Single bot now replaces five associates who previously handled finance processes and eliminates manual errors
Everything seems to be working well. However, I see value in integrating AI for automation. So, I would like to see AI integration for automation in future releases. Ideally, after I perform postings, I would like to leverage a generative AI model. This would allow me to type a query or question directly to the bot, and it would retrieve the information I need. For example, I could ask for the number of invoices, the status of specific invoices, or any other relevant data. Currently, we achieve this by building our own Finance model. So, integrating a pre-built finance model with the tool would be much easier and more efficient for reporting purposes. We're looking at several potential uses for this AI model. It could empower various user groups, including regular finance executives, customers, and even vendors to submit queries. Additionally, our leadership team is interested in using the AI model to generate reports directly on the Redwood dashboard. This functionality could potentially replace the need for BSpoke Solutions and the manual generation of BSpoke reports, streamlining the entire reporting process.

Significantly reduces manual effort and improves team workflows through automated ticketing
We've used Agent Builder, IXP, and Maestro for orchestration. We have created context-grounded searches or chatbots using context grounding, and we also use context grounding within an Agentic flow where a bot or agent reads ServiceNow tickets to determine whether it has been assigned to the right work group. If it has not been assigned correctly due to human error, it automatically reassigns it to the right group. I would assess Agentic AI's ability to extract data points as effective. We created an agent for the purpose of extracting data, though not in a document. We created what we call an email conversation agent that engages with a customer, vendor, or someone in an email conversation with a set goal of extracting specific data points for an action to be performed subsequently. The one automation we have deployed in production involves the agent interacting with team members to collect data points and create a ServiceNow ticket. We appreciate almost all features of UiPath Platform, with one of the most successful ones being the use of Coms Mining. Most of the new features related to AI have all been good, and we use Agentic. We have already created a few agents and have started to use Maestro for a few flows, though we are not yet there to orchestrate an end-to-end workflow. We have good ROI from the automations we have developed with UiPath Platform, which far exceeds the investment in the platform. It has saved us tens of thousands of hours in manual effort, making the team members happy to pursue other things of value.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"So the best thing is ease of use."
"The out-of-the-box finance modules within the Redwood Finance framework help to speed up the process, versus designing and writing generic BOT code."
"Redwood has a great feature where it logs every transaction. So, at any point, we can see every step taken for each transaction. It creates an audit trail of the entire process execution. It is a really good feature. This eliminates the need for extra coding or report generation. The audit report is readily available within the tool itself."
"Unlike other automation tools, Redwood has a unique space in finance automation, where standard SAP modules are used for automating every step in the process, quickly and easily."
"The most valuable features of UiPath are test automation, test suite, test manager, and document understanding."
"The tool's most valuable feature is Task Capture."
"I have used the UiPath Academy courses. I'm a certified developer. I didn't know UiPath at all. I went through the Academy and trained myself. When I brought in new developers, I had them do modules and I sometimes go visit them. From the user's perspective, people are happy that they don't have to do certain tasks that they didn't like to do. I only have one of those bots where I have a group of people that prefer the way they've always been doing tasks, but that's more of an organizational thing. I'm seeing across the enterprise with other folks that they're very happy to have this. They are putting more use cases in, and the frontline workers are bringing in use cases. Of course, we need to vet a lot of those so that we get enough bang for the buck, but we're finding a lot of adoption across, up, and down the whole scale so far."
"Their core platform of Studio is valuable. The ease of use and the ability to build these automations quickly is definitely a highlight for us. Our average process from start to finish takes three to four weeks. We can knock out automations as quickly as we can identify them. That is probably the best feature I see."
"Our bandwidth has been drastically reduced, by nearly 60 hours, because of this solution."
"UiPath speeds up and reduces the cost of digital transformation."
"Based on UiPath Platform, I have around 300, 400 bots with us, resulting in a very good ROI of approximately 20 million plus."
"All of the tools that they deliver, for the time being, together are enough to implement any type of project."

Cons

"The room for balancing improvement lies in automation enhancement with respect to the feature areas, considering dealing directly with Excel and reviewing it to do some additional stuff for it in the end system so that reading the right thing, picking up the values, and everything."
"would like to see AI integration for automation in future releases. Post-automation, I envision a generative AI model. If I could ask the bot questions like the number of invoices or their current status, it should be able to provide answers directly."
"Mapping the process steps to an existing R2R process quickly would be a definite step forward."
"This is where the real challenge is, having a licensing cost that needs to be compared with the existing manual operational cost and coming up with a competitive licensing and pricing model."
"On a scale from one to five where one is very difficult and five is very easy, I would rate the ease of use of the platform as a three-out-of-five. I give it that rating rather than going a bit higher because it is a little bit difficult for the regular users to automate."
"They're spending a lot of time and effort on unstructured documents or core quality documents. Sometimes things don't pick up right away, however, it is my understanding that they're working on it, and it has improved tremendously."
"One concern is robot failure. It may be due to any reason like improper scheduling of bots with respect to orchestrator."
"It would be helpful if they made the Document Understanding modules a little more user-friendly. There is a learning curve for using it correctly."
"Document processing could be improved. It's challenging to build document automations. It would be helpful if UiPath provided some templates and prebuilt models. Citrix automation could be improved. It's static automation, and we cannot fully automate processes involving Citrix. Some elements aren't supported."
"I would like to see them improve the validation part of the data categorization."
"It is not as end-user friendly as some other tools, but it does not require deep technical knowledge."
"I could use more standardized features, retail-style, things that I could use off-the-shelf."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing was purely based on the number of transactions being processed in production."
"Initially, the pricing was a lot more affordable. Now, it seems a bit excessive."
"I hope in the future the costing will be trimmed down, especially on Studio."
"UiPath is expensive compared to the competition."
"The cost of UiPath is reasonable."
"UiPath is more expensive than Automation Anywhere."
"Its pricing is straightforward. There are two editions: one is the community edition and one is the enterprise edition, which is a paid one. The paid edition is priced reasonably. They charge extra for additional training and implementation, but that should be bundled up with the enterprise edition itself. All in all, it's reasonably priced."
"As an application, it is not very expensive. It's very reasonable."
"We got purchased the basic minimum package and it was around $35,000 USD, annually."
