Easy installation and maintenance have improved data security with two-way encryption
I don't see any area for improvement in Sophos SafeGuard. Sophos SafeGuard doesn't have on-premises solutions; it's completely available on the cloud only. It's on a public cloud; they don't have any other deployment models, just their own lease. We are not properly aware if they are using AWS or Microsoft Azure since Sophos employs their own cloud solution, which I think is Amazon. AI is not integrated into Sophos SafeGuard; AI is available in EDR and XDR. AI is not required for this product; it is only focused on key management which they already manage well in other products. The overall rating for the product is a ten out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Security-wise, it's one of the best."
"I like the support most of all."
"The user interface is simple, It makes it very easy to use."
"The most valuable feature is the synchronized security. It's a unique feature on the market at this time only offered by Sophos. As a reseller, we often win bids and get clients because of this unique trademark feature."
"It's easy to use. You have to pay extra for additional, but the basic product is fantastic. It will be a good solution for you, depending on your requirements."
"Compared to the potential loss if a breach occurred, the little higher investment is worth protecting data."
"With Sophos, I only need to generate the password and give that to a user to be able to allow them to login to the admin page of the Endpoint and do whatever they need to do. The user cannot go ahead and uninstall it. It's kept us much more secure because of this. Should any event happen on a particular system, I'm given the username and the system IP address. I get notifications and can deal with issues right away."
"It's the best solution on the market."
"The Central Management server."
"The technical support is very good."

Cons

"You have to pay extra for some additional features, like data extraction. It would be nice if everything was available in one bundle."
"Sophos could improve transparency around licensing and renewal costs. Unexpected costs have arisen during license renewals, impacting our budget planning."
"The focus should be on making things automated ."
"The solution lacks direct connectivity to Azure AD."
"What would make Sophos SafeGuard better than competitors is if its management console also includes firewall management. In the future, I want Sophos SafeGuard to be more scalable."
"The security does not have 100% authentication."
"I would like to see a support-cloud, where Sophos creates a single package that contains all of its products."
"When you have the PPM chipset, you can have the power-on authentication, when you boot up your machine, you can set the six-digit passcode. As of right now, SafeGuard can't manage the six-digit passcode in terms of the expiration, and I need that added as a feature."
"MacOS X is missing features."
"MacOS X is missing features."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Regarding pricing, it's a middle-priced solution. We typically use Sophos SafeGuard with the Sophos firewall, which includes VPN connections. The cost depends on the number of users, with some customers requiring hundreds of connections and others needing around a thousand."
"The pricing is good and now they offer three year and five year plans. After that if one lokes the service they can choose the lifetime service."
"We used it for three years. It costs about 1000 ZAR. Maintenance was part of it, so we don't have extra cost. On a scale of one to ten, where one is a low price and ten is a high price, I rate the solution's pricing a three."
"There is a need to make annual payments towards the licensing charges attached to the product."
"Licensing is on a yearly basis and the pricing could be better."
"The licensing costs depend on the series. For example, XG 85 can be around $200. If you go to ACC or to a four or five-year enterprise solution, you will find these devices can cost $10,000. It depends on the series."
"We have a yearly license with Sophos which is around $1000-$1200 or so per annum. There are no additional costs beyond the standard licensing fee."
"Pricing for Sophos SafeGuard should be transparent. If you want to get support for Sophos SafeGuard, you don't get pricing information about support costs, and in the end, you'll get charged more."
"Licensing and pricing is on par with the market."
