What is our primary use case?



I am an integrator working with Palo Alto Networks CN-Series and Panorama. I have been involved with the implementation of Palo Alto Networks CN-Series.

What is most valuable?



The stability of Palo Alto Networks CN-Series is excellent. Application control is one of the most valuable features. Its monitoring capability is very good, especially when integrated with Panorama.

What needs improvement?



Palo Alto Networks CN-Series could improve on its pricing as it is quite expensive. The SD-WAN implementation using Panorama needs enhancement because it involves a specific plugin and configuring many elements, making it not very straightforward.

For how long have I used the solution?



I have been using Palo Alto Networks firewalls for around eight years, but the CN-Series specifically for more than a year.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?



The initial setup of Palo Alto Networks CN-Series is relatively straightforward. However, the SD-WAN implementation can be a bit tricky due to the need for a specific plugin and configuration of multiple elements.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?



The solution is very stable and reliable.

Flexible, increases visibility, and offers good threat detection

What is our primary use case?



We primarily use the solution for security. It's helped us provide secure access to the internet for instances running on the cloud. On-premises, it provides secure access to the internet.


How has it helped my organization?



The solution's flexibility has been very useful for us. We've been able to gain more visibility on our traffic.


What is most valuable?



The specific apps for the solution are good. It offers very useful next-gen firewall features like HTTPS and application inspections. We are able to analyze traffic or user traffic is very valuable. 

The app inspection is very helpful for network security. 

The threat protection has been very beneficial. For example, when we need to analyze which apps a power user has been using or what type of destinations have been accessed, we are able to see what's going on.


What needs improvement?



Wi-Fi security and access could be improved. They are legacy features. They are not sophisticated or intelligent. They could add more security features. I'd like to see more IOPs features. I'd like to see optimization of IOPs management and integration into firewall rules. 


For how long have I used the solution?



I've been using the solution for one year. 


What do I think about the stability of the solution?



The solution is stable. We haven't had any bugs or issues. 


What do I think about the scalability of the solution?



The scalability is very good. I'd rate it eight out of ten in terms of ease of scalability. We have about 100 users using the solution.

I don't have any experience with other solutions. 


How was the initial setup?



I was involved in the deployment process. I'd rate the initial setup process seven out of ten as it was not so easy and yet not too complex. 

The deployment took about one month.

I'm not sure of the exact pricing of the solution. The price range may be a little high.
