Advanced protection has secured critical web workloads and provides clear traffic visibility
From a security perspective, there remains a security loophole, as some browsers in the market can bypass the Turnstile solution, which requires approximately 40 seconds to do so. From a performance perspective, this is acceptable. We also tried Google reCAPTCHA, and that can also be bypassed. From a security perspective, I would say neither solution is completely secured. Regarding uptime, we have faced a couple of incidents due to Cloudflare in recent years, so I cannot say we receive 100% uptime for our region. We sometimes face challenges, including downtime and other issues. As a result, we are not receiving 100% uptime from Cloudflare's solution. Since most of our customers are in this region, we need alternatives. We need something more competitive than Cloudflare. Unfortunately, in Bangladesh, Cloudflare has three points of presence already, and we cannot find any other solution provider in Bangladesh as an alternative, which presents another challenge. Competitor solutions have more attack signatures, which ensure better security compared to Cloudflare's predefined configurations. Customers do not have options to modify any configuration parameters in Cloudflare, whereas other competitor solutions, such as F5 Distributed Cloud, allow customers to tune configurations according to their requirements. Cloudflare could improve in this area. Additionally, regarding visibility, Cloudflare has static visibility, but they could adopt dynamic graph features for their customers.

Advanced protection has optimized web and API performance while reducing infrastructure costs
From the features perspective and functionality-wise, there are areas of Radware DDoS that I would like to see improved or enhanced in the future. Version upgrades are being provided, but they should communicate with clients about these new features being available so clients can test them and deploy them on the disaster recovery system before moving to the live segment. There should be a test report that will provide confidence that the version is stable and everything will work properly. Last time we faced an issue with a version upgrade, and we faced extensive troubleshooting with littile bit more time in the troubleshooting process. It turned out to be a small issue that was resolved by the engineering team. I would like to see improved support from Radware DDoS. Sometimes in support, we have to log the call with their support partners rather than Radware. After ten years of experience, we know exactly what the issue is, and we understand that it cannot be handled by their support channel or partner level. Radware team always asks us to go through the partners, but sometimes we have found that the issue cannot be handled by the partners. After the partners fail to resolve the issue, it goes to the Radware team. At that time, one to two days of required timeline gets increased by one to two days. If Radware came into immediate action and resolved the issue rather than relying on their service partners, it would be better. After ten years, we have the knowledge of troubleshooting, and we understand that the issues we are facing with Radware can only be resolved by their team. However, due to their policy, they insist we move through the partner first, and only after the partner fails do they escalate to Radware. During that troubleshooting period of twenty-four to forty-eight hours, we remain in an unresolved state with the reported issue.

A cost-effective choice for website security and informative support with issues related to CDN quality
One area where they could improve is in providing real-time support options because now you need to open a support ticket and wait for their response. It would greatly benefit customers if they implemented an online chat or messaging system for quicker assistance. I have found their Content Delivery Network service to be lacking in quality, and it could certainly be enhanced to provide better performance. I would also like to see improvements in the deployment process, as it currently takes more time than desirable. Another significant concern is that their service when your website is down, turns it into a static site. This means that if customers try to visit your site during downtime, they will see old content from the static site, which is not ideal. The CDN and tracking services are areas that need improvement, as well as addressing their bandwidth limitations.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Cloudflare has positively impacted our organization by giving us flexibility to manage the DNS part, being quite fast, and allowing us to manage everything from a single dashboard, which is quite handy."
"If you don't want to spend too much time hosting your own DNS server or managing the domain, Cloudflare is a great way to rapidly get websites and services online."
"I have not had a DDOS attack since, or at least not become unavailable due to DDOS which means my ROI is pretty good."
"The solution offers the flexibility to control configuration rules."
"Cloudflare has made management of my website much easier by combining various functions in one platform without compromising quality."
"The most valuable feature of Cloudflare is that it has a free version. They give us the free version with the anti-DDoS features and also the load balancing solution."
"Its most significant benefit to date is the speed with which it refreshes DNS records on the internet once you change it. If you are changing a website or registering a new record, it is very quick."
"The solution is a great fit for customers who want unlimited bandwidth."
"I would recommend Radware DDoS Protection Service fully because I have observed improvements in bandwidth speed."
"I am happy to see that we have not had any DDoS attacks. This solution has successfully protected us from attacks, and no one has been able to attack our network."
"I would recommend Radware DDoS to other users because in security, there are many layers of protection, and this is one of the most exposed regarding the internet."
"The best feature of Radware DDoS Protection Service is the automation. Previously, manual intervention was necessary, and for incoming attacks, we had to inform the respective security and operations teams, whereas now, it is an automated process that blocks attacks based on policies by default."
"The most important thing for me right now in the Radware portfolio, is that Radware went to the cloud and has a flexible model based on virtual machines that can be delivered in our data center model, which could be delivered via the public cloud."
"Radware DDoS can reduce our bandwidth and provide the required performance, handling SSL encryption, decryption, offloading, compression, DDoS protection, and reverse proxy so that with only four to five servers we are properly optimized, getting excellent two to three millisecond response times and avoiding additional infrastructure investment."
"It ensures both security and performance. It achieves this by learning behavior patterns and providing protection without blocking normal traffic."
"Radware DDoS's behavior-based detection technology is the best thing I have, as I do not need to worry about any new forms of attack that are not pre-configured for filtering because it can create its own signatures based on the quota values I set for each protocol."
"It significantly eases the workload and streamlines the initial setup required to protect a website."
"Domain name scanning since it allows us to scan all our domain names and determine whether it has malware or if is reported as phishing."
"The most valuable part is the analytics and visualization."
"The initial setup was straightforward. Straight forward because the plugin can simply be installed and then it does its job. It's not complex, there is no learning curve. The online scan is simple, you put in the website address and the scan gives us a report on the browser itself. It's simple to use."
"I use it as a WAF, which is basically a web firewall to monitor and block traffic to our web server."
"For people who own a personal website, this solution is worth trying out since their security solution is somewhat full-fledged."
"Rather than locate some things manually, the Sucuri plugin scans and allows us to pinpoint whether there is malware or some problem in the site."
"The initial setup was very easy."

Cons

"The documentation could improve for Cloudflare DNS."
"Cloudflare could offer a better view or maybe dashboards of the main resources used in the client."
"There are some issues with the CDN services."
"For large enterprises, the pricing is okay. However, the enterprise price for small projects is a bit high. A mid-tier pricing option would be beneficial."
"I think they have failed with their technical support."
"The pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Cloudflare are a bit on the higher side overall."
"Honestly the product has not really improved the way of my organisation."
"Flexible SSL is nothing more than an illusion of security that you're presenting to your visitors."
"To improve my ability to monitor security events, I would like Radware to strengthen its integration with SIEM for better logging capabilities."
"There needs to be more reporting."
"Pricing has room for improvement. It is somewhat inconvenient for us because the new features that are introduced are pricey and are just add-ons to the original or baseline license."
"This product would be improved if ongoing live monitoring with dashboards were added."
"The APSolute Vision feature needs improvement."
"There should be some extra layer of security and a method of advanced rate limiting. We can limit the number of IPs or URLs per session and per country. There should be improved bot management integration that mitigates bot-based DDoS attacks completely."
"I would like to see more focus on layer seven protection."
"The different solutions for Radware DDoS are expensive. Better pricing is needed."
"Confident score: Currently it does not have one and there are cases that most websites flagged are false-positives."
"Sucuri could provide help for specific security alerts in-line instead of requiring users to search for it in the help section."
"In terms of improvement, the cost factor is always there."
"The main improvement I would like to see is support for .NET applications. If they could include this feature, I would include more sites in the protection."
"The reason is that we have found sometimes customers or Google saying that there is something wrong with the website but Sucuri says that the site is clean so we do have to look at the site manually which means that the Sucuri scan does not pick up anything and everything."
"I would rate this solution an eight out of ten. The reason is that we have found sometimes customers or Google saying that there is something wrong with the website but Sucuri says that the site is clean so we do have to look at the site manually which means that the Sucuri scan does not pick up anything and everything."
"Confident score: Currently it does not have one and there are cases that most websites flagged are false-positives."
"It would greatly benefit customers if they implemented an online chat or messaging system for quicker assistance."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool is a premium product, so it is very expensive."
"So far I use free tier and happy with it. You can subscribe to business package if needed."
"We don't have any issues with the price."
"The pricing depends on the usage, but the cheapest would be around 5,000 USD a month."
"Cloudflare's pricing is not much higher and is good for middle-level organizations."
"When you compare Cloudflare DNS to other solutions, such as Akamai, the price is reasonable."
"The price of the solution is expensive."
"I believe their performance has improved, but I'd like to refrain from discussing the pricing aspect related to the cloud. The pricing, in my opinion, could be simplified, and I think they should consider reevaluating the pricing for support, as it can be quite high. At times, this cost can make it challenging to choose CARFAGuard or opt for the support."
"The licensing cost is about $50,000."
"The price was well over six figures."
"Radware's Cloud DDoS Protection Service stands out for its competitive pricing, making it a strong contender in our decision."
"Licensing of Radware is quite simple and straightforward, while Arbor DDos is a bit complicated."
"Radware DefensePro is expensive when considering the issue we have and its limitations."
"It is expensive. I would rate it a seven out of ten for pricing."
"When compared with other solutions, my end user is satisfied with the costs and believes that Radware Cloud DDoS Protection Service is worth the price paid."
"I rate Radware DefenseFlow's pricing an eight out of ten."
"I’d simply say it’s really worth it."
"It stands out as a more cost-effective option compared to other cloud-based security services like Cloudflare or JetPass."
"The ROI has been very good. Because of the solution, I have a tax break. The site developers were not always experienced people. We used to pay more for cleaning up the site when it was infected. Now, we have peace of mind knowing that the solution will clean up the site and that we won't have to go through the unnecessary process of restoring it from a backup. The protection on the WAF and the measures for backups have also prevented our site from going down."
"Sucuri offers different plans, both the standard plan and an advanced plan. So there are different plans to choose from."
