We use Delinea Secret Server for pharmacy equipment management. We use a secret vault. We use it as a temporary hold, and we use it for password rotation.

I like that you can change the password remotely.

It would be better if they had a Linux version of the secret server.

I have been using Delinea Secret Server for about a year.

Delinea Secret Server is a stable solution.

On a scale from one to ten, I would give stability a nine.

We have seen a return on investment.

I would give the price a four on a scale from one to ten, with one being the cheapest and ten being the most expensive. We pay for the license on a yearly basis, and we paid for three years. It costs around 5000 a year.

I would tell potential users to keep customization flexible using the power shell. This is a good one.

I rate the solution a four out of ten. The solution is good, but there is a lot of room for improvement. The UI and the customer service and support team could be improved. I advise new users to have patience with support and be careful when purchasing licenses because if they mix up their licenses, it would be challenging to get them fixed, and they may have an outage.

Our clients use this solution to manage privileged accounts, meaning their administrative accounts. Whether it's active directories, co-banking solutions, or databases, the solution will take over all the privileged accounts on the network or in the infrastructure. 

Number one is the password vault; it's very good. It helps our clients avoid having a lot of passwords out there.

Number two, they have a feature for remote desktops that are created on a per session basis, which is very good for security. They also integrate with service providers. Let's say I'm having Microsoft take a look at the active directory or something that went wrong. I can give them one-time access, and once they're done, the session ends and they don't have access to it anymore. These features are very helpful for my customers.

The setup for this solution is complex. I'm not going to lie, you need a specialized system security engineer to deploy it.

I have been working with this solution for about five years.

The solution is stable. 

The solution is scalable. 

Since I'm speaking as a system security engineer, most of the time we're able to solve any problems the customers have, unless there's a software problem that needs to go to the software development team at Thycotic, but most of the time there are no issues.

On a scale of one to five, with one being the worst and five being the best, I would say that the ease of deployment by a novice would be around a one or two, while a skilled engineer could deploy it around a three or four.  

Licensing depends on a lot of factors, but once they do the proper scoping for you I don't think their pricing is that bad. This is a privileged access management solution, so yes it's expensive, but if the scoping is done right, I think you get a return on your internal investment.

Like most of these solutions, it depends on the engineer who comes and sets it up the first time. If it is done correctly and they integrate the different systems correctly, it'll work fine within your environment and you shouldn't have any issues. Administration of the solution is easy once it is set up. 

I prefer Thycotic because of the security, the fact that it is easy to administer, and the features. I think it has very, very good features, so I'd recommend Thycotic over CyberArk and the rest.

When considering a privileged access management solution, I would advise people to do their homework and find out about the features. People get solutions for different reasons, and the plan is not as straightforward as it would be with a firewall where you know what you want to block or control. Do your homework because it's an expensive solution, regardless of who you're buying it from. Find out what features it has, and make sure that the features work for you so you don't buy an expensive solution just to have it parked.

I would rate this solution as an eight out of ten.

We recently had to reset every company password globally, which I am in the process of undertaking at the moment. 

It seems to be working well for us. While we did encounter several glitches, I believe this owed itself to the solution not having been fully deployed, even though they owned it for some time. We have since deployed it fully and are learning as we go, especially as concerns the various international laws, such as the GDPR. Yet, it works well for us. 

We recently had to do a global reset of every company password, something we are still in the process of doing. While we had a few glitches, this likely attributes itself to them not having fully deployed, even as they owned the solution for a while. Now that we have done so, we find ourselves to be learning as we go, especially as concerns the various international laws, such as the GDPR. This said, it works well for us. 

As I am partial to CyberArk, I rate Thycotic Password Reset Server as a nine out of ten, owing to the minor glitches I mentioned. 

The initial setup was very straightforward for us. However, as it would not deploy easily with our 2019 servers, we were forced to make a few code changes. It continued to deploy for 2012, something I found to be odd, but started working flawlessly only after I made a few code changes. 

My only negative thing to say about Thycotic would involve the servicing not having been written for 2019.

This said, the solution's stability is flawless. It's very stable.

We have had dealings with technical support, but have not encountered any problems with them. They helped walk us through so many things that we simply did not know. My only negative thing to say about Thycotic would involve the servicing not having been written for 2019. 

I did a PLC with them while at IQVIA, but when I came over to CNHI, they actually owned 400-license, so I went ahead with its implementation.

We are trying to capture feedback with CyberArk, as well.

The solution has all the essential features to secure any environment. I rate it an eight.

We are selling this solution. Different customers have different use cases for it, which vary from our own. We do not use it for our organization; rather, we deploy and configure it for our customers to whom we sell it.

I have large-scale clients.

The most valuable feature is the user experience. The platform offers a native user experience, which means that users don't have to change their behavior or install any additional software or agents.

Moreover, Delinea manages the secrets, not the assets.

An area for improvement in Delinea Secret Server is its integration with ICAP servers. This integration would help in scanning for transfers and determining if they are one-way or not, and whether they contain values. Additionally, there is a need to enforce the copy-based policy across all secrets in the Delinea Secret Server platform, instead of having it as a personal configuration.

I have been using this solution for seven years. I am currently working with the latest version.
