It's stable, it keeps on improving and the technical support is excellent
I think a lot of users aren't having fun using SAP because it requires putting in a lot of information by keyboard directly because it requires some coding, so this is one area for improvement. From a user point of view, SAP is a complex system where you can learn and teach, so another area for improvement in the solution is that it needs to be more user-friendly. In the next release of SAP, I want it to have a friendlier menu for its users.

Empowering sales teams has become effortless as collaborative dashboards compare rep performance
I cannot remember specifics, but there were one or two times when I wanted to build something in a dashboard but Sigma would not let me compute the math in the way that I wanted to compute it. It felt like it was a little bit limited in ability because there were very specific functions and specific mathematical computations that Sigma allows you to do, and if you want to do something outside of that, it did not seem like it was possible. There was one time where even with a Sigma support agent, we could not figure out the most effective way to accomplish the task and run a query that we wanted to. Expanding features and abilities and functions within Sigma could be one way to improve Sigma.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Now, it seems to be one of the best SAP dashboard/chart/data analysis tools available."
"The ability to merge enriched data from different sources and also to connect to SAP HANA live data is also embedded in SAP HANA live analytics which cuts down time to deliver a solution to users and helps power users to design their own Lumira stories without any need for IT."
"I would recommend using SAP Lumira because the development of dashboards is easy, and they have a good look and feel."
"SAP Lumira is the best system in the world, at least in my opinion. I like that it's a stable system and that many people in my company have development experience in SAP Lumira. The solution keeps on improving and has excellent support."
"Beautiful visualizations."
"I think rapid development, geospatial coding, using it to connect to multiple data sources are all good selling points for it."
"This is a tool that gives more power to the user."
"The most value that Lumira provides is in its ability to consume the Business Objects universe."
"The most valuable aspect for me is having real-time data."
"Sigma has positively impacted my organization by creating a culture that we are trying to add to all processes, simplifying our processes and improving our analysis effort."
"Sigma has excellent features, such as lookup tables where you can easily bring data that are not interrelated or at different granularity."
"Sigma serves as the visualization and reporting front end."
"Sigma has positively impacted my organization because I think it has been a huge impact, and we use it for all our reporting and our dashboards for tracking."
"The most valuable feature of Sigma is the detailed reports."
"Our finance team now runs entirely off of Sigma Computing for their monthly financial reporting."
"Sigma is valuable because you can do pretty much anything you need to do within Sigma."

Cons

"It needs to have more complex and enriched chart functions."
"Lumira's capabilities feel like that of a store app with the intuitiveness of a desktop app, which is not a good combination."
"A lot of bugs keep coming up when we connect to HANA or create our custom color palette."
"Lumira was very useful for me, but now I have more needs, and I have to move faster because I am responsible for a lot of data, and a lot of information that I have to provide to the directors and VPs."
"The Cloud/Edge version of SAP Lumira still needs to be more user friendly."
"It needs the ability to drill down more. Analyzing data with Lumira at times becomes a bit difficult."
"We definitely encountered issues with stability. We found a lot of bugs throughout the amount of time that we've been using the product."
"I did encounter issues with stability and performance. It really takes a long, long time, if you want to do analysis on viewed data."
"Sigma lacks a versioning feature to track changes. There is a need for better structuring, like a folder system, to organize diagrams efficiently."
"Sigma could have better reports."
"The main improvement needed is in data modeling capabilities. If they add those features in the near future, it would be very helpful for us to implement the same or do the data cleansing part in the Sigma tool itself."
"Sigma can be improved in terms of speed; it would be great if it could process the data even faster."
"It felt like it was a little bit limited in ability because there were very specific functions and specific mathematical computations that Sigma allows you to do, and if you want to do something outside of that, it did not seem like it was possible."
"The only minor area for improvement lies in handling highly complex visualizations."
"Either we are not using it properly, or the software is too complicated. It would be great if there was a way for me to create reports without relying on a data analyst."
"I would like to see better visualization options. That would allow me to build out more visually pleasing dashboarding in Sigma."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"In terms of cost, SAP Lumira is less affordable."
"PowerBI is way more capable at a much better price point: $10 per user without all the associated setup costs."
"The retail price is set at one thousand dollars per creator per year."
