Prominent pros & cons

PROS

Technical support is friendly and fast.
Capabilities of the software are impressive.
Data modeling software provides additional insights for debugging issues with circular foreign keys.
DATPROF Privacy offers the possibility to mask sensitive test and development data across different databases and includes various useful masking functions.
It is possible to create synthetic test data without needing production data.

CONS

It would be nice if DATPROF had orchestration functionality similar to ServiceNow/Runbook.
Right now, process agreements with suppliers are needed to keep source and target databases in line with the current production version, which may become an issue with multiple releases per day in a CI/CD level.
DATPROF could be improved by adding functions to mask flat files and XML data.
There appears to be a lot of reworking of template implementations, making it feel like starting from scratch every time. Reusability of existing work could help.
DATPROF could enhance its APIs to integrate with other solutions.

The most valuable feature of DATPROF Privacy for us is the possibility to mask sensitive test and development data on different kinds of databases. Furthermore, the tool comes with different useful masking functions. It is possible to mask deterministic and it is possible to add your own functions. The tool has an intuitive interface and customer support is fast and efficient.

We have some customers who are in both SAP and non-SAP. When we do scrambling for different applications, it is extremely important that DATPROF and the SAP applications talk to each other and synchronize. Otherwise... [an] identity [can be] lost, from a name perspective.

The most valuable feature is that it's easy to use... We were able to quickly port a JD Edwards application into the DATPROF solution and we were able to scramble the data in that application. It's a single tool that helps us to do that across applications.

We can create synthetic test data for our different development teams without needing production data, which is an excellent capability.

Its ease of use is valuable. It's pretty straightforward. With minimal training or with minimal guidance, it can be used.

We organized the orchestration via ServiceNow/Runbook. It would be nice if DatProf software had this functionality as well.

Although it is possible to mask flat files inside DATPROF Privacy, the current solution is solid. However, it can be improved with an improved user interface.

I feel that we have to do a lot of reworking of the template implementations... Maybe it is a limitation, but as a customer, it feels like we need to start from scratch every time. It would help if we could reuse at least some of what we have already done.

They could improve the solution by expanding the APIs. If there were options to integrate it with other solutions, that would help.

The synthetic data-generating element of the tool is relatively new, so we sometimes encounter bugs, though when we inform DATPROF, they act quickly to fix any issues. Of course, the fewer bugs we face, the better.

From what I know, there are some challenges with respect to the number of data formats that can be made available. This is something that can be improved.
