Trend Micro Email Security Reviews

The main usage of Trend Micro, in general, is for email. There were a lot of attacks. We work in Saudi Arabia, and I believe Saudi Arabia is targeted. So we have a lot of hacks. 

In spite of our firewall and security systems, I found that most of the attacks came through emails. So, after installing Trend Micro, I actually used Proofpoint, Trend Micro, and then Microsoft Defender. Over time, I found that Trend Micro alone is quite enough.

Now, I am satisfied with the protection that Trend Micro provides to email.

It's a complete solution for not only email, but for any kind of attack - for the network, for antivirus, everything.

Blocking spam is the most valuable aspect of this product for me. Some people can hack our system by sending emails from our domain to our domain. This is blocked completely by Trend Micro. 

Another one is that if I give you a public email, like ABC@gmail.com, ABC is not related to the display name. So people use this tactic here in this area; they pick up the names of the chairman, for instance, from the Internet or whatever, and then create a public email. So, the display name is very different from the public email address. I found that Trend Micro can block this. 

We suffered a lot from such attacks. We can look at it; it's a normal email. It's just that someone can create a fake email or a true public email but with a fake display name. None of the other antivirus programs could catch this, but we reported this many times to Trend Micro. 

Then, we came up with a solution where they compared the display name to the email address. If there's a big difference, they can contain the email until you take action. Trend Micro Security detects such emails.

Trend Micro Email Security can improve on scam detection. It could use AI in this area. For example, there is a normal email, and it asks for contact information or to make a relationship or something like that. So it needs a feature that can read the contents of the emails or the attached files. Maybe this could be done through AI tools that can analyze if this is a kind of scam or not.

I have been using it for two years now.

It is stable. I don't have any complaints so far. Otherwise, I would change it. I would go for another product.

We have emails from Microsoft 365, specifically CloudOne. For backup, we use a software called CodeTwo. We used the major security measures of Microsoft.

With Microsoft Defender, something was wrong with the configuration; maybe from our side or the vendor's side, it was not effective. That's why we went for Trend Micro.

The implementation of Trend Micro into our IT security workflow was quite simple.

We are not a bank or a financial services company. We are a manufacturing company or group. So, the security measures here are really different from those of a financial services company. 

Here, all we have is firewalls in each branch like this, and we have Trend Micro.

It is quite easy to setup. I would rate my experience with the initial setup an eight out of ten, with ten being easy and one being difficult. It took a couple of hours. 

It is set up in the cloud environment. 

There has been ROI. Security is very crucial to our business. And if you have communication with your customers or clients, especially if there is something related to invoicing or payment, it's quite critical that you make sure that whatever you see or send is correct and confidential. Because it happened before that we lost some data because of this kind of attack.

The pricing is reasonable. 

The features of such security software are all very similar, and very close to each other. But if you would like to select one, look at the support. It is quite important. So is the local agent. With Trend Micro, I found it easy to deal with these people.

With the vendor and their support, because, for some reason, Trend Micro is famous here in Saudi Arabia.

Overall, I would rate the solution an eight out of ten, with ten being the best and one being the worst.

I use the tool in my company to control spam spam emails. There are certain spam emails that come into an enterprise. The basic use cases of the tool involve stopping spam emails so that our enterprise remains protected from different attacks.

The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it has been integrated with sandbox, which is something good. The rest of the tools in the market have a separate sandbox solution. The integration capability of the solution is good.

The capacity handling and the scalability of the solution need to be improved since I feel Trend Micro lacks in such areas.

I have been using Trend Micro Email Security for three years. My company has a partnership with Trend Micro. I use the solution's latest version.

The stability of the product is good.

If the enterprise is big and you have many users like if you have more than 2,000 users, the performance of the system needs to be increased

Our main use case for Trend Micro Email Security is to filter out spam, phishing, and suspicious emails before they reach my inbox. It adds an extra layer of protection to block harmful content and protect me. Additionally, it includes image security features, such as blacklisting and whitelisting, to further enhance security.

Trend Micro Email Security has helped reduce overall security expenditures.

I find the anti-phishing and anti-spam features most valuable because they reduce false positives and enhance security. Also, the image security feature is helpful, especially with just two pictures.

In terms of improvement, reducing false positives would improve the system. If there were fewer false positives, it would be nearly perfect.

In the next release, I would like to see improved detection for emails containing only text, especially if they seem suspicious but lack links or attachments. Currently, Trend Micro Email Security is effective with emails containing links or attachments, but those with only text can slip through unnoticed.

I have been using Trend Micro Email Security for almost two years.

We have had a few minor stability issues, but overall the stability of the solution is good.

The scalability of the solution is quite good. We have approximately 40 employees who use it at our company.

The technical support is good and responsive. I would rate them as a ten out of ten.

Trend Micro Email Security uses AI, along with its XDR solution, to enhance email protection. By accessing intelligence and analyzing attacks, it enables faster investigation and response to security threats, helping to identify vulnerabilities and take proactive measures.

Overall, I would rate Trend Micro Email Security as a ten out of ten.

We use Trend Micro Email Security for the security of our email services.

As a manufacturing unit, we need to coordinate with other businesses, vendors, and suppliers. So every day, we get a lot of emails, and out of 100 emails, 70 to 80 are spam emails or malware. Trend Micro Email Security blocks such spam emails and allows only genuine emails to reach our mailbox.

Trend Micro Email Security scans all email attachments because, nowadays, ransomware or malware files are sent through email attachments. So we receive the email only after they are scanned, and then we know it's safe to open the attachment.

Attachment scanning is our priority because a user may not be aware of whether the email attachment needs to be opened. If they open by mistake, it might cause a security lapse. Trend Micro Email Security helps us a lot on this front, and such emails get blocked on the server.

Trend Micro Email Security should introduce new features, improvements, and updates which are cost-effective and easy to deploy.

I have been working with Trend Micro Email Security for the last six years.

Around 2,000 users are using Trend Micro Email Security in our organization. We are a manufacturing unit, and email services are given to our employees in different departments. So anyone using our official email is a part of this service.

I rate Trend Micro Email Security ten out of ten for scalability.

Trend Micro Email Security's technical support is good. When we open a ticket with the service desk, they immediately revert with the solution or ask us to provide the logs.

I rate Trend Micro Email Security a nine out of ten for the ease of its initial setup.

Trend Micro Email Security can be deployed within 24 hours.

Our email needs to be pointed to that. So any email we send to the public network or any email coming from the public network should first hit the anti-spam server. Once the anti-spam server does the scanning, the email should be delivered to my network. So the pointer should be on the ISP side and point to the Trend Micro Cloud Server.

Trend Micro Email Security's pricing is reasonable. On a scale of one to ten, where one is the low price, and ten is the high price, I rate Trend Micro Email Security's pricing a five out of ten.

Before choosing Trend Micro Email Security, we evaluated Symantec.

Trend Micro Email Security is deployed on-cloud in our organization.

I recommend users do a POC, and if they're satisfied, they should deploy Trend Micro Email Security.

Overall, I rate Trend Micro Email Security a six out of ten.

Our customers use it for policy compliance. 

The solution provides anti-malware protection.

Trend Micro constantly releases new versions and patches based on evolving needs.

Moreover, it's easy to use and configure. 

There is room for improvement in the support. The response time could be faster. 

We have enterprise level businesses as our customers. It can handle big amounts of data. 

The customer service and support are good. 

There is a complete escalation metric available. We can log a case, and they assign an engineer who communicates through email. They might request additional information depending on the issue.

It's a bit expensive compared to other options, but the customer values the support, quality, and brand reputation offered by Trend Micro.

Overall, I would rate the solution a nine out of ten. The product and implementation are good, and customers are satisfied. However, sometimes resolving issues takes longer than expected.

Our company uses the solution to provide email protection services to customers. 

The performance is great.

Function checks for reputation, vaccine, and email systems are better than what is offered by other products. 

The interface is really good. 

The send box needs improvement to match other products.

The solution does not check scam emails which is a critical need for our customers. 

It would be beneficial to deepen the ASM and ATO. Phishing emails are really dangerous and steal information so we want to tag them as scams.

I also use FireEye EX.

I distribute the solution to customers because it is inexpensive and will deepen their APT protections. It is appropriate for small or medium-sized businesses. 

I recommend FireEye EX to customers in the mid-priced category because it is SaaS and can be used at the same time as APT for send box management. The mirror feature can run many tests at the same time with good performance. 

I rate the solution a six out of ten. 

We use Trend Micro Email Security for customers who need spam protection.

The most valuable features of the solution are spam protection and email continuity. Even when the customer email servers are down, we can still send emails through Trend Micro Email Security. Trend Micro Email Security is a reliable solution.

The solution's multi-tenancy could be improved. I would like to see more integration of Trend Micro Email Security with different platforms.

Trend Micro Email Security can be deployed within 15 to 30 minutes. I can deploy the solution by myself. The customer needs to route their emails to the given metrics.

Trend Micro Email Security is not an expensive solution. Our customers need to pay an annual licensing fee for Trend Micro Email Security.

Trend Micro supports both on-premises and cloud deployment of the solution. The advanced threat protection of Trend Micro Email Security has the certificate of the latest reports. The solution's user interface is good, and we can export the UI interfaces as PDFs. Trend Micro Email Security has user-friendly dashboards.

I would recommend Trend Micro Email Security for customers who need spam protection.

Overall, I rate the solution a 9 out of 10.

We use it to protect our email platform for multiple users.

Since implementing it, we've seen a significant improvement in security. We no longer receive spam emails, and we're protected from various cyberattacks, including ransomware and social engineering.

The spam filter has been the most valuable feature. 

There is room for improvement in threat detection, especially for advanced attacks and business email compromise.  Improved back detection and protection for business email compromise would be very beneficial.

Recently, I briefly evaluated FortiMail, but I prefer Trend Micro.

I would recommend using this solution. It works perfectly with any on-premise email platform.
