Running secure internal banking applications has been reliable and supports fast deployments
I am still working with Oracle products. I am still using Enterprise Manager 14c. I am using Oracle Database, Oracle ExaCC, Oracle EBS, Oracle WebLogic, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Oracle Linux. I can answer questions about my experience with WebLogic Suite. I use it in my company. I have not used WebLogic's diagnostic tools. I do not utilize its lifecycle management features. I do not have much experience with WebLogic Java EE support, as I just deploy the application and the other team utilizes this server. I am not directly involved in WebLogic. I have been using Oracle Linux myself. The deployment is local, on-premises. I have been working with Enterprise Manager as well. All the components of Oracle I am using are on-premises. I use Oracle 19c database, Oracle ExaCC, Exadata on Cloud at Customer. I have been using Oracle Linux, Enterprise Manager, and databases as well. I have been working with Oracle Database for about 20 years. My experience has been 100% positive with Oracle Database. I have utilized its Real Application Clusters along with Data Guard. I do not use Oracle's Advanced Analytics and machine learning features right now. I have given this review an overall rating of 9 out of 10.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"From a database product perspective, I would say, they're good in what they provide. There's not much concern."
"The solution can scale well."
"I am not an IT person. I am an end-user of this solution, and based on my experience, it is comfortable to work with. Everything is okay, and the data is timely available. It can also be easily integrated."
"In general, the product is strong enough and offers high performance."
"It's a very stable solution, especially with the hot backup."
"It is stable, and its performance is good. Its interface is also fine."
"The solution's most valuable feature is the row-level security that helps mask and encrypt data."
"We find the solution to be stable."
"The most valuable feature is compatibility with the Oracle database."
"Tibero is very easy to setup and maintain."
"Tibero uses Hyper-Threading architecture, which is incredibly fast."
"Tibero is a relational database management system, which supports disaster recovery, active cluster, active storage, etc."

Cons

"The client-side of Oracle Database could improve. The client graphic user interface works on Java and sometimes it freezes, these should be fixed."
"The features should be communicated to end users in the proper way."
"The product must provide an autonomous database."
"Security is an area that needs to be improved."
"They need to work on non-relational data a bit more. If Oracle Database can support non-relational data streaming, it would be great."
"Oracle Database's migration capabilities could be improved because it's very difficult. So even if you migrate where you host your data, be it on Windows SQL Server, there is a problem because migrating the package is highly complex. The technical support could also be faster."
"The initial setup is a bit complex."
"Their support portal requires a person to become well-trained in how to use it. They are pretty good at handling absolute critical emergencies, but with the exception of absolute critical emergencies, getting problems solved from their support system is difficult and takes a long time."
"In PL/SQL code, there is a scope of improvement. We expect more PL/SQL packages should be included in the next release."
"The knowledge base is quite small and should be expanded."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing and support pricing for Oracle Database is a bit expensive, as it is a top-of-the-line product. We'd like for its price to be lower."
"The pricing model could be better."
"We need to pay an annual subscription for the solution, which is moderately priced."
"The price of the solution could improve."
"It is expensive."
"The price of Oracle Database is too expensive and especially for individual environments. The pricing model is not clear, if I want to run it on a virtual environment, I still need to license the whole physical box."
"The price of Oracle Database could improve, it is expensive and they are paid annually. We are looking for lower pricing and flexible pricing plans, they are very rigid in the price."
"The license is inexpensive."
"The price of Tibero is cheaper than that of Oracle."
"The overall costs are very low compared to Oracle."
