I haven't used the income tracking feature in QuickBooks; I usually review the P&L to determine the company's income and share my review points with the client. I don't use the budget generation feature in QuickBooks. The pricing of QuickBooks should be more budget-friendly.

The reporting in QuickBooks is terrible and there's no flexibility in it. It only has standard reports that you can modify slightly. In the end, I have to do a lot of exporting trial balances and create reports I need in Excel. It would be good if QuickBooks had the option to access a multi-entity company from a single login once it's set up and post transactions to any of them or among them. In addition, they should have a better financial report writer. When it comes to any additional features, I cannot really think of anything specific since I don't use QuickBooks that much anymore. I have moved on from it. I only use it in a couple of places where it's well-suited, but I definitely would not purchase it today.

The solution's import function can be quite complex and not as smooth. Importing data is a more complex process compared to the straightforward export feature.
In terms of expansion, we stopped using QuickBooks POS at some point because you can’t scale. We couldn’t scale to more than 32 locations when the business grew. The scalability, support and price could be improved.

The only concern that I've always had, and it's been a consistent issue that I've heard from others, which is when a file is exported from QuickBooks Desktop and imported into QuickBooks Online, there are accounts that are inactivated or deleted and duplicated. I don't know if it's a bug in the system or what it is, but there's the chart of accounts and the issue is always in the chart of accounts. Their bank feeds are not the greatest. This was one of the biggest reasons why I wanted to switch to the online version. In QuickBooks Desktop, you have to manually upload the bank feeds daily or wait until the end of the month and pull all of the data because, for some banks, there's no sync between the two.
As of right now, you cannot edit secondary lists in a batch feature. I would like to see that changed and that is one area of improvement that is high on my list of suggestions to them. The other would be just the importation of data. There's actually a really good third-party tool that I found that solves that problem.

The area that I don't use as much is the area about reconciliation with the bank accounts. I do all of that manually. So, the area that they can probably improve upon is just better reconciliation with the bank accounts. There are also a few little things that could be done better. For example, I'm running a 2019 desktop, and the support for it will go out of service at the end of May. They put these big red flags on your product that says you're out of the support window.

I would like to have data conversion and upload applications included, without having to pay separately for them. For example, if I export bank account data to a CSV file, I then have to subscribe or pay for a service that will allow me to import that data as checks or deposits. QuickBooks allows for the direct import of List information only, and not journal entries, or financial account transactions (i.e. Individual cash, check, or credit card transactions).
The customer response team is slow and sometimes causes the user to have a loss. Improving this would attract new users and help existing users utilize the software for optimum profitability.
The ability to integrate outside apps is lacking (compared to the online versions) and ability to download bank transactions does not work as well as it should.
