Easy installation and maintenance have improved data security with two-way encryption
I don't see any area for improvement in Sophos SafeGuard. Sophos SafeGuard doesn't have on-premises solutions; it's completely available on the cloud only. It's on a public cloud; they don't have any other deployment models, just their own lease. We are not properly aware if they are using AWS or Microsoft Azure since Sophos employs their own cloud solution, which I think is Amazon. AI is not integrated into Sophos SafeGuard; AI is available in EDR and XDR. AI is not required for this product; it is only focused on key management which they already manage well in other products. The overall rating for the product is a ten out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"What I love most about Sophos SafeGuard is its user-friendly interface. My company has another software with a complex user interface versus Sophos SafeGuard, which is extremely easy to use."
"The tool is very safe, reliable, and fast."
"Sophos SafeGuard offers one of the best VPNs I've seen, and the solution is very good in terms of securities because all information is protected and encrypted with very good anti-viral applications."
"Policy deployment is easy and quick to do."
"It's easy to use; you have to pay extra for additional features, but the basic product is fantastic and will be a good solution for you, depending on your requirements."
"We have a process and policies, including that all data should be secure, and SafeGuard has helped us to protect that integrity to confidentiality."
"The solution has done a fabulous job of protecting us from threats."
"The most valuable features of the solution are the fact that they are able to encrypt the hard disk and to encrypt USB sticks."
"The technical support is very good."
"The Central Management server."

Cons

"The cost is rather expensive. It's a pain point for many clients. They should work to see if they can reduce pricing."
"From version eight, Windows 8 onwards, SafeGuard doesn't work 100% of the time, so we have to use BitLocker for the encrypting and only the key management is done by SafeGuard."
"The product's initial setup process could be easier to understand for new users."
"It's a good product, but some are not happy with the boot BCN, and the point-to-point VPN requires the best protection."
"The solution lacks connectivity to Azure AD so it can connect to the regular internal Windows AD server but there's no direct connection to Azure AD."
"The Office 360 integration could be improved."
"The solution is not using other features like booting encryption, because it causes very heavy processing of the workstation."
"There are times that this solution takes up too much memory that needs to be resolved. If it is not fixed it will definitely create issues in the future."
"MacOS X is missing features."
"MacOS X is missing features."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate the pricing two or three on a scale of one to ten, where one is expensive, and ten is cheap."
"Licensing for this solution is on a yearly basis."
"The licenses are dependant on the number of users and computers you have to protect."
"There is a need to make annual payments towards the licensing charges attached to the product."
"We pay around $10 a year for each endpoint, including support."
"I rate Sophos SafeGuard's pricing a five out of ten."
"We used it for three years. It costs about 1000 ZAR. Maintenance was part of it, so we don't have extra cost. On a scale of one to ten, where one is a low price and ten is a high price, I rate the solution's pricing a three."
"Regarding pricing, it's a middle-priced solution. We typically use Sophos SafeGuard with the Sophos firewall, which includes VPN connections. The cost depends on the number of users, with some customers requiring hundreds of connections and others needing around a thousand."
"Licensing and pricing is on par with the market."
