The biggest area for improvement in FileCloud is the admin experience around troubleshooting and observability. Core functionality is strong, but when something breaks, especially in sync edge cases or client behavior, the root cause analysis can take longer than ideal. FileCloud provides logs, but they are not always as intuitive or correlated as preferred. It is manageable, just not as streamlined as some newer platforms. I would also appreciate clearer documentation for advanced configuration and troubleshooting paths in FileCloud. Setup documentation is generally adequate, but edge cases and operational issues sometimes require excessive trial and error. Several improved runbooks around sync diagnostics, permission inheritance, and upgrade planning would save considerable admin time. Even modest improvements in these areas would make FileCloud easier to operate at scale.
The user interface could be more modern and intuitive, as other alternative options have a better-looking UI. The initial setup and configuration can also be overwhelming for a new user who has never worked on FileCloud. FileCloud can enhance the UI/UX of the main page, and the initial setup and configuration could be more detailed in the documentation so that it is not overwhelming for a newcomer. Overall, in terms of performance, FileCloud is already good enough, but for smaller teams, it can be a bit complex for the initial setup. A better user experience would make FileCloud more accessible for smaller teams.
FileCloud can be improved by providing easier access to set up drive mount on a Mac without the use of other applications like Fuse. Updates need to be more apparent to FileCloud drive.

I noticed a feature in competitors that requires two-factor authentication (2FA) for uploading and downloading files in the share folder, which adds an extra security layer. I haven't seen this implemented on FileCloud, and it would add a valuable advantage for security. Additionally, currently, FileCloud's compatibility for Linux implementation is limited to only Ubuntu or Red Hat Enterprise Server. Expanding compatibility to other Linux distributions could be beneficial for users.
