TIBCO Live Datamart Reviews

Datamart is mainly used for data streaming. If you're looking to move charts or the stock market, move bars and graphs, then Live Datamart is suitable for creating aggregated data. We aggregate in StreamBase and then store the data in Live Datamart. Whatever data you're streaming can be sent to any live APIs. I'm an associate vice president for solutions, presales and services.

This product has a powerful aggregating feature which is great. It also has its own APIs. Whenever the data comes in, it can be streamed out anywhere. It's the only solution that provides real-time dashboards. Tableau doesn't have this feature. The three variants of historical data, real-time data and predicted data from Spitfire, give more strength to LiveDatamart without any dependency on other products. The product is easy to set up with very low maintenance required. 

Improvements need to be made on the load balancing side. This is a data store, you cannot run it in a fault online mode. The hardware exchange and other things need to be very precisely defined, and that's a little difficult.

I've been using this solution for about four years. 

The solution is very stable. 

Live Datamart runs on JVM which only holds Java and only 60 GB of data. If you try to get more out of it than that, it crashes.

This is a flagship product and the technical support is good.

I implemented this solution and it didn't take much time, it's pretty fast. 

Whenever you purchase a Live Datamart license, you need to purchase a license of StreamBase. Datamart doesn't run without StreamBase. 

If you're looking for real-time data, not on-demand data, then I recommend Live Datamart. It is unlike any other data source. 

I would rate this solution 10 out of 10 but because it's a bundled solution and not a stand-alone, I rate it nine out of 10. 

The solution is a combination product that sits on top of StreamBase and Spotfire. It originated in America and the markets there and in Europe are more mature. Turkey is still having a hard time industrializing these kind of products. If the product is understood well enough, it will be implemented in every industry as soon as possible rather than mostly in the capital market.

We use the solution to follow algorithmic trading on the stock exchange. It provides real-time alerting mechanisms for fraud, ups and downs, and other intelligence. 

The solution's memory tables collect and assess data from several stock exchange banks or other suppliers. We can set intelligence rules that require the system to automatically trigger alert messages. 

Adapters can be created to collect data from any market in the world. 

The interface and GUI are very easy to drag and drop. 

You can create your own rules that include mathematic calculations. Users in the capital market are accustomed to advanced calculations in Excel so it is easy for them to create rules with the solution. 

The solution's setup could be quicker and easier. IT experts are required from the server side. Advanced users can implement quickly but there always a need for some drag-and-drop flow improvements. 

The GUI side could be easier for advanced calculations or algorithmic trading because they require setting up additional functionality. SIM-based users define calculations so they need to know how to use Spotfire or StreamBase first in order to create real-time dashboards. 

More industry or market verticals should be added. Currently, verticals exist for the stock exchange, maintenance management, eBusiness, and real-time intelligence.

Our team has been using the solution for years. We provide high-level architectural consultation and business object data services. 

The solution is mature and stable, even more so since it was acquired by TIBCO. 

The solution is scalable because there are many scenarios for active clusters and vertical or horizontal extensions. 

I serve as the middleman between the solution and customers. I help customers learn it so they will not require much technical support. For example, one customer was working in a stock exchange department, learned the solution, and implemented it at his new job without assistance other than a few emailed questions. 

Technical support is definitely sufficient and knowledgeable. The only challenge is getting a direct number for a particular level of support. 

I rate support an eight out of ten.

The initial setup requires some IT items from the server side. 

Installation is easy and takes about one hour. Enterprise environments might take a bit longer because of security protocols. Other heavily visual products take much longer to install and implement. 

Setup is rated a ten out of ten. 

One of our IT business staff members handles customer implementations. Ongoing maintenance is just ensuring the server is up and running. 

We continue to play with the solution for real-time maintenance management. 

The solution might be considered a bit expensive because it competes with open-source products. 

In comparison to Azure Libraries, the solution provides a free library and a basic infrastructure for the entire implementation. 

I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
