Our company uses the solution as a development platform for client projects that include marketplaces.
We have five developers and 200 other users.
Our company uses the solution as a development platform for client projects that include marketplaces.
We have five developers and 200 other users.
The autonomous database is valuable and provides the main structure for code development.
The solution does not include a default or custom template like other products.
The PL/SQL format is a bit limiting so newer technologies should be added. We currently cannot write anything beyond PL/SQL.
I have been using the solution for a few months.
The solution is stable.
The solution is scalable.
Customer support is good and gives unconditional assistance.
I rate support a ten out of ten.
One of our customers previously used OutSystems and Mendix.
The setup is very easy and just takes a few minutes. We can start building applications within five minutes.
The solution cloud-based so there is no implementation. Everything is almost done already so it takes two clicks to complete setup.
The pricing is very good and less expensive than Mendix or OutSystems. Pricing is a little bit higher than Microsoft products.
Extra features can be purchased based on your needs. Identity access management and token authentication are a little bit costly.
We also use SharePoint for normal application development.
I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
Our company has a partnership with the solution and we use it as a development platform. We have between 500 to 1,000 users.
The virtual patching feature is valuable.
The solution does its job by providing the needed protection.
The easy-to-use format is flexible and can scale.
The solution does not support the Linux platform.
I have been using the solution for two years.
The solution is pretty stable.
The solution is scalable with no issues.
Technical support is good and interactions with them are smooth.
I rate technical support a nine out of ten.
Positive
The initial setup is straightforward so I rate it a ten out of ten.
Our company is meeting goals for ROI.
The pricing is mid-range so is neither expensive nor cheap.
I rate pricing a nine out of ten.
Evaluate your implementation team properly before contracting with them. It is important to receive help from the best team in the market.
I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
We are using Oracle Application Express for user support. We provide users with data for analytics, ad hoc purposes, and to help build daily analytical reports. Also, we are using workflows in artificial intelligence and data science. Providing our users with this kind of data helps them with their data science workflow.
Oracle Application Express is also used to deploy data monitoring for data concurrency, data completeness, and data quality.
We used many data types and format types, like Excel files. By using Express, we are able to load the data and integrate it into our data map. This makes formatting much easier.
Building dashboards with the solution is easy and quick.
Oracle Application Express would be improved if you could use it on a mobile platform.
I have been using Oracle for 15 years.
I have no complaints about the performance of this solution.
Oracle Application Express is scalable. The size of the software is tied with the license.
Personally, I have not had to contact technical support. If I have any concerns, I will search the internet or ask one of my colleagues who have experienced the same problem.
The initial setup of Oracle Application Express is easy. Deployment was completed in less than four days.
Oracle Express comes with the Oracle license, it is a bundle.
Prior to using Oracle Application Express, we evaluated Power BI. Power BI can deploy dashboards, charts and reporting, however, Oracle is faster.
Oracle is faster than Power BI, however, it does require more skill to use. It is not easy for the common user to produce a chart from the data.
I would rate Oracle Application Express (APEX) an eight of 10 overall.
I would call them small supporting applications, so we use them when we need a web UI for certain users to show data from our environment, mainly in operations.
One of the most valuable features is the ability to build very fast data-driven UIs. Also, those UIs are web-based and don't require any deployment on the user side. We try to avoid complex add-ons or additions, so we stick to the standard features that APEX provides. We also use it for some workflows and to present data out of services or databases.
I think version control can be improved, meaning the ability to track what has changed from the previous version of the application and to see it in standard tools like the code repository. I know in the last versions they were working on it, but I haven't seen it yet.
The product deployment could be easier.
In the past, I've thought about dockerization, or the ability to deliver the application as a docker container, and establish the production environment in a job.
What I would love to see is more integration. I would like to see easier integration into active directory authentication. Also, maybe integration of JavaScript frameworks would resolve some issues.
We have been using APEX for at least eight to ten years.
The solution is highly stable and we have had no issues with it. On a scale of one to five, where one is highly stable and five is not, I would rate it as a one.
The scalability could be improved. It depends on the use cases. We will never use this solution for a productive environment with 500 to 1000 users because this would be a bit difficult in my opinion. I would say that the scalability for small applications is good, but the scalability for big applications is bad.
About 100 to 150 people are currently using the solution at my company.
We are continuously building small applications, but we don't plan to use this solution to make big applications. It's very use case driven. When we get a use case that is not big and it's easy to create a web-based application, then we use this solution. So we may extend our use of the solution, but we do not plan to migrate anything directly to it.
On a scale of one to five, where one is easy and five is complicated, I would rate the initial setup as a four.
We always lose a lot of time with our outsourcing partner because we don't host the service on our own. This takes some time, so to create the concept for us between the different environments and to do implement it, I would say it takes a minimum of five days.
When you have a licensed database in an Oracle environment, APEX is free.
I would tell those considering this tool that if you have an Oracle environment, it's worth taking a look at. If you don't have an Oracle environment in place, it's the wrong tool. Also, I would tell them to stick to the standard functionalities of APEX and not try to extend it with custom code. We learned that if you stick to the standards the application gives you, it's easy to maintain and it's easy to transfer from one developer to another. If you start to create custom code in hidden areas, it's very hard for the next developer to find the code.
I would rate this solution as an eight out of ten.
I use the solution for rapid application development.
The product is fast. It takes less time to go from development to production. It takes just a few minutes. Progressive Web Apps is the best feature of the product. It is helpful both on the cloud and on our mobile devices. The low code aspect of the solution has improved our productivity significantly. The security features have helped our applications to be secure from all dimensions.
There are not many triggers available. The product must provide more triggers.
I have been using the solution for six years.
We had issues with stability earlier when we were using the 19th edition. Now, we are using 23. It is far better than 19. Now, the product is stable. I rate the stability a seven out of ten.
We have 3000 users in our organization. The product is scalable. I rate the scalability an eight out of ten.
The product was easy to deploy.
I rate the pricing a three out of ten. The tool is not expensive.
Earlier, we were using Oracle applications. Now, we are using APEX. I will recommend the solution to others. Overall, I rate the tool an eight out of ten.
We use the product for customizing applications for our organization. We use it for legal affairs, customized reporting, and KPIs.
The product is easy to use. It accelerates development, and it is powerful. The report gives all the insights we need within a few steps.
The product must improve the transaction features. It is difficult to integrate the solution into other databases. It is a data-driven tool. It can only be deployed on Oracle Database.
I have been using the solution for five years.
The tool is very stable. We have been using some applications for five years without any serious issues. The tool is stable even as the data grows.
The tool is scalable. We have around 40 users in the organization. Sometimes, the number of users might reach 60, depending on the modules.
The community is very helpful. We do not raise many tickets to Oracle because the community solves most issues.
The initial setup is very straightforward.
The deployment took us one to two hours. If you already have Oracle installed, it will save you time. We have to run some files related to the product and store them in Oracle Database. Then, we can deploy and configure it with the application setup. We can use open-source platforms like Apache Tomcat or GlassFish. We need a solution architect and two developers for deployment and maintenance.
The product is completely free of cost. We have to pay for Oracle Database. Some people use Oracle Database Express Edition, which is free. They run the transactions through APIs.
The solution is directly connected with Oracle Database. Without Oracle Database, we can't develop it. I fully recommend the solution to users who have Oracle Database. We can use the solution for free if we have access to Oracle Database. It also covers some enterprise features. Overall, I rate the product a nine out of ten.
In some cases, it is a difficult tool. However, we have found that Oracle is more of a database and not a good tool for application development. As a result, we are currently facing some challenges, and we have not received enough help from the community. We are working hard to find solutions.
We had developed a CRM for the public and companies, and we were facing a few problems. The first problem was encrypting the customer's data so that it could not be seen. The second problem was integration, which was not as easy as Salesforce, even though we are also a partner of Salesforce. Salesforce is much easier to integrate compared to Oracle APEX. And the third challenge we faced was with the UI.
These are some of the challenges I am currently facing. We have been investing a lot of time and money into Oracle Apex. However, we are facing difficulties in integrating it with third-party applications. For example, if we want to integrate a payment gateway or accounting tool like Zero or QuickBooks. We are struggling to find a solution to this. Additionally, we want to integrate AI-based chatbots that can accept and create records through voice commands. We were considering working with Oracle APEX, but we may not be able to test it.
Databases are the most valuable feature in Oracle APEX for me. The database is super easy to use for creating tables.
The most important thing, in my opinion, is that it should allow end-users to create their own custom fields. For example, if you are my customer and you want to create custom fields, you should be able to do that yourself.
Secondly, it should be easy to map fields with other objects like CRM. If you are creating custom fields in the lead and want to create a few custom fields going further on the account contact opportunity, the end customer should be able to do this themselves rather than depending on us every time.
In the next release, we would like to see easy integration with third-party applications. Currently, Oracle is lacking big time in the marketplace. If you look at Salesforce, they have more than four thousand applications that you can easily download and configure with their platform. On the other hand, Oracle Apex has a limited marketplace, with only a few companies offering basic applications. Moreover, the existing marketplace applications are not fancy or AI-based. AI is a big thing, and Oracle is currently working on it.
I have been using this solution for three years. We are using version 22.5.
It is a stable solution. I would rate the stability a seven out of ten.
I would rate the scalability of Oracle APEX a four out of ten. Oracle is more of a database-oriented solution and is not very flexible in app development.
We have only received support from MaxApex people, who have been pretty helpful. Sometimes we get stuck with configuration issues, and they advise us on how to resolve them. They also showed us how to encrypt our data. However, if Oracle APEX has a professional community, it would be great to get more help because no company in the world has a UI like the one we have in our CRM.
We haven't received any support from Oracle. We've only received support from MaxApex.
We used Salesforce before. However, we switched to Oracle Application Express because it's not user-based but rather database-oriented. With it, we can create users and set prices based on our preferences rather than being limited by Salesforce's CRM options. Someone from an Oracle background suggested we try it out during our initial phase, and it was super easy for us to create pages, layouts, and fields. However, we need help as we move forward.
The initial setup was straightforward. However, as we started doing more development work, we faced a lot of challenges. I rate the initial setup at eight on a scale of one to ten.
Down the road, at a later stage, I would rate it a two or three at maximum. The initial setup was easy, but as the complexity of the project increased, we encountered several difficulties. Currently, we only have two people who take care of maintenance and development. We have slowed down our development since we have been doing this for the past three years.
The deployment was done in-house since we have our own team of developers who took care of it. The deployment didn't take much time because MaxApex was really good, and they helped us in different areas. We have deployed it in the cloud version and used MaxApex as our cloud provider. We contacted MaxApex, and they provided us with enough space on the cloud. The rest of the deployment was handled by our technical team. Moreover, we only needed two experienced people who help us deploy on the cloud.
I would rate it around an eight in terms of price, with one being low and ten being high.
We only tried Salesforce. Salesforce has a platform called Force.com, but there was a limitation on the number of objects we could create. If we had to create more than ten objects, Salesforce would start charging twenty-five dollars per user per month. If we wanted to create an unlimited number of objects, Salesforce would charge a hundred dollars per user per month. As we were targeting a market with customers who may not have a big budget, we were trying to find a more cost-effective solution. So we were looking for a more affordable and cost-effective solution for these customers.
I would rate this product as a five out of ten, right in the middle. Number one, it is easy to scale for simple matters. However, when it comes to complex development, it can be challenging and time-consuming.
Oracle Application Express (APEX) works on data automation. For example. We are building a web application that can auto audit or auto perform examinations for different data and just the user doesn't need to do the examination by itself or do the examination manually. This is exactly how the software works.
I particularly enjoy the web builder capabilities, especially the Page Designer.
It offers so many elements or components to choose from, which is a major plus for me.
I don't need to know how things truly function with them, and I don't need HTML or have front-end understanding; I can just drag and drop and create or customize a web page by myself.
In my opinion, the UI of the entire program is quite complicated for beginners to understand, especially when it comes to finding a different list or, different kinds of features because the features are not really categorized in the same categories.
Perhaps it is the name of the categories that are different or not exactly straightforward.
The user needs to think about or do more research on the internet to know where exactly the feature is that they are looking for or where they can find it.
Another issue I used to encounter was with the debugging functions. I believe this is an area where Oracle APEX could improve significantly in terms of displaying error messages or error pages.
It is very difficult to detect bugs or which bugs you are having when it comes to errors or which errors you have.
Oracle displays an error page to demonstrate the issue.
When compared to Arotech, or PowerApps, they show you the root cause of it at the very least, which is more information provided when it comes to debugging.
In terms of new features, I'd want to see any type of new functionality in the future, or at the very least update the tutorial or user interface.
The only thing I can think of that might be improved is additional information regarding the root cause or more troubleshooting suggestions.
I have been working with Oracle Application Express (APEX) for three months.
I believe that we are using version 2021.
It's definitely not the most recent version since I'm using it through the company's licensing. We are using an older version.
In my opinion, I believe it is stable. I haven't encountered any issues, or anything such as letting us have system errors, problems, or anything else.
I would rate the stability an eight or a nine out of ten.
Oracle Application Express (APEX) is a scalable solution.
It has the flexibility to accept more users.
This solution is used by ten employees of the company. Half of the employees are administrators and the others are users.
The scalability is good.
We want to increase our use in the future, but I'm not sure if I'll remain with Oracle Application Express (APEX) or experiment with alternative forms of software and low-code apps.
Overall, I appreciate the approach, and I enjoy the program. It will definitely be one of the options in this approach in the future.
I have not reached out to technical support.
We are also working with Microsoft Power Apps.
Power App is only for my own use. It's also different, and there are clearly various use cases, however, I designed the procedure to synchronize a list. Basically, I have a list containing all of the product information, such as the product number, name, and date the data was generated and distributed.
I used it to create inventory management to view the current state of the product and then the production line. It has several applications, but I believe the directions of data analysis.
It provides an overview of the list, and this is its purpose. This is how PowerApps is used.
The initial setup is quite straightforward, especially when connecting to the SQL workshop.
It took at least two months to get everything to function and then run certain operations, In general, I would estimate one to two months to create a basic program.
I had some assistance from some colleagues in my workplace, who have prior expertise, and they have been quite helpful. I have also learned a lot on the Internet, including instructions supplied by APEX websites.
At the time that I had started with this company, they had 15 to 20 employees who had been using this solution.
I am not aware of the pricing. I don't deal with this area.
I conducted research. Apex, Microsoft Power Apps, and others are also good.
It is also a useful program for doing data automation time. Unfortunately, I was not given the authority to pick which program to use.
This solution has been used in the company for a while and they wanted to build the information they had. I am fully dedicated to the program.
Oracle Application Express (APEX) excels in data automation and digitization.
It also supports Dynamics reports and Dynamics Graphical charts, as well as analytical methods.
I believe it is good, and it is simple to implement.
You will save a lot of time for developers to develop their use cases, or implement their use cases into the software.
It allows many users to users to use it. I would say it is good software with enough information on the Internet for people to learn.
Just maybe it's not really good for a brand new beginner who doesn't have any programming or software knowledge, it will be a little bit more difficult to speak with Apex, but overall, I think this local platform saved a lot of time for developers or companies to build their customized, management system or customized ERP.
I would rate Oracle Application Express (APEX) a seven out of ten.
The three-point loss is because of the debugging issue that they have, as well as the interface, which is not very straightforward and is not completely understood.
We're using version 18. This solution is deployed on a private cloud.
We're using APEX to create web pages that display data from our database.
It helps us create web pages quickly. If we create web pages manually, we need to create a web service, which requires more time and more resources from Amazon. With APEX, we can easily configure and set up web pages.
When we connect to web pages, APEX creates dedicated sessions in the databases. It would be easier if we could control the shared sessions. For example, if 10 people connect to 10 web pages, APEX will create 10 sessions for two databases. If we share the sessions, we can easily control the sessions and save resources.
I have used APEX for one year.
The stability is okay because if the database works, APEX will work.
I would rate the stability as nine out of ten.
To scale APEX, you need to scale the databases. They're directly related.
I would rate the scalability as six out of ten.
Setup isn't difficult, but you need to prepare and read the documentation. For example, the setup will be different in Amazon.
Deployment depends on the architecture. It's easy to export configurations from APEX. You only need to make simple changes when importing configurations.
If you want to update versions of APEX, it's difficult because you need to redesign your own web pages. For example, the new version of APEX can't use old designs, so you need to check different web page designs before updating APEX. It's one of the points of difficulty in APEX.
You also need an APEX specialist for deployment because not many people use it.
Oracle has official documentation that shows how to do setup, so it isn't difficult.
I would rate this solution as seven out of ten.
My organization's primary use case for Oracle Application Express (APEX) is application development, as it's an Oracle builder software so that you can develop applications on it for the Oracle database.
The application developed on Oracle Application Express (APEX) is used for patient registrations, clinical documentation, and electronic medical records. It's also used for insurance purposes, billing claims, and coding. The finance team also uses the application that's on Oracle Application Express (APEX) for reporting, and the marketing team uses it for the CRM that's been developed by my organization. The nursing and doctor teams also have modules on Oracle Application Express (APEX), so in terms of use cases, it's used by different departments of my organization.
What I like best about Oracle Application Express (APEX) is that it doesn't require hard coding for reporting and building applications. It's a GUI-based application builder that even end-users with little development and language knowledge can develop applications on Oracle Application Express (APEX). The software is also very user-friendly, which I find valuable.
An area for improvement in Oracle Application Express (APEX) is the slow reporting because pulling the report for two months, one year, three years, etc., is very slow. It takes more than thirty minutes to download the report.
There's also room for improvement in integrating Oracle Application Express (APEX) with other vendors, such as open-source solutions through API integration. I believe Oracle is working on this feature, or the issue could be because my organization is using an older version of Oracle Application Express (APEX).
The Oracle database also has to be improved because it's still lacking in some packages, triggers, and indexes.
Process or workflow automation is a feature I'd like to see in the next version of Oracle Application Express (APEX). My organization has a lot of processes because the patient has to click a button to trigger a consultation with the doctor, so if the process is automated, that will make Oracle Application Express (APEX) better for my organization.
I've been using Oracle Application Express (APEX) for eight years, but I'm not a developer. I'm just a front-end support person.
Oracle Application Express (APEX) isn't a reliable solution, at least the current version used in my organization. You must monitor it every day or every two days because it can be down anytime. My organization has a daily backup for it and even sets up emergency servers because the server has downtime for thirty minutes to one hour, or randomly, once or twice a month.
Oracle Application Express (APEX) can't seem to handle the user requests sent to the server, so the server was upgraded, but this could be because it's an old version, and if my organization upgrades to the new version of Oracle Application Express (APEX), maybe it'll sort out the stability issue.
Oracle Application Express (APEX) isn't a scalable solution because my team had to check a workaround to be able to scale it. For example, if the database reaches 80% or if it has a lot of users in one day, there's no scalability option for those instances.
I haven't tried contacting the technical support for Oracle Application Express (APEX) because a different team contacts Oracle support.
Oracle Application Express (APEX) is very easy to deploy. I deployed it on my new branch, and it only took me five to six hours to complete the deployment.
I implemented Oracle Application Express (APEX) for a new branch, so the implementation was in-house.
To my understanding, my organization is using the free version of Oracle Application Express (APEX), but I'm unsure because I haven't checked the pricing or licensing cost for it.
My organization was new to the business when it decided to use Oracle Application Express (APEX). Management realized there was a better solution that was also Oracle-based, without the issues encountered by Oracle Application Express (APEX). Hence, there's a plan to switch to the other Oracle solution next year in the first quarter.
I work in the healthcare sector, and the EMR system I'm using is developed on Oracle Application Express (APEX). My organization also uses Microsoft 365, but just the basic version for exchange purposes.
I'm a user of Oracle Application Express (APEX). I'm using a very old version of Oracle Application Express (APEX), version 4.2.
I'd advise anyone looking into using Oracle Application Express (APEX) to try the new version of the solution rather than the old version because the new version is good. Oracle has updated the forms and reports in the latest version and integrated many APIs for open-source solutions. The new version of Oracle Application Express (APEX) is more advanced than the older version because it now has SQL server compatibility, so I recommend it.
My rating for Oracle Application Express (APEX) is six out of ten, particularly for the current version used in my organization, as it has a lot of issues, but as I've said, it's an old version that needs to be updated to the latest one.
My organization is an Oracle customer.
