Data & AI expert at a tech services company with 1,001-5,000 employees
Easy to use and scalable with excellent technical support
Pros and Cons

- "It's user-friendly, we find it to be very easy to use, they also have the SDK for the development team to integrate with their application and system which has been useful, the product is quite stable, Google is targeting customers right now in the Vietnam market and therefore they have lots of promotions, they also have a lot of teams in Vietnam so they give a lot of support and troubleshooting, the product can scale, and the security is pretty good."
- "The problem I face right now is that my data warehouse is being hosted on Google Cloud, however, integration between Google Cloud to Microsoft Azure is a big problem."
- "I would love to use Amazon S3 as it's more user-friendly and the SDK is better."
What is our primary use case?
I'm helping the company build a data warehouse and expand it to utilize the current platform and build new machine-learning operations. All of the stack is currently stuck with the Google stack. I use BigQuery and their Data Studio to use as a data warehouse. I'm looking for another platform to build a machine-learning operation on. ProtectAI is good, however, it's quite new.
What is most valuable?
It's user-friendly. We find it to be very easy to use.
They also have the SDK for the development team to integrate with their application, their system, which has been useful.
The product is quite stable.
Google is targeting customers right now in the Vietnam market, and therefore, they have lots of promotions. They also have a lot of teams in Vietnam, so they give a lot of support and troubleshooting.
The product can scale.
The security is pretty good.
What needs improvement?
Comparing to Azure Machine Learning, Microsoft Azure is much better and they have more experience than Google. The problem I face right now is that my data warehouse is being hosted on Google Cloud, however, integration between Google Cloud to Microsoft Azure is a big problem.
I would love to use Amazon S3 as it's more user-friendly and the SDK is better. It's easy to let the developer implement it, whereas Google Cloud Storage is hard for the developer to use. The SDK is quite complicated.
The security could always be better.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used the solution since I joined my current company. That was one and a half years ago. I have a little less than two years of experience.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability of the solution is great. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution can scale. If a company needs to expand it, it can. Compared to other options, it's quite good.
The service and system technology team serves around 2,000 people.
How are customer service and technical support?
Technical support has been great so far. Google has a lot of teams in the country that have been really helpful and responsive. They give us a lot of attention when we need to troubleshoot.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I've worked with Amazon and Azure in the past as well.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Since Google has recently targeted Vietnam, they've been offering many customers in the country lots of great promotions and incentives.
It's about nearly $10,000 USD to use the services on GCP, however, Google gave us a good deal which is why we originally went with them.
We do pay a monthly fee to Google. We use a lot of their services.
What other advice do I have?
As a cloud solution, we're always on the latest and most up-to-date version of the product. Google keeps it updated for us and we do not have to update anything manually.
I'd rate the solution at an eight out of ten. We've been pretty satisfied with the solution overall.
While AWS S3 is the best, and Microsoft is pretty good, I'd still recommend Google.

It is stable and scalable.
What needs improvement?
Its security should be better from the data security point of view. It should be more secure, and it should get tightly integrated with products such as Google Docs and Google Sheets. Microsoft covers different kinds of tools such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is scalable. You can scale based on your users. We have more than a thousand users, and it allows me to share across my team.
How are customer service and technical support?
We don't need any support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We tried using other tools from AWS and Microsoft. We have a very limited number of users on Microsoft Azure. Office 365 is only for the senior leadership.
How was the initial setup?
Being a cloud solution, it doesn't require installation. I can also use it offline. To use it offline, I need to install an app on my machine that allows me to work offline and gets synced without my server.
It is completely cloud-managed. We don't need a separate team to maintain it. We only have our regular IT team that creates the users, and they automatically get signed up to Google Storage.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Its price is fine.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend this solution to others. We plan to keep using this solution.

- "I think improvements can be made from a storage perspective and a cost perspective."
What is our primary use case?
I'm a manager in an Indian-based company and we are customers of Google.
What is most valuable?
In the two years I've been using this solution, I haven't had a single minute of downtime. That is what's fantastic about the cloud. I know the product is very secure since there was an attempt at a cyber attack some months ago, and the attackers could not penetrate into the Google Cloud. They might be able to attack some on-prem applications but not these applications. From an availability perspective it's fantastic; from a security perspective it's fantastic. I like the interface, it works well with other applications.
What needs improvement?
I think improvements can be made from a storage perspective and a cost perspective. We're currently working on the application modernization and I think that the integration section of Google and the cloud could be simplified. Integration across various applications isn't always successful.
For how long have I used the solution?
We've been using this solution for over two years.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability is fantastic. We've been able to scale up and down as necessary. We have close to 450 users. I think we will probably extend it. Since the attempted attack, management is now of the opinion that it's best to migrate all the on-prem applications to cloud.
How are customer service and technical support?
I am satisfied with the technical support. We are in contact with Google's account manager in India and that works well.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was complex and the team struggled for a couple of weeks. That was two years ago and things have changed a lot since then. Initially we took on service from the supplier but now we have expert consultants who can manage anything on cloud.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We evaluated everything; AWS, Azure and Google. For various reasons, we settled on Google.
What other advice do I have?
I rate this solution a nine out of 10.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
