Simplified integrations bring flexibility and efficiency to diverse industries through comprehensive features and robust support
SAP is already trying to make improvements for SAP Process Orchestration by releasing updates every quarter, including patches and modules, and from a security standpoint, while it's a tightly coupled tool, they are introducing a lot of enhancements aligned with current market trends. There are standard contents readily available for starting integrations, which suit around 90% of every industry across verticals including pharma, manufacturing, and employee data central with SuccessFactors integration. Regarding functionality-wise improvements in SAP Process Orchestration, they are now incorporating the Salesforce system. Previously, we needed to rely on a third-party adapter for integration within SAP, but now they are building their own adapters to connect with Salesforce. Additionally, there are options like data connectors using Ariba coming up with SAP Process Orchestration. There's much more to explore, especially as they release new patches, enhancements, and adapters each quarter.

Exceptional support and reliability drive optimal data flow and integration
The features of SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite that I found most valuable are related to entity flow. We can find the entity flow to be very useful so we can grab the flow accordingly. There is no disturbance in the connections, and it is very clear to check the connection flow with applicable queues. When comparing to other applications, SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite is the easiest way to understand the application. I have also worked on the cloud services where SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite is moving to cloud. I have worked on cloud services where the mapping part is in the cloud itself, along with the connection setup.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It provides essential features such as continuous monitoring of all interfaces are crucial for our needs."
"The initial setup was straightforward."
"Great monitoring tools and has its own alert framework."
"The most valuable feature of SAP Process Orchestration is its flexibility in being able to build integrations with SAP systems and non-SAP systems."
"The stability of the product is very good; there are no bugs or glitches, it doesn't crash or freeze, and it's reliable."
"SAP Process Orchestration is middleware where we are able to manage and interact with everything from a single location. One of the most beneficial areas is monitoring which is very easy because it is all in one place. There are many adapters added recently that can be used for new functionality. The solution is easy to operate and it is more mature than the cloud solution provided by SAP."
"The solution makes it easy to solve integration problems."
"SAP is the best solution for them to integrate with many other third-party systems or other VRP systems."
"SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS) has been good at communicating between two applications, changing formats and using the required protocols... We can have one site communicating in an old FTP or SFTP style, or via file transfer. And with other applications, we could have API or a web service call or some other protocol used to send information."
"The solution's capabilities in fulfilling our existing B2B integration requirements are brilliant. Among our multiple customers we connect to SAP systems, JDE, all the various ERPs that you can possibly get, Oracle procurement systems, etc. We haven't come across anything yet — and customers are trying to trip us up — that we can't do."
"SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS) provides us with the solutions we need."
"SEEBURGER is a global company who offers a presence not only in the United States, but is also international across the globe, offering world-class services, a 24/7 support model, and managed services, with about 95 percent of a million files a month SLA, 99.9 percent uptime, and a response time normally under four hours if there is an issue at all."
"It's the reliability. And the message tracking is quite good, where we can go in and see if we have an issue."
"You will sleep well, because it's very reliable."
"If SEEBURGER plans to do something, they will meet their target. We haven't been disappointed by them at all. For example, we had six trading partners to onboard and they said, "We'll make it happen," and they did make it happen. They did exactly what they said they would do. That's a really positive thing."
"For the first time, we can start doing things the same way, which means I can have customer service in one facility support customer service in the second facility, and when the next plant came on we were just able to say in SAP, "Here are some new ship-to's" without having to start re-testing with the customer, which saved a ton of work and made our reaction time 50 percent faster from our American plant."

Cons

"The solution is not very scalable because it is at the end of its life."
"We encounter challenges while connecting to MQTT and MQDD adapters."
"It does not have all of the industry-standard solutions available in PO and it is not plug and play, so we have to do a lot of development."
"The solution could be more scalable."
"The usability is an area where it can be improved upon."
"The monitoring governance offered by SAP is too technical; only the consultants that have technical skills or development skills are able to manage this product."
"I think the main area that SAP PO should improve on is offering pre-delivered content like they do when you use SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI)."
"The older version of the solution will no longer be supported."
"That is the component that we definitely have the biggest issue with."
"We wanted to use API. We were told that in 6.52 we could use API management. Later on, we found that API management wasn't that completely integrated into the 6.52 solution, and if you wanted to have the whole API suite you might have to go to 6.7, the latest one."
"When we got SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS), it was clear that it was going to take more of a technical person. It does take a technically-rooted individual to operate it."
"The speed of development needs improvement. If you acquire any customization, it can be a slightly slow process. I would like to see more flexibility around customizations. The time frame right now depends on the sophistication and customization, but we have to go through a process of getting them to develop, implement, and test it. This might take a couple of weeks. If it was a simpler system to customize, the time could probably be cut by half or down by even 25 percent of what it would normally take."
"There might be some improvements they could make to the portal, but they're not anything that stops me from working."
"Among the things we have requested are improvements in the user interface and improvements that would be implemented by completely new modules or improvements in their Cloud Services."
"I don't think the scalability of the solution is that great because they have tied the solution to their named nodes and it does not allow scalability like some of the cloud products allow."
"So the product in and of itself, on-prem, does not give you that, but the same product, in their data centers around the world, allows me to do the same functions but where I need it."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The fee for maintenance is costly."
"The license is a one-time payment, and additional costs are only incurred on the infrastructure side since it's an on-premise solution."
"There are fees in addition to the licensing."
"Looking at market conditions, vendors nowadays are giving products at very low price levels. However, SAP Process Orchestration have not yet reduced their prices. The prices could be reduced a lot to stay competitive."
"The price of SAP Process Orchestration was reasonable."
"My company deals with different pricing models of the product, according to which we don't pay for the solution directly, but we do pay for the maintenance part."
"The solution is highly-priced."
"The pricing for this solution is fine."
"They need to be more competitively priced. When it comes to training, they need to lower their prices. It shouldn't be so specific. Maybe they should outsource training to another company. From what I can see, their training is pretty expensive, and they don't do anything for free."
"Sometimes it seems a little pricey, especially when some of the stuff is available through freeware, like SFTP communications... It costs a lot more money to buy this stuff from SEEBURGER but I think it's worth it in the long run."
"On an annual basis, our support costs, which are based on the licensing, are about £120,000."
"The pricing seems to be competitive and the maintenance is standard."
"The cost of the SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS) can be considered high. We have elected to have SEEBURGER consulting do the installation. Licensing could also be considered high. However, one would be hard pressed to find another product that does all that this one does."
"I've heard that the solution is cheaper when compared to other products in the market."
"We pay per message we use. We spend about £19,000 a year with them."
"They have options for every budget. You can book Cloud Services, starting with a few hundred Euros per year or month, depending on what you want, or you can even buy huge landscapes and operate them on your own. The pricing is fair compared to others."
