The first feature that stands out for me in Dremio is the federated type of query, which allows the possibility to use multiple endpoints without worrying about writing custom SQL that runs only for SQL Server or for Postgres and Redshift.
Dremio excels in data integration with platforms like Amazon S3 and Azure Data Factory and uses Reflections for rapid query results, benefiting fast development and consolidated data access. It manages data lineage effectively and supports federated queries across various databases. However, challenges include execution delays for complex queries, lack of ETL pipeline creation, memory leaks, high Enterprise costs, and unsatisfactory support for Delta, impacting its performance and cost-efficiency.
