Unified vulnerability data has reduced risk and currently cuts duplicate tools and license costs
Seemplicity can be improved by adding additional graphs and charts that make it easier to do trending over time. I had to do some of that manually via manual reports, but Seemplicity already has a feature request for this. Seemplicity has done a pretty good job of keeping up with integrations. One gap that I identified and that Seemplicity is trying to fill now is having a complete end-to-end mapping. Seemplicity currently looks at the external attack surface using tools like Censys, and then looks at the internal side, examining what is in AWS and other clouds using CSPM. However, there is not anything that currently ties a property on the outside to a system on the inside, especially when you have additional security layers like web application firewalls that actually mitigate the risk.

Automated testing has reduced manual effort and improves remediation of critical vulnerabilities
The biggest friction point with Pentera is the need for more granular control or the ability to exclude specific sensitive systems, as well as the necessity for the cloud environment to mature. While Pentera excels in on-premises and hybrid setups, its AWS and Azure attack path simulation is not as deep compared to others. If I could change one thing in Pentera to improve my workflow the most, it would be the platform UI because some security team members are not penetration testing specialists, making it difficult for them to navigate. I would make it easier with more guided workflows.

Has improved our vulnerability tracking and supports cloud-based monitoring with scheduled scans
We don't have any issues with Tenable One Exposure Management Platform. It works well for us, but the only problem is the licensing aspect. In the license, it becomes problematic because when we go to cloud security for vulnerability management, it will take five licenses instead of the one-on-one license that vulnerability exposure management requires. The license needs to be reviewed.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"Seemplicity is doing amazing work, and organizations were able to better meet their SLAs, better communicate to their leadership and executive level about the overall risk and exposure levels, and overall have a better understanding of what they are dealing with."
"I think of Seemplicity as a fantastic company and a fantastic partner to work with."
"I was also able to pay for the tool twice over by using it for tool rationalization."
"Seemplicity is helping us generate immense ROI in terms of helping secure our infrastructure, applications, endpoints, and understanding vulnerabilities that we really did not have a good process of understanding before."
"We have seen improvements in remediation rates, as initially a lot of our metrics were in the red, but now all are in the green or yellow."
"Seemplicity has positively impacted my organization by helping reduce the overhead for our SecOps team to manually create vulnerability tickets."
"Before we really struggled with meeting SLAs that were in place because we did not have the information we needed and there was too much back and forth, now we nearly have a perfect SLA meeting time."
"The biggest impact Seemplicity has had on my organization is turning what used to be a fragmented, manual process into something structured and accountable."
"The product is easy to use."
"The best features of Pentera are the dashboard and security, with the dashboard being excellent as I can see everything, and it is really simple and easy to work with, which has made my team faster, more efficient, and improved teamwork significantly."
"Surface provides automated validation and penetration testing features with a proactive, continuous, and highly realistic approach to cybersecurity validation, helping organizations understand and reduce their true cyber exposure."
"We moved from a reactive security posture to a proactive one."
"The platform's most valuable features are credential management and vulnerability management."
"The vulnerability scanner, exploit achievements, and remediation actions are all great."
"What I like the most about Pentera is its solution-oriented approach."

"The product gives us a lot of insight."
"For me, the setup has been an easy process."
"We find Tenable One Exposure Management Platform vulnerability prioritization effective overall because, with the scheduled scan running on our set schedule, we can remediate any findings and check on the next schedule if issues are closed, making it much easier for us to monitor vulnerabilities."
"I think it's a good product for risk-based or exposure-based vulnerability management."
"The feature of vulnerability management and discovery is what I use."
"The solution is very easy to set up."
"Tenable EP is a great overall product for our customers; it's great at helping customers to identify current risks, it helps customers manage their risk, users can effectively analyze risk and can assign team members to take a look at items as well, the solution is very easy to set up, technical support is very helpful and responsive, and the pricing is pretty good."

Cons

"Every tool, including Seemplicity, can improve, and I think it needs to further enhance its deduplication capabilities and understand how to integrate with more security tools, especially as new AI security tools emerge."
"The capability out of the box today is decent, but over time, if we can allow users and organizations to build their own view and how they want to report on things, that would be a great value add."
"For Seemplicity, I would say two things for improvement. First, reporting customization could go further because this industry is evolving; the CEO tries to get much information that they are looking for."
"Seemplicity could use more improvement around the user interface."
"Seemplicity could be improved with some of the aggregation accessibility. Currently, it is a bit of a black box and can be a bit of a bottleneck."

"The automated penetration testing features must be improved."
"One area for product improvement could be the inclusion of a dashboard to cover multiple branches and subsidiaries, allowing for centralized monitoring."
"There is room for improvement in virtualization compatibility."
"Pentera's general dashboards could be improved and made more specific in terms of vulnerabilities that I'm discovering."
"The licensing and IP management need improvement."
"The biggest friction point with Pentera is the need for more granular control or the ability to exclude specific sensitive systems, as well as the necessity for the cloud environment to mature."
"The licensing and IP management need improvement. When the IP is imported into a system, we cannot withdraw or revoke the license."
"It would be nice if the product provided an agent for enforcing policies."
"Tenable needs to provide a better way to manage private clouds."
"The product has limited reporting capabilities and it isn't great at allowing for customization in reports."
"The sensor update is a challenge that Tenable needs to address. Sometimes they behave abruptly, requiring me to rework reinstalling the sensors on the endpoints."
"The license needs to be reviewed."
