Weekly insights and risk analysis facilitate informed security decisions
I appreciate the weekly insights Zafran provides, which include critical topics for networks and IT security, allowing us to evaluate which insights apply to our environment. The organization score feature is valuable to keep the leadership team updated on how our infrastructure fares security-wise. The applicable risk level versus base risk level feature is beneficial because prior to Zafran, we only used the base risk level, but now understand that risk depends on the asset itself. Zafran is an excellent tool.

Good visibility but expensive and needs better support
Support: It's often overseas and often following a script, basically asking us to redo what we opened the case with. Multiple APIs: There seems to be a lack of easy onboarding into Qualys. We had to use manual inputs and some API calls to get items in place. Dashboard: It is very rudimentary with very little customization. The Qualys Scripting Language (QSL) works differently in different Qualys modules, so when you get it working in one area you have to modify the syntax in others. User account management: We often have to give users more rights than needed just to give them what they need. Integration with the various Qualys Modules: You can tell the UI is different based on of the different teams that created them. QSL syntax same in all modules Responsiveness of some of the components: They time out, you get a blank screen, etc. Backend updates between the various modules: You update connectors and information takes a few minutes to show in VMDR or Global Asset View Connectors: Connectors have a throttling issue with AWS which causes them to frequently fail unless you manually run them again.

Provides proactive threat remediation, reduces alert volume, and enhances incident response capabilities
During our pre-purchase evaluation of SentinelOne's EDR capabilities three years ago, we were consistently impressed by the positive relationships customers reported having with SentinelOne's engineers, sales teams, and customer success managers. These strong relationships, evident in the customers' unsolicited feedback, highlighted the "soft skills" and intangible qualities that SentinelOne possessed. This positive customer experience has been mirrored in our own interactions with them. Their responsiveness to our needs, particularly when addressing a couple of challenges we faced, has been excellent. They proactively scheduled weekly meetings to demonstrate their commitment to resolving our issues, a customer-centric approach I admire. SentinelOne's dedication to customer service, including their rapid technology updates and responsiveness to our suggestions, has been crucial to our success in protecting our organization. Their ability to quickly incorporate our needs into new releases is truly impressive and sets them apart. Overall, I highly recommend SentinelOne based on our positive interactions across all levels of their organization.

Pros

"Zafran has become an indispensable tool in our cybersecurity arsenal."
"Zafran is an excellent tool."
"Qualys VM is very stable."
"Technical support is fantastic."
"The most valuable feature is the connection of threat intelligence information with identified vulnerabilities, which means you can prioritize vulnerabilities according to actual attacks."
"It is a stable solution."
"Qualys VM has allowed us to know the vulnerabilities we need to prioritize based on the threat levels and the possible impact if there's an intrusion."
"The vulnerability management feature is what I used the most. It is a good SaaS product. It is easy to use. It has a nice UI where you can see all the assets and vulnerabilities."
"This solution gives us insight into our environment and improves our security. It helps us to maintain a good patching system whereby we know that XYZ is vulnerable within the system."
"The most recent is VMDR, which provides a comprehensive overview of how to detect, patch, and remediate specific vulnerabilities."
"Incident response is one of the key areas where the solution has been very useful. Whenever there is an incident, instead of being reactive, the government is now able to quickly gain the data that it needs to see what its end agency is also seeing and partner with them in real-time to look at the same data and to collaborate where needed, empowering the agency to be able to do their job."
"The XDR capabilities are very good."
"One of the top things we're interested in is cloud protection."
"Behind the scenes, SentinelOne has real people who evaluate problems and mark them as false positives. That's what I find most helpful."
"The effectiveness of their AI and behavioral analysis helps mitigate zero-day activities and detect new threats."
"SentinelOne stands out due to its AI capabilities, which lead to excellent prevention."
"The biggest value for us is getting a much better picture of what our risks are."
"I like the detection and protection features. We don't need to do anything, and it will alert us when the mitigation is not successful. We only need to target those endpoints. Otherwise, we don't have to do anything about that."

Cons

"Initially, we were somewhat concerned about the scalability of Zafran due to our large asset count and the substantial amount of information we needed to process."
"The tool needs to improve the adding assets and report generation features. I would like to see the policy scan of offline appliances in the product's future releases."
"The IoT scan is not great."
"Qualys currently does not have any features for scanning SCADA, IoT, and Industrial Control Systems."
"The reporting needs improvement. It should generate much more stuff like field reports."
"In terms of improvement for the web application console, in the older version, things were more segregated and presented in a brief format."
"Qualys VMDR identifies vulnerabilities and suggests fixes. However, it does not automate patching unless the patch management module is purchased separately."
"The disadvantage of working with Qualys is that the graphical interface is quite outdated."
"The reporting section needs improvement as running reports can take several hours."
"Our engineers are dealing with issues to add exclusions to the antivirus for custom applications."
"One area for improvement would be the self-healing nature of the agent."
"The solution's query resolution time could be reduced further, and a faster resolution could be provided."
"To enhance our already strong partnership with SentinelOne, we should focus on improving collaboration."
"SentinelOne Singularity Identity could be more user-friendly."
"We haven't received the expected support whenever we've had questions."
"There is a clear roadmap for improvements, including enhancing capabilities with AI and seamless functionality in an MSP model for deeper visibility across multiple agencies. Further development is anticipated to continue enhancing the solution."
"The resolution turnaround from SentinelOne Singularity Identity's support should be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Qualys VM is quite expensive. It's a subscription-based license, and it's yearly. Right now, it's open for me, and I don't have any limitations or caps on the licenses. They are seeing if the product is viable for 4500 users. I can add as much as I want, and at the end of the subscription, they'll let me know how many licenses were actually used and bill me accordingly. On a scale from one to five, I would give their pricing a three. It's still expensive."
"They have recently changed the pricing model, which is now better than it was before."
"The solution is expensive."
"The tool's pricing is expensive and I would rate the pricing a seven out of ten."
"It's very expensive, especially if you want to use multiple modules of Qualys."
"The price is very reasonable."
"When you want to cover yourself for scalability, you will be charged for the number you place on the scan itself."
"Qualys VM is reasonably priced."
"There is a need to make yearly payments towards the licensing charges associated with the product...I think the prices associated with the product are okay and it is not too expensive."
"Compared to competitors, it's well-priced for the quality offered, and I don't see anyone surpassing them in that regard."
"The price of SentinelOne Singularity Identity is relatively high, but it offers numerous features and capabilities that make it well worth the investment."
"The pricing is a bit high."
"Their pricing has been fair, especially in the current market, and they haven't excessively increased prices at renewal times like many vendors do."
"Ideally, I would like SentinelOne to lower their prices a little bit."
"The price is affordable."
"The cost of SentinelOne Singularity Identity is better than CrowdStrike."
