Stronger email and mobile security has protected users from ransomware and simplified management
Price is obviously a challenging part, and I think it is the biggest problem we have suffered from over the last two or three years due to a 7 to 8% hike per year, twice a year, which is why we have some renewals on Sophos Email, Sophos XDR, EDR, and the firewall, but due to price hike, they are unable to renew it. The price is going to be very high. It would be better if Sophos can provide a more flexible pricing model for different types of businesses. Price could be lower. The main competitor for Sophos in the market is Palo Alto, which has reduced their price by more than 35 to 40%, making it a very challenging part to sell this product. Palo Alto provides the same functionality for email security, which adds to the challenge because the price is going very high.

A simple and easy-to-handle solution that does not need multiple configurations, but its pricing could be improved
Trustifi Inbound Shield is a simple and easy-to-handle solution where we don't have to go for multiple configurations. A single IT admin supporting over 100 or 200 users can easily understand everyday reports. Trustifi Inbound Shield is a user-friendly solution that even simple lay people can understand. The product helps our customers avoid 95% of unwanted phishing emails.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I found the user interface friendly."
"The most valuable feature of Sophos Email is the sandbox. We're able to scan the file, isolate it, and look at it before it is delivered. It is highly effective."
"Sophos Email offers encryption and malware protection, provides visibility into emails, has 99% accuracy in catching spam, enhances organizational safety, integrates with various vendors like Microsoft, is deployable with any email service, prevents data loss, features authentication rules, synchronizes with Active Directory and Azure, and includes a self-service portal. The product is very flexible."
"I have found Sophos Email to be scalable."
"When you say email security, it's about everything, incoming email, outgoing email, spam, phishing emails, unwanted marketing emails. You can set rules, but the main feature of Sophos Email is to make sure you don't get hacked. 95% of people who are hacked do not get hacked by typing the router password. They are hacked from the inside out, which means they send you a document that is a zero-day attack, you open it, nothing happens, but technically the attack is running in the background of your computer. This is how they gain access to your PC."
"Sophos already has Sandbox, and if any issues are identified, Sophos blocks that particular mail and site instantly, which is why customers are very happy and safe from other attacks."
"The tool is a good solution for protecting against email attacks and monitoring networks. It supports our compliance efforts and is easy to use and stable."
"It has enhanced our approach to tackling malware and spam. It is a reliable product with a good user interface."
"Trustifi Inbound Shield is a simple and easy-to-handle solution where we don't have to go for multiple configurations."

Cons

"Lacks visibility into spam emails."
"Sophos Email needs to increase the number of promos."
"The tool's pricing is expensive. In its future release, the tool should make reporting easier to view."
"The tool has some performance issues and bugs, making it an area where improvements are required."
"The solution should be able to support the cloud environment."
"Servicing and support are areas with shortcomings where the solution needs to improve."
"There have been some issues with compatibility and effectiveness, particularly when integrating it with our firewall. The main challenge has been email protection, especially due to compatibility issues and difficulties with log access and email relay configuration."
"Sophos Email could better detect fake emails, especially when the domain names are similar. It needs to improve spotting spoofed domains, like when one letter differs in a domain name. It also needs to incorporate AI detection. Barracuda detects suspicious emails better. However, malware scanning is better in Sophos Email."
"The solution's pricing is very high compared to other products like Barracuda and should be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Licensing is paid on a yearly basis."
"The solution is expensive."
"The pricing is fair."
"It falls somewhere in the middle—it's not excessively expensive nor very cheap."
"It is an expensive solution. On a scale of one to ten, where one is low price, and ten is high price, I rate the pricing a seven."
"The pricing could improve by having additional discounts. For example, when customers buy have more than 50 or more users, there should be additional discounts."
"I rate the price of Sophos Email a four out of five."
"Most of our clients are on a perpetual license. If there is a budget issue, they can choose a subscription. However, most of the clients choose the perpetual license."
