The migration I was involved in with Avepoint FLY was for an oil and gas industry, specifically from a file server to SharePoint Online, and we moved approximately two terabytes of data.

Some of the best features with Avepoint FLY are that it is very easy to use, and the tool moves files quite quickly.

I have utilized the comprehensive pre-migration assessment feature with Avepoint FLY, which was very valuable.

The feature that helps identify files that exceed file path length limitations was one of the best features, allowing us to identify files with names that were too long before the migration. This was probably our most beneficial feature.

The mapping was fantastic for us with Avepoint FLY, helping to align migration projects with our goals.

There were some areas that could be improved with Avepoint FLY, particularly regarding an issue with the final reporting. While I cannot remember the exact issue, it was related to the final report concerning which files were migrated and what errors occurred. However, this could have been a user problem rather than an application problem.

I have dealt with solutions such as Avepoint FLY and have used it for a couple of migrations, which I was happy to complete.

I didn't need to reach out to their support or customer service at any time.

Setting up Avepoint FLY was very straightforward for me. The documentation was great. I found Avepoint FLY's documentation very thorough, and with their documentation, I was able to resolve all the questions I had.

The return on investment with Avepoint FLY definitely helped in saving costs because once I set up all of my migration configuration profiles, I could start the process. I was able to schedule future migrations and only needed to check on things periodically to ensure everything was flowing properly.

My experience with the pricing and setup cost of Avepoint FLY was that it is very competitive and fairly priced. It was significantly cheaper than some of the alternatives I was exploring, such as DropSuite and BitTitan.

The main differences between Avepoint FLY and the alternatives, BitTitan and DropSuite, were primarily price, and my colleague's recommendation of Avepoint FLY was the deciding factor.

For the advanced filtering or mapping functionalities to tailor migrations, I used the mapping feature.

Avepoint FLY's intuitive interface and automated processes simplified the migration process for data transfer.

I would recommend Avepoint FLY to other businesses.

My company uses it to migrate the mail process from the on-premises version of Microsoft Exchange Server to Microsoft Exchange Online Version.

Right now, AvePoint FLY doesn’t provide us with help to identify the size of the mailed items for a certain period. As a discovery tool, AvePoint FLY provides us with information at a folder or mailbox level. For a particular user, if I want to see the email size for the last year or from 2020 to 2022, then they can provide some statistics as part of its functionality as a discovery tool. Based on the statistical data we receive from AvePoint FLY, the migration to the archive mailbox can be planned.

I have been using AvePoint FLY for two years. I feel I use the solution's latest version. My company has a partnership with AvePoint.

It is a very stable solution. For our company's customers, who had a mailbox with 40 GB, we used a hybrid native tool. For any mailbox of more than 40 GB, we use a hybrid native tool. Usually, the hybrid native tool fails, and there is no incremental migration kind of thing, but it has been working well and fast for AvePoint FLY.

It is a scalable solution. AvePoint FLY has the concept of an agent, allowing its users to create multiple agents based on their infrastructures. Each agent in the tool works together to migrate the content of a mailbox.

It is a migration tool and is used mostly by the IT team. We use the tool for administration purposes with the help of three to four people for the migration of 150 mailboxes.

The solution's technical support was good since they responded very promptly.

The initial setup phase can be described as a very user-friendly one. Before the setup phase, you should read their documentation and understand the functionalities of the tool mentioned in it.

The solution is deployed on-premises.

It is a migration tool, so you are not going to use it for a long time because the prices are based on a per-user or storage model. The prices are applicable for a month or a year.

The prices of the tool are neither low nor high, so it can be considered a moderately-priced product.

My company chose AvePoint over other tools since many customers use AvePoint. Our company also has the skilled resources to manage AvePoint. No complexities exist in using AvePoint since they provide prompt support if we face any issues.

The main challenge my company faced was with a particular customer who had mailbox data of more than 100 GB without any archive, so migration is not possible with hybrid native tools. Either we have to create an archive mailbox and then migrate using Microsoft Exchange's native tool, which the customer did not do since they could not provision archive storage. The tool can migrate some data set, like some period of data, from the archive mailbox directly to anything online. The use of the tool involves the need for a lot of resources, like storage and CPU, to be deployed on-premise. With AvePoint FLY's functionalities, one can migrate any number of mailboxes with any storage directly to an archive mailbox.

To see if AvePoint FLY applies to any product in your environment, you should read the guides, usually available to the partners. AvePoint provides a link to those who purchase their products. You should first make yourself comfortable by reading the guide provided by AvePoint since you cannot afford to miss any topics. Each topic in AvePoint's guide must be understood by its users. If you read AvePoint's guide, then the tool can provide you with value because previously, I have also worked with another tool where technical support was not taken into their scope of duties. With AvePoint, support is provided to its users, so whatever queries one has, a support team is present to tell what exactly you have to do. With other tools in the market, they will do the migration up front and not provide support later on to their users. For AvePoint's partners, there are training courses available, and one should go through that training to be able to successfully use the product during migrations.

AvePoint FLY helps you deal with all your challenges. The tool has a solution for all your challenges. Basically, the first thing you don't do is directly use AvePoint FLY before understanding it by reading their guide since each point mentioned in it is really important. If you miss one step, it will impact your migration. AvePoint provides proper planning for its users. You take the backup configuration of your calendar services and shared mailbox. Most companies say that we only support migrating source mail licenses to the target mail licenses, but AvePoint provides its users help with all the complete possible scenarios. After migrating, AvePoint lets its users know how to apply the permissions on the mail routing, making it a very good tool. It is a good tool considering the end-to-end functionalities offered by the tool.

Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

We use AvePoint FLY mostly for migration and M&A-related activities. Other than that, we use it to do small things based on the solution's capabilities.

The most valuable feature of AvePoint FLY is its ability to install or use multiple client servers using a single master server and balance the migration load depending on our needs.

The solution's reporting could be improved because it does not have a lot of reporting capabilities.

I have used Avepoint FLY for two years.

Sometimes when using an SQL database, the solution creates issues with retrieving information or keeping the connection established. However, that happens for longer migrations when I'm migrating ten terabytes of data or more than that, and not in ideal cases.

The solution's initial setup is not easy, but for someone who knows technology and understands how migration works, it's not that difficult as well.

It took a week to deploy AvePoint FLY, and the deployment was done through an in-house team.

We have seen a return on investment with AvePoint FLY.

AvePoint FLY's pricing is good enough for its capabilities. AvePoint FLY is not an overpriced solution.

I use the on-premises version of AvePoint FLY, but it also has a cloud version.

AvePoint FLY is an admin tool admins use to migrate data if there is an M&A or internal request to migrate content.

AvePoint FLY gives you the flexibility of managing the software yourself, but it does not give you the ease of usage that some other solutions do. If you are confident that you can perform migrations, then you should use AvePoint FLY.

Overall, I rate Avepoint FLY an eight out of ten.

We do have this solution as part of our services to our MSPs, which we use when there's an acquisition made. So companies are using Avepoint FLY, the SaaS version now, to migrate the purchased companies' 365 tenants to their production tenant.

The fact that Avepoint FLY actually can collect and provide all the metadata, all the properties, and all the goodies that you tend to lose when migrating a user from tenant A to tenant B. So it's all there.

It  is a really solid solution.

I have been using this solution for two years. We use the most recent version.

So it is only used while migration is occurring. But we do see that our clients are doing a lot of migrations since they make acquisitions of different companies. So I would say they are using it on a monthly basis.

We are super happy with the customer service and support. 

The initial setup is a little bit more complex than setting up Cloud Backup for Avepoint. Since you need to set up both the target and a destination, you need to provide credentials for those, and those credentials need to be verified. So, it's a little bit more complex, but not super complex.

Overall, the process takes three minutes. It is super fast.

We deployed the solution ourselves. 

There is definitely an ROI. 

There are two different ways of licensing Avepoint FLY. So either you can use set up a licensing form based on objects which we do not recommend because then it will be more costly. So what you do is you set up the migration based on the users instead.

In comparison with other vendors out there, it's quite similar when it comes to pricing, but it brings that little extra to the table. Regarding smoothness and support. Ease of use and all that.

We looked into the market quite heavily and quite deeply and made a lot of comparisons with other vendors. So we tried most of them that are in the leading segment of migration tools and backup and restore tools for SaaS platforms.

Do a POC -- never trust a salesperson's advice. Do a POC. Try it out. Try to figure out why, how, when, who, and so on and so forth, and take it easy. 

Overall, I would rate the solution a nine out of ten. There's always some room for improvement. 

We were using it for Slack to Teams migration. 

We haven't been using the solution for that long. We're just trying out the trial. It's hard to talk about the features as we haven't explored them in-depth just yet.

The solution is very straightforward to use. It's not overly difficult to figure out.

Everything seems to be quite flexible. This is helpful as this was part of our requirements for a solution.

The solution is quite stable and the performance has been good.

The product can scale easily.

The trial version is quite expensive in comparison to other solutions. The licensing is confusing and doesn't make sense.

Technical support is lacking in that they don't seem to respond. I do a lot of research myself. I can't rely on them.

We've been using the solution for a couple of weeks at this point. We're just using a trial version and we're testing it out.

The performance of the solution is good. It's reliable. The product seems quite stable. We haven't experienced bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. Everything in that sense is good.

The product scales easily. If a company needs to expand it, it can do so with ease.

Right now I'm the only one who is using this product. 

I haven't reached out to technical support. I've mostly done my own research and searched online for answers if I have questions. I have no idea how technical support is. I can never reach them when I need them. They need to improve and be more responsive.

I did not previously use a different solution. This is the first product we've tried for our migration needs.

There isn't really an installation process, as the product is cloud-based. You just use it. You don't have to download or deploy anything. It's very quick. In a few minutes, you can start using it.

I handled every aspect of implementing the solution myself. I did not need outside help. I did not seek out a consultant or implementor. 

We are using the trial version and find it to be costly. It's something around $20. With another attachment, the cost was lower, at about $3. However, you seem to have to buy more licenses than you need.

I'm confused by the licensing process. Ultimately, I would want 35 licenses for migration, for 35 users. However, when I asked someone, I was told that with one license we can migrate a number of channels and a number of users. I asked if there is no limitation with one license why should I procure more and then I was told that the minimum purchase should be 25 licenses. That doesn't make sense.

I don't want to spend more money if I only need one license to do the job.

I'm not sure which version of the solution we're using.

I'd recommend the solution to other organizations. It's straightforward and easy to use. Therefore, I'd rate it ten out of ten.

If a company is looking for something that is easy to use and not too complicated, this is perfect. Of course, they could always use improvement on their licensing procedures and overall cost.
