Improves security posture by actively reducing critical vulnerabilities and guiding remediation
Snyk's main features include open-source vulnerability scanning, code security, container security, infrastructure as code security, risk-based prioritization, development-first integration, continuous monitoring and alerting, automation, and remediation. The best features I appreciate are the vulnerability checking, vulnerability scanning, and code security capabilities, as Snyk scans all open-source dependencies for known vulnerabilities and helps with license compliance for open-source components. Snyk integrates into IDEs, allowing issues to be caught as they appear in the code dynamically and prioritizes risk while providing remediation advice. Snyk provides actionable remediation advice on where vulnerabilities can exist and where code security is compromised, automatically scanning everything and providing timely alerts. Snyk has positively impacted my organization by improving the security posture across all software repositories, resulting in fewer critical vulnerabilities, more confidence in overall product security, and faster security compliance for project clients. Snyk has helped reduce vulnerabilities significantly. Initially, the repository had 17 to 31 critical and high vulnerabilities, but Snyk has helped manage them down to just five vulnerabilities, which are now lower and not high or critical.

During implementation, we identified some features that I'm not actually using today, such as advanced predictive analytics and Digital Employee Experience scoring, along with real-time self-healing at scale. The biggest friction point I hit with Workspace ONE Intelligence is the high complexity of setup, along with data overload, which presents too much information. There's also a skill gap in teams, an over-automation risk, integration challenges, licensing and cost concerns, cultural resistance, and limited real-time action adoption due to the hybrid environment's complexity. If I could change just one thing about Workspace ONE Intelligence, even something small, it would be to make automation adoption simpler and safer, which would ease my workflow.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We use Snyk to check vulnerabilities and rectify potential leaks in GitHub."
"Snyk has given us really good results because it is fully automated."
"Snyk's focus on security is a valuable feature. Also Snyk supports multiple programming languages, which has positively affected my security practices. I use only two or three languages, and when I change the language in a file, it detects it in the same suite. I find the AI-powered scanning overall beneficial.Using Snyk's AI-powered scanning, I can detect around ten or twenty errors in my project with about twenty thousand lines of code, so it helps improve my project by identifying a lot of potential vulnerabilities."
"Snyk allows for scaling across large organizations, accommodating tens of thousands of applications and over 60,000 repositories, making it suitable for wide-scale deployment."
"I think all the standard features are quite useful when it comes to software component scanning, but I also like the new features they're coming out with, such as container scanning, secrets scanning, and static analysis with SAST."
"From the software composition analysis perspective, it first makes sure that we understand what is happening from a third-party perspective for the particular product that we use. This is very difficult when you are building software and incorporating dependencies from other libraries, because those dependencies have dependencies and that chain of dependencies can go pretty deep. There could be a vulnerability in something that is seven layers deep, and it would be very difficult to understand that is even affecting us. Therefore, Snyk provides fantastic visibility to know, "Yes, we have a problem. Here is where it ultimately comes from." It may not be with what we're incorporating, but something much deeper than that."
"Snyk helps me pinpoint security errors in my code."
"We have hundreds of source code repositories, and Snyk scans them in minutes (it just looks at package management files to identify the dependency tree), Snyk uses the same infrastructure to scan for all customers on the cloud which gives it lots of scalability opportunities compared to some other vendors where the software is installed on-prem or on a dedicated instance which makes the software pricy and limited."
"I would rate Workspace ONE Intelligence nine out of ten."
"The tool's most valuable feature is its tunneling capability. It is good for inventory, encryption, device location, and kiosk mode. If a device is lost, you can find it. We integrated it with a third-party tool for one-time passwords and two-factor authentication. The user-friendly interface makes device management easy."
"Integration is also very easy."
"Workspace ONE Intelligence has significantly impacted my organization overall by shifting the operation from reactive to proactive IT, reducing the help desk load, providing a stronger security posture, improving visibility across the enterprise, automating routine IT work, especially in banking-specific contexts, enhancing employee productivity, and optimizing costs, leading to a cultural shift in IT teams."

Cons

"I think they could improve the feature for automatic fixing of security breaches."
"The tool's initial use is complex."
"Snyk could improve by reducing the alert noise because in large projects, security tools can surface a lot of findings."
"It would be great if they can include dynamic, interactive, and run-time scanning features. Checkmarx and Veracode provide dynamic, interactive, and run-time scanning, but Snyk doesn't do that. That's the reason there is more inclination towards Veracode, Checkmarx, or AppScan. These are a few tools available in the market that do all four types of scanning: static, dynamic, interactive, and run-time."
"The documentation sometimes is not relevant. It does not cover the latest updates, scanning, and configurations. The documentation for some things is wrong and does not cover some configuration scannings for the multiple project settings."
"The product is very expensive."
"Right now, we receive too many high vulnerabilities. If we enable notifications, then we just get a lot of spam message."
"Fugue capabilities are not well understood on the market."
"Support could be improved for Workspace, especially the technical part, and it needs to ensure that issues can be resolved within one or two days."
"One area for improvement is location mapping - it uses Bing Maps instead of Google Maps, which isn't always up to date. Device enrollment can also be challenging, especially for older devices that need a factory reset."
"The biggest friction point I hit with Workspace ONE Intelligence is the high complexity of setup, along with data overload, which presents too much information."
"Windows devices management needs improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I didn't think the price was that great, but it wasn't that bad, either. I'd rate their pricing as average in the market."
"It's inexpensive and easy to license. It comes in standard package sizing, which is straightforward. This information is publicly found on their website."
"Despite Snyk's coverage, scalability, reliability, and stability, it is available at a very competitive price."
"Snyk is an expensive solution."
"It's good value. That's the primary thing. It's not cheap-cheap, but it's good value."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"The price is good. Snyk had a good price compared to the competition, who had higher pricing than them. Also, their licensing and billing are clear."
"Snyk is a premium-priced product, so it's kind of expensive. The big con that I find frustrating is when a company charges extra for single sign-on (SSO) into their SaaS app. Snyk is one of the few that I'm willing to pay that add-on charge, but generally I disqualify products that charge an extra fee to do integrated authentication to our identity provider, like Okta or some other SSO. That is a big negative. We had to pay extra for that. That little annoyance aside, it is expensive. You get a lot out of it, but you're paying for that premium."
"The solution is cost-effective. Workspace ONE Intelligence is neither cheap nor expensive. Compared to other tools like MaaS360, it Is more cost-effective. It costs about seven dollars per user, while others might cost $50—a big difference."
