My main use case for SimilarWeb is analyzing website traffic and understanding how much traffic a website receives in a specific country. I also use it to understand market share and market dynamics, often evaluating multiple websites, like ten, twenty, or even a hundred, to gain insights. Additionally, I use it for analyzing the split of marketing channels, benchmarking against competitors, and understanding trends.
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The website analysis feature in SimilarWeb is vital for my work. It provides everything I need by allowing me to input any domain and filter by country. I can see the number of visitors over time, the number of unique users, session duration, clicks per session, and more. This helps me understand traffic patterns, user engagement metrics, and user journeys before and after visiting a site. Having this comprehensive data in one feature gives me crucial information for strategic planning. Additionally, there is a unique feature to look at outgoing traffic from ChatGPT or Perplexity, showing how much traffic certain websites receive from these tools.
What needs improvement?
Apart from the hefty price tag, SimilarWeb is already an amazing piece of software. They should be careful not to add too many distracting features that could hide the core functionality.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using SimilarWeb on and off for ten years.
How are customer service and support?
I have had a very good experience with SimilarWeb's customer support. However, I sometimes have very specific requests for data and have not always received straight answers.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Many years ago, I used Alexa, but I switched because Alexa no longer provided the kind of data I needed. SimilarWeb became the de facto standard for this data.
What was our ROI?
I cannot share specific metrics since the insights provided by SimilarWeb are unique. It improves the quality of decisions by providing data that would otherwise be unavailable, which is difficult to quantify in traditional ROI terms.
What other advice do I have?
Just use it. It is the best software out there for what it offers. I rate SimilarWeb a nine out of ten. It just works, and the data is helpful and insightful. I enjoy using it, and I have been using it for years.
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
