Stronger email and mobile security has protected users from ransomware and simplified management
Price is obviously a challenging part, and I think it is the biggest problem we have suffered from over the last two or three years due to a 7 to 8% hike per year, twice a year, which is why we have some renewals on Sophos Email, Sophos XDR, EDR, and the firewall, but due to price hike, they are unable to renew it. The price is going to be very high. It would be better if Sophos can provide a more flexible pricing model for different types of businesses. Price could be lower. The main competitor for Sophos in the market is Palo Alto, which has reduced their price by more than 35 to 40%, making it a very challenging part to sell this product. Palo Alto provides the same functionality for email security, which adds to the challenge because the price is going very high.

A stable tool capable of detecting malware while focusing on anti-phishing to protect its users
I don't see ISO 27001 in the solution. While working on the solution, sometimes a customer needs to have a conformity level of SOC 1 or SOC 2 or some other conformity level. I did not see the aforementioned conformity levels added to the solution. Concerning a bank, data can be confidential, and when a bank needs to transfer such data, it has to be specific to a certain level of conformity, which I did not see in the product. Vade needs to incorporate the aforementioned aspects to improve their solution.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I have found Sophos Email to be scalable."
"The main use case for Sophos Email is its robust security features; we are effectively blocking spam and phishing attempts, and we have strong control over these aspects."
"It's easy to use and the configuration is straightforward."
"Sophos Email provides both inbound and outbound filtering."
"I would recommend Sophos Email to both end-users and other entities that want to protect their emails."
"Endpoint and server protection are very effective."
"When you say email security, it's about everything, incoming email, outgoing email, spam, phishing emails, unwanted marketing emails. You can set rules, but the main feature of Sophos Email is to make sure you don't get hacked. 95% of people who are hacked do not get hacked by typing the router password. They are hacked from the inside out, which means they send you a document that is a zero-day attack, you open it, nothing happens, but technically the attack is running in the background of your computer. This is how they gain access to your PC."
"The solution's identity proxy feature is very good and reliable."
"It is a stable solution...My company has no worries about the deployment phase of Vade for Office 365."

Cons

"Servicing and support are areas with shortcomings where the solution needs to improve."
"The solution has not found a way to block certain kinds of phishing emails."
"Sophos Email does not work with split delivery. If I have a domain with 100 mailboxes and want to protect only 50, it is not recommended by Sophos or not possible to configure."
"Enhancing rule creation and customization features would provide users with greater control over their email security settings."
"A lot of legit emails get quarantined."
"The tool has some performance issues and bugs, making it an area where improvements are required."
"Sophos Email needs to increase the number of promos."
"The tool's integration becomes an issue when the internet connection is weak."
"Concerning a bank, data can be confidential, and when a bank needs to transfer such data, it has to be specific to a certain level of conformity, which I did not see in the product."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We use exchange licenses, for which we get immediate support from Sophos."
"I would rate the pricing of Sophos Email as a six. It is considered affordable as a standalone product, and there are no additional costs besides licensing. The pricing is fixed."
"It is an expensive solution. On a scale of one to ten, where one is low price, and ten is high price, I rate the pricing a seven."
"Sophos Email is a little expensive for us, but it's necessary. We have a subscription and renew it every three years."
"The solution is expensive."
"The pricing is quite reasonable, with a fixed cost and no additional charges."
"The platform is inexpensive. It offers a cost-effective licensing model. We purchase its yearly license."
"There is an additional fee for their central managed console."
"Vade for Office 365 is a solution offered at competitive prices in the market...Payment has to be made for the whole bundle of Vade products."
