, were the main attractive features within ODI. This is a well-established product that's good to have if you hold an Oracle suite of applications. It meets all our specifications in terms of usability.

Interactive dashboards have transformed reporting and now support real-time data-driven decisions
One area that could improve in TIBCO Spotfire is performance with very large data sets. I use the advanced scripting feature less often, but the visualization and dashboard features are very useful in my daily work with TIBCO Spotfire. TIBCO Spotfire can be improved in handling very large data, faster dashboard loading, simpler advanced scripting, and better customization options for visualizations. Integration with some external tools in TIBCO Spotfire can be smoother, and the user interface for advanced features could be more beginner-friendly. A more intuitive navigation system, a cleaner interface, and an easier drag-and-drop option for report building would also make it more useful.

Pros

"The solution is easy to manage and offers good integration. You can run all the tasks one by one which is really helpful, and pick the day and time to do so."
"This is a well-established product that's good to have if you hold an Oracle suite of applications."
"The most valuable thing to me is its simplicity. A person with zero knowledge can also develop the integration without having extensive technology knowledgebase. They can also work on creating their own integration."
"The solution is very stable and it's great once you get it working correctly."
"Oracle integration cloud has got the adapters for all their products, which makes the integration a little faster and makes it easier to implement the integration quickly."
"Having a single vendor supporting the entire suite of applications."
"Oracle Data Integrator helps us build tables and data marts and allows us to schedule them daily, for nearly real-time data warehousing."
"It's on the cloud, so it's scalable and quite easy to work with."
"TIBCO Spotfire integrates with R and Python, offering a differentiator from the competition."
"TIBCO Spotfire is a strong and reliable analytic platform that delivers good value for organizations that need advanced reporting, dashboards, and data-driven decision-making."
"Driving details visualizations is the most valuable feature of this product to me."
"We save many millions of dollars."
"Spotfire will offer very fast enterprise data and visualization capabilities in a short amount of time."
"The best features TIBCO Spotfire offers in my experience are advanced analytics, real-time analytics, excellent dashboard creation, and complex data exploration that allows us to make sense of large bodies of data."
"I have found it an easy API to learn."
"Compared to Tableau, it is much more powerful in terms of statistics and analytics, but Tableau is more popular, so there is more support for it online."

Cons

"It's lacking a lot of mapping features that Oracle OSB and SOA have. It needs to evolve a lot."
"The solution could be improved when it comes to bulk uploading; there are problems with it when you hit the upper limit."
"Licensing costs for this Oracle solution are expensive. ODI forms an integral part of the overall PaaS solution and becomes a kind of backbone for that particular service, which is painful because from a PaaS perspective, the licensing costs just shoot off the roof."
"The solution is expensive."
"I would like to see different cloud adapters or connectors in case of integration. When you have Oracle to Oracle, they are good. They have really good connectors, but if it is a different ERP, like Obsidian, that is where they are faced with problems in OIC."
"I've found technical support not very effective. They should work to improve their services."
"The pricing could be more competitive."
"This is an expensive solution compared to other products on the market."
"The initial setup can be difficult."
"There's one area I see that specifically needs improvement. That is when you do the data loading; it is slow."
"Story Telling features aren't intuitive as much as Tableau and some of the features are segregated"
"Technical support is average; however, the user conferences that are held regionally and nationally provide a lot of value."
"Spotfire needs to allow for more of a database feel when using multiple data files."
"TIBCO Spotfire can be improved in several areas. The UI can be enhanced, and the usage and flexibility need to be better compared to other analytical tools."
"Technical support and customer service is 5/10. For technical questions, their support team is responsive and thorough, but their account managers tend to be nonresponsive, and have high turnover."
"Sometimes the Spotfire client crashes when you test a Python script."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is competitive compared to Boomi which is much higher."
"The Tibco sales teams have been very difficult to work with - ignoring requests, misrepresenting level of demand, etc."
"The cost is a few hundred dollars per user per year."
"This product carries a monthly licensing charge, with the amount depending on the features that are to be included. This costs also covers the use of technical support."
"The ROI is nearly impossible to calculate."
"I would describe TIBCO Spotfire as an averagely-priced product."
"The price-point for this solution is negotiable depending on usage levels."
"The solution is affordable one."
