Intel Server System Reviews

I face different problems, though I wouldn't have much of a different story. In my company, we host Intel Server System as we face network hard drive problems almost every month.

The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it is more stable than AMD for VMware. Intel Server System has a good track record for the last 20 years. Multithreading and caching are areas where improvements keep increasing. If you look at the last four years, you will see a big difference when it comes to the area concerning processors.

When you have an Intel Server System, the prices may be much higher since it is a different processor, making the solution's pricing part one of its shortcomings where improvements are required.

I have experience with Intel Server System. My company is a customer of Intel.

Normally, the support my company receives for Intel will be through the vendors, like in the case of Dell or HP. I never dealt with Intel directly since it is Intel's vendor that supports our company.

My company has experience with different servers, especially the ones from AMD. Though AMD is a cheap product, my company chose Intel owing to its stability and performance.

The initial setup of the solution is complex since it involves virtual machines, clustering, and all such related stuff.

I rate the pricing a ten on a scale from one to ten, where one is inexpensive, and ten is very expensive.

I rate the overall tool an eight out of ten.

We used it internally for CPU intensive computing software.

It is stable and easy to manage.

The shipment time can be improved. When we order Intel products, we have to wait for a long time.

They can increase the local services and engineers in China. Local engineers will be able to know and understand customer problems much better.

I have been using Intel Server System for ten years.

It is very stable.

They can provide faster support in China through email or telephone. We prefer to use local service support because they communicate in the local language. It is easy to communicate with them. 

We did not use any other product.

The initial setup is complex. It took us maybe two weeks for the setup.

We used an integrator.

It is not expensive.

I would recommend this product. It is stable with good performance. We are satisfied with Intel's products. We hope that Intel will improve its local service and support. We will continue using this product in the future. 

I would rate Intel Server System a seven out of ten.

The price is competitive and it uses well known architecture and it's easy to develop for.

It's a standard server so it's a backbone of some of the services.

Since it's so standard, I think the price would the most important factor for improvement, for management to purchase it.

It's stable.

We have to scale it ourselves but it scales. It depends on the software because it's mostly the hardware platform that Intel is managing.

Technical support is average.

What made us switch was just the passage of time. The hardware platform changes over time, so you need to upgrade every two to 10 years.

Straightforward.

Actually we used a mixture of several vendors. HP being more mainstream, Intel for only a few of the side servers that I was involved in. The price among them was competitive.

The most important criteria when selecting a vendor are stability and support, management and price.

It's a well known, large company and the support is known to be available. However, I give it five out of 10 because, although they're well known, the system isn't really advanced compared to some of the competitors.

Price-wise, it's okay.
