I use it for backing up desktops as well as the server. I have deployed it on a client, and I have replication taking place using QNAP as well.
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
Overall, I find Macrium Reflect Workstation very user-friendly compared to any other solutions I have used before, such as Symantec and Acronis. It is very helpful in terms of migration from one platform to another, making it my product of choice. The software is also intuitive and easy to use for both beginners and seasoned professionals.
What needs improvement?
I don't have any complaints about it. For desktops, I recommend it over anyone else. It's my first time using it on a server, and it meets my requirements, and my clients are happy with it too.
For how long have I used the solution?
I started using Macrium Reflect Workstation almost five years ago. Initially, I used the desktop version, and recently in August, I ordered one for the server.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I haven't come across any issues with stability. I can clone a 500 GB drive within ten minutes with a new computer. The solution has been very reliable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I don't see anything problematic with scalability. I've deployed it in a server environment, and it meets our performance expectations. It doesn't matter if it's for one user or ten; it performs adequately.
How are customer service and support?
I have not had the need to call their technical support team for any reason.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I previously used Symantec, which was bought by another company, Broadcom. Their service was not satisfactory, leading me to switch to Macrium.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is straightforward, and there is no difficulty. I have been accustomed to various platforms since 1984, and setting it up is not a challenge.
What was our ROI?
Macrium Reflect Workstation makes our work very efficient in terms of backing up systems. It allows us to resolve issues swiftly, making it a valuable investment.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing is very reasonable, easy, and intuitive to use. There's no need for extensive experience to work on it. They often run a 40% discount near Thanksgiving.
What other advice do I have?
I recommend having two or three hard drives to ensure data safety. Don't rely on one media. Rotate them for backup security. I give Macrium Reflect Workstation a 10 out of 10.
