We use this solution to control BlackBerry applications for our clients. We were using BlackBerry tools to access emails on our phones, and clients had to install the BlackBerry application on their devices. The BlackBerry application controlled these applications, similar to Symantec VIP manager, but for BlackBerry applications.
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The solution has a lot of features, such as adding different applications and devices to one platform. This allowed us to manage many devices and applications from a single platform.
What needs improvement?
The solution is complicated for new users. There are a lot of buttons on the first page. It can be very confusing if you’re not aware of the terms they use. For example, a button labelled ‘edit device’ doesn't explain exactly what it does or how to use it.
Setup is difficult, time-consuming, and a lot of procedures are involved. There are latency issues on the application.
For how long have I used the solution?
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is a stable product. There were no crashes or anything like that. It wouldn't stop working abruptly. There were definitely some latency issues with the backend of their servers.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Around 200-300 people are using this solution.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup wasn't easy. One had to go through a lot of procedures to get access and to learn about it. You would need a fair amount of time to set it up for the first time. Moreover, there were latency issues on the application. You would sometimes push for a code, and it wouldn't come to your inbox.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The solution is cheaper than Outlook. Regarding maintenance, it is not maintained like Microsoft Outlook.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We were using Blackberry UEM because it was the cheapest option among others, and Outlook was quite expensive. By the end of my term at that organization, they had completely moved to Outlook.
What other advice do I have?
Don’t go for it now. We have better options like Outlook, where you can control everything from one platform.
Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.
